Well never posted after yesterday, so I'll do that now. Went to Alton Towers yesterday with Amanda, and it was awesome. She drove us all the way there and back (the way back took at least an hour and a half due to traffic), which was really kind. It rained earlier on and near the end a fair bit, but there was quite a stretch of good weather. I was really close to winning her a big panda (she loves pandas) by throwing these hoops onto glass bottles, and even a guy near me was really impressed, lol. But alas, they must be rigged. :p But yeah, a great day. Not too much queueing for the rides either. Lots of hugging and kissing going on, hehe. Meeting up with her again on Tuesday to see this film she wants to see.

I'm kinda the opposite... I don't like it when people have an issue with some labels, simply because they're labels. Fair enough if they're bad labels (e.g. nerd if you like chess, have bad hair and acne), but having an issue with shoppers being called shoppers is a bit ridiculous. It also seems logical to call people who play games regularly 'gamers'. Labels are there to aid speech; not to victimise. It's much easier to say "we have 100 shoppers in store" rather than "we have 100 people in store who are currently browsing the aisles and selecting products to buy." Just common sense, really.

It's a shame that those FF cufflinks cover VII and IX...and not VIII. I would say that the FF cufflinks are better, even though it's American boxart. It would be cool if they just had the symbols for the games (ie. the comet and crystal) on white backgrounds.

Aww, shame to hear. I'm sure you'll do better next time. You'll have plenty more time to practice before then, so you might sail through the next test.

I run at 1680x1050, on a 22" Samsung widescreen monitor. It looks nice.

Yeah it should last for ages from the battery, that model. It's a lot like the NC10, too, which I know first hand rocks hard. It really is quite fast...good netbooks today are probably as good as desktop PCs were not too long ago. Just without a good graphics card. :p

Ah it wasn't really anything proper, just a subway before we went to see a film. It was the first subway she'd ever had, actually. :p

Today was sheer awesome. I had a date (more like a day of fun) with an awesome girl called Amanda. We went for a drink, played pool, went to a coffee place, went on a huge ferris wheel (like the London Eye...lite), went for something to eat, played in an arcade and saw a film. Truly the most fun I have had in ages. She's really cute and really likes me too.

Let's keep things civil. It is fairly short, considering it has no multiplayer option. Although by FPS standards, it may be considered quite long.

You should definitely pick up Lost Odyssey. It's probably about a tenner now - it's a cracking 4-disc Japanese-style RPG with fun gameplay and nice settings. It looks really nice, too.

lol, reminds me of Final Fantasy X. Everyone in the history of time pronounced chocobo as "chock-a-bo", but the NPCs started saying "Choke-a-bo". That was a sad day for us all.

Been playing this a bit (well, it's my brother playing this time really) and compared to the PS2 version (which I fully completed) this really gets me annoyed. Just the drawing of circles and whatnot often fails; I can see why they think it'd be a good idea to draw what is meant to be something Amaterasu is drawing, but it just doesn't feel that great. I much preferred a more stable method of input that didn't seem so hit and miss (scenes where you have to cut/bloom X number of things in sequence without failure are a nightmare).

Yeah, no problem. Having an NC10 I can tell you that it's actually a lot more powerful than you'd believe; I have several tabs open in Firefox, some running youtube videos and it doesn't even slow down. My friend actually got it to run HD anime episodes without lag, haha. It also runs office programs with ease. The battery life is unbelievable, and is one of the best things if you ask me. Maybe 6 to 6 and a half hours unplugged on a reasonable brightness setting. Samsung netbooks are made of win. They look awesome, too. Get one.

Can someone sig this?

Actually, I have the Samsung NC10 (as does Raining Again and a few others on here, as well as two of my friends and my mother)...it's easily one of the best netbooks available. It's won loads of awards, too. Samsung are pretty much the kings in the netbook market, and their netbooks tend to be much better in terms of design and battery life. The NC20 is a 12 inch netbook, and as a result has a poorer battery life, if that's important to you (but better style and obviously a bigger screen). The NC10 is cheaper and has a longer battery, but a 10.2 inch screen, while the N110 has a bigger battery than the NC10 (but is slightly more expensive). It's up to you, but the Samsung netbooks are all pretty fantastic.

Abdelbaset Ali al-Megrahi to be freed from prison??
Sheikah replied to danny's topic in General Chit Chat
I don't think so... once they are gone, that's it. Terminated. Sewage cleanup, pestilence removal, target neutralised. Once you're dead, you're dead. And in prison these days, they often seem to live quite cushy lives. Then they can be freed like Sean Mercer when they're middle-aged. Also, they might have a conscience crunch. They may believe in God, in which case they die having commit heinous crimes and probably face a life in hell. Or they don't, in which they probably don't believe in Heaven or Hell, thus are going six feet under for good. It's a pretty good punishment for anyone. -

It's not as long as a life, though. So it's really not a life sentence at all. -
Abdelbaset Ali al-Megrahi to be freed from prison??
Sheikah replied to danny's topic in General Chit Chat
lol, you need to live in a country that is full of chavs. e.g. Sean Mercer - a chav who shot and killed an 11 year old boy called Rhys Jones during a gang fight. He was 18 and was given 22 years. Now if he served all of that he'd be 40 when he's out...and free to live the rest of his life. Which is why I pretty much agree with the death sentence. -

You're just a big softie, lol. Bring back the death penalty. -
Abdelbaset Ali al-Megrahi to be freed from prison??

Causing 270 to be killed... or believing he should die in the place he's supposed to be in. Almost as ruthless, my ass. -

Wtf...am I missing something? He took part part in the deaths of 270 people and we somehow think he deserves dignity in death? -
N-Europe Chatroom! (thread open for discussion)
Sheikah replied to Shorty's topic in General Chit Chat
Well sometimes I have called out to people, but no answer. Which is obviously a bit different to MSN. I dunno...if I have a few of hours when I feel like chatting to people I'll keep mIRC open and be generally responsive in that time. I don't see the point in keeping it open hours upon hours when I don't really expect to talk to anyone or be at my PC. -
Well providing something to the discussion is always nice; otherwise the Thanks button is there.

N-Europe Chatroom! (thread open for discussion)
Sheikah replied to Shorty's topic in General Chit Chat
No offence, but, I see idling as completely pointless. It's just the same 4 members in the background that are often never there, lol. Seeing as you're unlikely to get to chat to these people, or by the time they respond you'll have gone and done something else, I kind of don't see much point. Just go on when you actually plan to chat to people. -
