Still no news on the next Nintendo Direct? I am sick of waiting now...
-
Sorry guys, that was me with the wrong track/character. Hadnb't read the rules beforehand
-
I'll play if there's any space left?
-
I took the dive on OlliOlli (mainly becuase it was free for 3DS also) and it's great! Even though it's been about 6 years since I last played it, I still can't get the Tony Hawk controls out of my head...
-
I got Stealth Inc. 2 but was thinking about those as well. Let me know how they play and I might take the dip too : peace:

I've had this for a month now. At the beginning I wasn't too keen, played around 5 or 6 matches then switched it off. Over the past couple of days I've completely fallen in love with it, probably because I unlocked ranked matches. At first I thought it was pretty shallow and it didn't really grab me, but now I'm going for unlocks, mixing up my weapons (the bucket is amazing) and leveling up pretty rapidly. The variety in the the game modes, maps and weapons is amazing. It feels like a proper shooter, only Nintendofied. The soundtrack is spectauclar. I've been sitting here all evening playing. I really don't know how Nintendo still manage to stay fresh (sorry) after all these years. Hands down my game of the year. Looking forward to future updates, and all the surprises they have in store for us. If you haven't bought it yet, buy it.

Why is team sleep almost exclusively filled with casual players and drop-outs. I have finished top of my team in all but one of my games and team sleep hasn't even won ONE of the 15 games I've played so far. The last game we got 6.3% and two players dropped out. This absolutely sucks.
-
I would much rather play this... +10 points to those who get the reference.
-
Sums up my thoughts exactly, and explains why I've only been lurking for the past year.

I planned to pick up Splatoon when I got paid last week, but it was sold out! It's astonishing how popular that game is in Russia, the Russian social network VK is absolutely flooded with posts about it, and literally hundreds of hilarious Splatoon memes have been posted. Nintendo has done incredibly well to break into a market where PC and piracy has been king for the best part of 20 years. There is a whole genreation of teenagers who are just discovering the company and the games, and I'm sick with envy. Splatoon's back in stock now, but I've been holding off until I've finished a couple more games. Yoshi's dropping on Friday too, so I might grab that first. I know Splatoon will be a time consumer. For anyone who is getting frustrated or bored with Nintendo, take some time off from gaming. I took almost 3 years off. Didn't check news, didn't post on message boards, and didn't play all that much. It's true that absence makes the heart grow fonder

I didn't even mention off-screen play. My girlfriend loves to watch shitty vampire TV series and it has been an absolute godsend. I don't know what I'd do without it, I can't think of anything worse than being forced to sit and watch teenagers pretend to be vampires. I'd be lost without NES remix. Well, I wouldn't, I'd have my 3DS, but that's not the point. :awesome: I also didn't mention Mario 3D world, the perfect marriage of 2D and 3D Mario, Super Luigi U, Wii Sports Club.. I could go on forever. Or the fact my previously none-gaming girlfriend has also been converted. Best. Nintendo. System. Ever. I really hope they name the next console "Nintendo" or something like that. I miss the days where we'd call our mates and ask them round to play some Nintendo. #Nostalgia

I couldn’t agree with this more! I got my WiiU, funnily enough, exactly a year ago. I kind of burned out on my love for gaming during the Wii era, only playing through Skyward Sword and a couple of other big hits, but the WiiU and 3DS have made me completely fall in love with it again (read: Nintendo). The Wii U is hands down my favourite console of all time. I absolutely love this machine. It has, by far, the best editions of Mario Kart, Smash Bros and Zelda (by this I obviously mean the spectacular Wind Waker HD). I was late to the party, and thus have a lot of catching up to do. I haven’t even touched Pikmin 3, DKCR:TF or Zombi U. I’m still to buy Kirby, Toad and Splatoon, but I know, given the quality of the other releases, there will be countless hours to lose myself in. Have I even mentioned the indie games and virtual console? I’m halfway through both Prime Trilogy and Earthbound (still). I was as disappointed as the next guy with the Digital Event (who wasn’t waiting for a megaton?), but you know what, it didn’t bother me, because it’s not physically possible to have played through EVERYTHING Nintendo have released on the Wii U and 3DS, and the upcoming games do tick most boxes. The overreaction online was mind-boggling. We all know Nintendo has changed, sure, we may not appreciate the way they go about it, but they’re still innovating and still giving us great games, that in my humble opinion, is undeniable. Take Hyrule Warriors for instance. I never in a million years thought I’d sink over 60 hours into a Muso game, yet here I am. A perfect example of Nintendo’s new approach to the dreaded “third party situation.” I speak only for myself, but I am more than happy to relinquish full 3rd party support for games such as this, Wonderful 101 and Bayonetta. Steam is available to those who want something a bit different and (if they don’t have an expensive PC) take a graphical hit in comparison to the sister consoles. I know I don’t need a PS4 for PES, Skyrim, Minecraft or a non-descript shooter, should the urge arise. The thought of a hybrid excites me greatly. Having a “Nintendo” console with 30 years of history that can be used at home and on-the-go is a mouthwatering prospect to any true Nintendo fan-boy. Nintendo have never, ever been about anything but gameplay and experiences and I would give me left arm for such a device, whether it was in HD or not. The business model is being forced to change, and I for one am excited to see what they have up their sleeve. Hell, my goddamn obsession with Pokemon shuffle is evidence enough of that. I’ll certainly pick up some games shown in the direct and skip others, but for now, the Wii U is unique enough, familiar enough, online enough and “Nintendo” enough to satisfy my gaming needs for the next couple of years. TL;DR: Appreciate what you’ve got, because basically, I’m fantastic.

