  1. You guys are missing the point. If you're arguing that this is a case of supply and demand as one reason for the expense of Nintendo games, then you're basically saying that because of a low copy number of their games, Nintendo can afford to sell them for more. For one, I don't believe there is a low copy number of many expensive Nintendo titles. There are shed loads of them in shops. It's very rare (in fact I doubt it has ever happened) that I shouldn't see these games in shops when I go. And second, some of the games that I'm referring to as being expensive are also available online. This really is an unlimited supply. This is not a case of supply and demand; Nintendo are well supplied, they just choose to sell their games for more.
  2. Agreed. This is how you use gold. Box art really doesn't get any better than that.
  3. Yup, was gonna say that. It's just the Xbox that used propriety storage. I would much rather have an internal, standard hard drive like the PS3 than an external. Usually cheaper, faster transfer rates, and less lead and device clutter.
  4. AMAZING! I remember this show, it was awesome. Why can't they make shows like this anymore?
  5. Thanks Danny. Have to say, thought it was a bit shameful that no RNG was used on N1 to kill Dohnut! Unless I was mistaken and the two guys had info to go on.
  6. I for one am glad that both Peeps and Yvonne had win conditions that removed them from the game. :p It would have been so awesome if we recruited Danny.
  7. Well, it's easy enough when you know you're telling the truth. :p
  8. By the way, the queen could recruit people. Originally it was just Diageo and Smeagol (EEVIL). I was recruited on the first night when Dohnut died, and everyone else was recruited in the following nights.
  9. Thanks for the game, I enjoyed it. Well done guys.
  10. What? What do you think is stored on those cartridges? It's still digital content - they can easily mass produce them quickly at minimal cost and there's no limit to how many they can make. Plus a lot of the games are available digitally too. Anyway, that's beside the point. It's not real supply and demand. A supply and demand situation would be houses for sale in a prime location, for instance. There are only so many houses available for sale in a particular place, and lots of people wanting to live there. So the seller can charge a premium - demand outstrips supply. And the reverse situation could also be possible. Supply and demand situations effectively require a 'supply'. Here Nintendo control that supply; any company could really do that though. If GTA ran a small print run, they'd probably be selling them at a high cost as well. I do accept that Nintendo games do tend to last longer, but a lot of it is their marketing choices.
  11. There's no such thing as a natural supply and demand when it comes to digital content (which really, discs/cartridges still are). It's not like you have a finite amount of an incredibly sought out resource; if supply of game copies only just meets demand it's because Nintendo engineered it to be that way. I agree with Rummy; they take an approach similar to Disney in that they aim to create an air of quality by tightly controlling copy numbers. I think it's a bit of a shame for the consumer as they have to pay more, for games that aren't necessarily better than 3rd party titles.
  12. Regarding it being 'supply and demand'; all the shops I've been in have had loads of preowned copies of the expensive games, I hardly think they're in such huge demand. Also given how they're only priced at a few pounds less than new, I doubt many people are buying them at all.
  13. I know, that dialogue was taking the piss. Endless amounts of waffle from NPCs is one of my biggest gripes with the game. You couldn't even sell off your dud tickets at re-tail either.
  14. Currently playing Animal Crossing and have been doing pretty much every day. I haven't really played much else properly for a while to be honest.
  15. I remember on the gamecube, games like Metroid Prime and Smash Melee did reduce in price fairly normally (at least preowned). The preowned 3DS section in GAME has many Nintendo titles just a few quid off the RRP. Crazy times.
  16. But there are games of better quality that reduce in price normally?
  17. I have always wondered this. Games like Mario Kart 7 and Ocarina of Time 3DS (itself a remake of an old game) are still typically over £30 despite being a few years old. Just comparing this to other consoles, within a year games have usually dropped to half price, or even less. To me this represents poor value for money, and often seems to be overlooked by people who think Nintendo offers the affordable solution. Anyway, thoughts?
  18. How would companies make enough money if they could only release on one console? Not all titles are mainstream/popular enough to make much cash releasing on only one unit.
  19. So you would rather consoles be very different, meaning we have to splash out on all 3 to get the full roster of games? I'll leave it to Oxigen to reply to this one. :p
  20. Exactly the same! I received Katie from Gentleben so I had no Joan today. I was travelling on the train so couldn't get on wifi to even see if someone could take my Katie. Really silly that you can't have both Joan and Katie at the same time!
  21. Digby is the dog who stands outside the HHA Showcase on your main street.
  22. I am taking from the lack of any hammer that the Mafia aren't so keen on this one. Are we going to get the last couple of votes? @Jon Dedede @Marcamillian
  23. What I meant is, even if the price drops £100 I wouldn't expect the sales to pick up until there's games most people want. Or system sellers, for a better term.
  24. There's nothing really to play on it yet though?
  25. That is a complete lie. For one, absolutely no one has verified you protect. And second, apart from one time much earlier in the game, I first roleblocked you on Night 10 (it's even in the writeup), which was before Danny was killed. It also resulted in no night death.
