Super Mario Maker 2 challenge - June challenge has started!
drahkon replied to Sméagol's topic in Nintendo Gaming
For yours, more checkpoints would've been great. I know it's a puzzle level and they have slower pace, but I don't like having to go through the same puzzles again when I make a mistake during a new puzzle/room. That's a personal preference, but it kind of ruins your level for me. For Dcubed's level it's the vertical section. It's too finicky to set up properly. The problem with Vileplume2000's level is that vertical scrolling is quite slow and you can't see what's coming more often than not. I'll probably take part. Will have to buy a stylus, though, as creating levels without it is a nightmare... -

Well, now I feel stupid and I'm embarrassed. -

Tried every level. ReadShell's level gets my vote. Consistent mechanics and generally just a joy to play. Glen-I's was very enjoyable, as well. londragon's son's level didn't really use Spikes (sorry, @londragon, I've mistaken your son's level with yours) The other's weren't fun, sorry...either because you can't see what's going to happen or can't manipulate Spike's mechanics consistently. They are difficult for the wrong reasons. Call me a quitter but I can't play through levels like these. Also: It would be great if the first post of this thread was updated with the current codes. It was a bit annoying to sift through the thread and find codes. And since Nintendo is inept at making good menus to find levels even when you follow creators it would be cool to have a list of codes readily available -
Three things that need to change: red dots on the map need to go - it's way too easy to locate players; keep it for the UAV streamlined loot is generally ok, but we at least need the option to swap optics it needs a solo mode Other than that, it's great. Really fun. This is a game that I could see myself play occasionally, if it had a solo mode.

Now I can and I have. 30 hours of playtime and I've realized that I won't get anymore out of it. I looked up what there is left to do and it's pretty much what I've been doing the entire game, i.e. go through a dungeon and recruit the Pokémon at the end. I've run through a 99-floor dungeon and it was fun until floor 50. There's no chance that I'll keep enjoying this for longer. Great game. Lovely entry point for the Mystery Dungeon series, I reckon. But it's time to move on Thanks @Glen-i and @Dcubed for being so helpful.

Made some progress. New dungeon has been unlocked. Let's see whether it'll wreck me 27 hours in now, still can't stop playing.

The new anime and manga thread! [Use Spoiler Tags!]

One Punch Man is just non-stop action right now. It's awesome -
Decided to put my focus on making Smeargle my first fully upgraded Pokémon. Put a lot of items into Larvitar/Pupitar before, though, so I need more power ups Anyway, is it possible to increase the Accuracy of a move to "sure hit" with Accuracy Ups? Edit: Apparently it is not
-
Reached Diamond rank Also tried to... I guess I'll move on to other battle first. Edit: Bought all camps Another item from the checklist done!
-
Obviously gonna give it a go. It needs to be amazing, though, to get me away from Apex Legends.
-
Coming Friday. Peggle? Roguelite? FUCK. I need this.
-
Interesting. I recruited him not long ago. Didn't know he can learn any move I think it's time to give the purple frog Pokémon regular visits to find great TMs. Right now a certain Pokémon in my team wrecks everything with an attack that hits every enemy in a room (Discharge). As long as I bring enough Max Ethers, I'll be fine

Don't think so. I keep getting tickets quite often. Especially from friend rescue missions.
-
Oh Nintendo...how far have you fallen...
-
As far as I know there's an unlimited supply of all items. The green frog Pokémon has a new assortment of items for sale every day and the randomized jobs you get are infinite. Ah yes, hoarding items...a habit that is tough to break "Houndoom noticed that a Pokémon is paralyzed. Use healing item?" - Thank you, Sir, but FUCK OFF. I use items regularly now, though. It's necessary.

One of the two DLCs for Tangledeep will be coming to Switch for free According to the dev on reddit it is set to release around the 26th of March (along with the other DLC which will probably be 5 bucks). Good. Gives me time for Pokémon Mystery Dungeon Rescue Team DX and Super Mario Maker 2 The music in the trailer is awesome.

Is there still time to put in a vote? I'll most likely give each level a go later today. -
I've played this for 24h over the weekend My team now consists of Larvitar, Houndoom and a spoilery Pokémon (see spoiler tag). Houndooms rare quality, Steamroll, ensures that I won't switch him out anytime soon. I have set myself an ultimate goal: Make Larvitar the strongest Pokémon, i.e. max out all his stats, if there is a relatively reliable way to farm certain items. Do I want to evolve him with the knowledge that it'll get a sandstorm ability? Probably because there's always a nullify band Anyway, my short-term goal:

Just bought this digitally from the US eShop. It's on sale for $39.99 and I was able to get $40 of credit for 27€. Seemed like a no-brainer. Depending on how much time I can invest currently I might take part in this challenge. Probably only as a player for now, though. -
Managed to recruit: Wasn't too difficult. Items are definitely key in this game. My Magneton was responsible for confusing the opponent pretty mucht the entire fight. First with wands, then with his attacks. Larvitar and Houndoom unleashed hell And occasionally healed when it was necessary. The newly recruited team member has quite a high level. I might actually remove Magneton and have the above Pokémon in my current go-to team. Love this game. I'll keep playing this for quite a while. Either until I get bored or until Tangledeep is getting a sale in the eShop

I wish there was a way to gauge the difficulty of a dungeon in the menus. It's a little annoying to enter a new one, realize that your level is not high enough and then immediately use an Escape Orb. Not a huge deal but still a weird decision. Also: A "skip all rewards"-button/option would be great
-
Reached Platinum rank just now. Not sure what exactly I want to do, now that I've started the post-game journey. I think I'll just keep completing random missions.

Credits have rolled. It took me almost exactly 16 hours to beat the story. What a game. Great rogue-like, but a little on the easy side. The true game begins now, however. At leats according to certain people here But first: it's time for a good night's sleep. 16 hours of video gaming in two days...been a long time since I've done this
-
Wonderful idea. Would be a great one after Fake News if we decide to keep it

@Glen-i What should I know about evolutions? I haven't started the final dungeon, but I'm already interested in the mechanics. Does evolving a Pokémon come with increased stats? I just got a Larvitar, one of my favourite Pokémon and I'd like to know whether I should level him up now for a while or wait and evolve him first. Would the latter method net higher stats?