According to my 3DS, I've played for 40 hours, and my girlfriend has played 25. Neither of us has put a single penny into the game, but we both love it. Usually have a couple of games before work and in the evening, but it all adds up. I actually love this game, it's really addictive and actually got me back into pokemon again. Got Pokemon X about a month ago, it's the first pokemon game I've owned since Gold and it's absolutely amazing. Can't believe I ignored the series for 15 odd years.
-
I listened to it. Probably their best retroactive so far. I have the urge to play it again too, but I did so only a couple of years ago. Would absolutley love a 3DS or HD port of this game, one of my favourites in the 3D series.

Has anyone used this site? Prices are much cheaper than in Russia and its easier to pay with PayPal to avoid charges.
-
-
That's fair enough, then you have bank charges as well for paying in a different currency. Small I know, but it adds up. It's not so bad when you're paying for cheap eshop releases but I'd worry about being locked out if it was a full retail release. Sure half price sounds good, but with the way Nintendo seem to be heading with a unified and more integrated account system, you could end up losing that £25 bargain.
-
I'd be very careful if I were you guys. I currently live in Russia and can promise you that your UK bank won't be charging you the current exchange rate you think you may be paying. Because of the volatility of the rouble some banks are giving an awful exchange rate, so while you think you may be getting 100 roubles to the pound, in reality it's probably closer to 75 or 80. Wii U games have doubled in price here in the past few months and the EShop is due to follow suit soon. There is such a low number of people playing Wii U here that I'm sure Nintendo will have noticed increased activity in the Russian EShop and are probably already taking measures to close the loophole, and the future of those games you own may well be uncertain if you created a new account to get them and are based outside Russia. I still get paid 70,000 rub a month, but Wii U games, at least in the store have gone up from 1,800 to 3,500. Truly depressing.

Yeah, I had a look online and found out. Now I need to go out and find one because the beautiful people at GAME charged me just £2.95 to ship the Mario Kart bundle out to Latvia!! Incredible. It may well take a month, but it's on its way!! Parents are coming to my graduation in a couple of weeks so I've been busy getting enough games to fill a warehouse sent to them. Hopefully soon I'll be enjoying the 6th generation of Nintendo home consoles! Actually it's pretty weird. In Estonia and Lithuania it's the same as here. You can get one, but it's expensive as hell. Funnily enough I had a course in Poland in March and in both Krakow and Warsaw it's almost impossible to find anything Nintendo related, even DS stuff. My guess is just that Nintendo never took off in the East because of communism and now that games are a serious business, people are happy enough with Sony and Microsoft, which are huge in Poland. Really highlights an element of the nostalgia effect Nintendo seems to rely on in the West. Another thing, in the Baltics they don't have specialist games shops. There is just no market, there are only 2 shops in a city of 700,000 which sell consoles and a few games. My housemate explained that because they have always had really fast and reliable internet here during the broadband age, people just pirate PC games. The concept of paying for software here is completely alien.

Amazon won't ship here. Even Amazon.de. Most places charge extortionate shipping fees or won't send at all :/ my only real option is to get one here, but this one is in really bad nick. They say it's tested and fully working, but still.. Also I'd have to pay extra to buy an EU AC adapter if I imported from the UK, and they aren't cheap. Another 30-40 Euros. Edit: Does anyone know if the console the AC socket to the Wii and Wii U are the same, as I have an EU AC plug for the original Wii.

Wondering if any of you guys could give me some advice.. I've been living in Latvia for the past year and been desperate to pick up a WiiU. The only problem is, it isn't officially on sale here, and the places where it is sold have hugely inflated prices, we're talking 350 Euros +1 game. Importing one is just as pricey, and going back to the UK just to pick one up, then paying the excess on a flight to bring it back just seems silly.. Today I found a second hand Wii with 5 (admittedly sucky) games - Nintendo Land, Black Ops 2, FIFA 13, Rayman Rabbids and 007 something or other. None of those interest me except Nintendo Land, but the guy isn't willing to sell lower without the other 4. The price is a cool 200 Euros. It is however, a launch machine and in pretty bad condition. The console is pretty scratched up. There is no box, and obviously no warrenty. I don't know whether I'd be wasting my money and wondered what you guys thought. I would much rather buy new, but there's no way I can justify 350 Euros... This seems like a once in a blue moon kind of deal for Latvia, like I said, I've been searching for over a year.
