  1. 2022, which is the fucking third horrible year in a row, is now halfway complete. With all the shit that's going in the world, it's time to celebrate our biggest hobby: console wars video games. Wooohoooo. So tell us. How were the first 6 months for you gaming-wise? How many games have you played? Favourites? GOTY contender (or winner already)? I've been keeping track of games this year as I have done last year. However, I have dropped the "games abandoned/finished" category as I don't really care about that anymore. If a game is so bad that it makes me drop it, it's not even worth mentioning in any statistic Which is why I'm only going with platforms, backlog? yes,no,maybe,I don't know, can you repeat the question? and total score. So far, I've played 40 games this year on 8 different platforms: No surprise, Sony devices dominate. There's nothing interesting coming from Nintendo and MS for me, so there's the explanation. I've decided to separate the games I've bought and the games I've gotten through PS+ to see how the sub impacts my gaming habits. I've played the Halo series via GamePass, but since I've only subbed to that service for 2 months to do just that, I've decided to put them into the "No" group. Pretty happy with the 40/60 distribution. The last 3 games I've played came from PS+ Massive Dingus Edition. Pretty sure it'll be a big part of my gaming environment for the remainder of the year. Other than that: So far, 4 games have gotten 10/10 points. The best is of course: Elden Ring. It'll most likely win GOTY for me. Unless the next GoW will be released in 2022 and is as good as the first (and if I buy/finish it this year). Surprise hit: Vampire Survivors. Disappointment: Sekiro (runner up: Tales of Arise). Worst game: Halo 2, thanks to the most game crashes I've ever experienced. Now it's your turn
  2. Ohhhh, so this is what One Step From Eden came from.
  3. Hotshot Racing Fun arcade-drifting-racer. A little light on content, so if I hadn't gone for the trophies I would've thought it was a bit lacking. But most of the trophies were fun and quite a challenge. What I didn't enjoy was the grind for the last two trophies in the end. But that's my own fault for going for these Anyway, mostly had fun and PS+ Mega Ultra Chicken Edition keeps on giving.
  4. I was interested in this just to see some multiplat 3rd party titles, but then I noticed "Partner" in the title. So...have fun, people. I'm out
  5. Sooooo...this won't be as...well...naugthy as the anime was? You know what I mean...
  6. Good to know. Wanted to give it a go today, but I may hold off on it. If I enjoy it and wanna go for the Platinum...don't have time for a grindy trophy thanks to Hotshot Racing. Holy hell, the grind is real. I had to finish a GP with every car (32 - I've done that yesterday) and I'm not even close to the end of the grind. There's challenges for every car (they're all the same) and you need to acquire a lot of money to buy all the cosmetics. Got today off, but I doubt I'll be able to finish it Don't remind me. Thanks to PS+ Ultra Mega Super Edition, Nexomon: Extinction has left my PS5 main screen
  7. Why not, it's an easy 1 hour Platinum DO IT! I can't be arsed to do that, though. One-and-done
  8. Gotta agree with you: It's a fantastic puzzle game. Well worth your time
  9. Just played the first stage and I thought: "This is gonna turn into a Star Wars game any minute" The soundtrack is waaaayyy too epic for a game like this
  10. Been talking about my childhood/teenage summers with one of my oldest friends recently, and we actually remembered that we didn't play a lot of games in the summer times back then. We just...went outside, played basketball, went for a swim, rode our bikes And when we did play video games, it was either Super Smash Bros Melee, Diablo 2 LoD or CS 1.6 for most of these years. But if I had to choose one of my summer games from back then...it's probably: Played this to death. I remember pre-ordering this in a local store...I guess this was my first pre-order ever. We got a call once it was available for pickup and I nagged my dad to pick it up that day (I wasn't 16, yet, then). He just came back from work and was not pleased. But because he was a good dude, he picked it up for me That was my summer sorted. So yeah...there are really no "summery" games for me. I just play whatever I feel like
  11. All caught up and holy shit, Season 4 is on a different level. The "ending" was masterfully executed. Can't wait to see how it'll end with volume II (which apparently has only two episodes, but they will run at a total of 3 1/2 hours) on Friday. Yeah, I'm not gonna socialize that night
  12. @Hero-of-Time I guess it's time to give the Crash 4 Platinum a try Oh and, Arcadegeddon? Always been interested in it, but not the Early Access. The PS+ release comes at a perfect time, as it is set to get its full release soon. Anyways, it's a rumour but basically 99% real, 'cause the leaker is the real deal And if it's real, it's a hell of a month
  13. Just gave the Extreme GPs another go and what do you know...first try. Being sober makes all the difference
  14. Don't go back. It's a game you either love or hate. And you seem to hate it, so move on.
  15. Yeah, 90% of the corners require drifting, and you need to drift to gain boost. On Expert that is mandatory. And you need to use your boost strategically. It's not that easy. But I like drifting in games, which is why I'm having fun. I guess the game's not for you, then, as it relies heavily on drifting. Edit: I'm just gonna say "drifting" again: DRIFTING!
  16. I'm inebriated, so take this with a grain of salt (to the Tequila), but I like it. Been going for the most difficult trophies (that is win all 4 GPs on the hardest difficulty and win a GP on the hardest difficulty with all drivers) these last two hours and when I was 100% sober, it wasn't too bad. I actually liked the rubber banding. It made for some pretty intense racing and finishes. Now...not so much. I still need to win with three drivers and I cannot for the life of me get it done. Much to the amusement of my friends sitting next to me I don't know what it's like on lower difficulties, but as it stands now: I thoroughly enjoy it. The driving/drifting is perfect.
  17. Don't drink and drive, people. My performance on Hotshot Racing has declined rapidly in the last two hours.
  18. If I may interject: I'm a wuss when it comes to the horror genre, but I had no problems with both TLoU games. A few shock moments here and there, but they are really not that intense. It is creepy, though. Some sections get very tense.
  19. Oh nooooo, the clunkiness will probably annoy me a bit when I start my Ape Escape journey later today
  20. First game with the new PS+ sub: Minit Short, old-school Zelda-style adventure with a 60 second time loop. A solid 7/10.
  21. Fair enough. But it would be worth it, if the service just had 3-4 games you haven't played, yet, which would cost 15-20 bucks each You can't tell me you've played all of those
  22. Personally, I don't give a shit, but the people complaining should be pleased.
  23. Will you stay subscribed to Essential? If so, wouldn't it make sense to upgrade to Extra for 40 bucks more a year? And depending on the classic PS1 games coming at certain times, upgrade to Premium for a tenner that particular month? I know you prefer actually buying games, same as I, but there's no denying that it's ridiculous value given the amount of games on the service.
  24. Classics: Ape Escape Syphon Filter Wild Arms Probably going to play Ape Escape first. And when I'm done with that and Nexomon: Extinction (so probably in a few weeks ) there's gonna be something from the list I made: Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Balan Wonderworld Chocobo’s Mystery Dungeon EVERY BUDDY! Concrete Genie Cris Tales Death Stranding: Director's Cut Final Fantasy XII The Zodiac Age Ghostrunner Killzone Shadowfall (+ Intercept) The Wonderful 101: Remastered South Park: The Stick of Truth South Park: The Fractured but Whole Hotshot Racing Indivisible Minit Saints Row: The Third Remastered Greedfall Got enough to try out the service until January and decide probably in November/December whether I'm going Extra or Premium
