XD, it certainly is. You know why though? Because some people on the WoW diet actually die. Society wins. PS3 may even be the quietest console of the current 3, so yet again sounds like something wrong there. :p I have heard some people saying there is a way to check the fan level on the PS3 menu, and some people with high levels found that they had blocked vents etc. Could be worth checking that out.

Yeh, it's honestly shocking that people are saying their Wii is louder than their 360. The Wii is clearly a low spec console with barely a powerful fan to even produce a loud sound. The 360 has a massive power brick and when actually playing a game (not on the dashboard) the sound seems immense for both me and my friend. Maybe the Wii gets louder if the fans are blocked?

Skill and thinking aren't the same. You can do well in University with no skills, but you need to think. Usually I prefer to think in games rather than waste my life becoming 'skilled' at a particular game online. The reason RPGs usually require some thought is that there is usually a story involved of some notable worth (in contrast to FPS games like Halo where the story is of little interest). Then the dungeons often consist of puzzles to top it off.

Good choice...I kind of stray away from collector's editions. It's usually just a money grabbing scam and what you get never justifies the extra cash.

Definitely something wrong with your wii there...the 360 is about 99 times as loud as the Wii.

I would say Xbox has better games at the moment, but PS3 definitely has a better lineup.

I found a DVI -> HDMI cable on ebuyer in the end, a 3m one in case anyone is interested: link. I tried linking my regular DVI cable to the DVI port on the TV and it seemed to display a picture out of resolution with the TV. I then used the nVidia control panel to output in specific HDTV resolutions (my card can do that) and then the screen just stayed blank. Hopefully this cable should sort out this problem (it was an old type of DVI cable).

RPGs require a basic level of understanding, while those games don't. Some people like to think during their games.
