Err, what? Why?! At NO cineworlds?! I went to see Daddy's home as I really enjoyed The Other Guys and hoped they'd make a good partnership again, but I felt this film just wasn't up to the same standard. I think unoriginal is definitely the best way to put it - whilst funny in places most of it felt quite generic and obvious to me. Hoping to go see The Danish Girl or Joy tonight, might actually try and keep up with this thread and use it to make sure I go to the cinema more!

Me too. The question is - would it be an expensive bundle deal for both so you can't have one without the other, or some sort of optional? Greater risk if your handheld goes missing/gets broke etc, though tbh we've had that sort of with the gamepad and its crazy repair/replacement prices already. Which is awesome because they're very popular channels and I do appreciate the fact they support it - however I must admit it's a feature I don't use often myself either. I've used it for facebook a couple of times, and contemplating when I stop being lazy to maybe get some crappy clips up on youtube or something - but it's excellent that the option is there and might actually make me indulge with these services more than I otherwise have. I don't tweet or make youtube content but I do use facebook a crapton, and it's been somewhat nice to be able to go straight from something on my PS4 to facebook(though I had to then go and tweak what I wanted visible, and it didn't quite work like how I hoped). However having said that if they ALSO had a something like miiverse then it'd be excellent. That's what I'm saying about Nintendo and not just having parity but also going beyond - I'd love if the NX could do all those things but then had an improved miiverse on it too - a much more social little social network(not sure if it'd happen though) for the whole platform. Imagine for example trying to get people together to play something - and managing to do it on miiverse like you might forums, and you could set date time etc get a little party group together and it makes a reminder on the console or something but it really helps facilitate it all. Or it can be an open invite to an activity and first come first serve signups get a crack and gaps can be filled by reserves or something. Imagine though if all of this was a system feature of sorts though. Not saying that's necessarily what I want or what would be good, but it's just an example of a step beyond what we already have, and I'd like to see some sort of cool online innovations like miiverse was, but even better!
-
That makes me think of something else - the speed of the system. Miiverse is a very good idea, but I found getting into it slow, and posting limits etc jarring too. One thing I'm finding myself more greatful for than I expected is mobile integration of the PSN, that I can easily see requests etc whilst away from my console as well as sending/receiving messages - also very useful whilst I'm actually playing a game and I get a message and want to reply without even having to go into the message section and then faff with on-screen keyboard(something me and @Nintendo Fan have been making good use of recently, rather than voice chat). I'm aware there's miiverse available via mobile, but it isn't quite the same as the parity of PSN mobile to console imo.

I'm still keen to dream big and hope that they don't only match it(which I do think is crucial) but do go beyond it in too with some crazy but good ideas like Nintendo have. I just don't want the parity sacrificed for those types of ideas or innovation, I want it in addition to it.

I can go into my home menu/friends list at absolutely any time and easily add someone I've seen online? News to me. I can add someone just by seeing them in Splatoon, even when the names aren't necessarily NNIDs? News to me. I can capture and upload my photos easily to facebook? News to me. I can go back and capture a photo of something AFTER its happened? News to me. And if it isn't irrelevant as you say, I'll mention that everything I brought up and more is possible on PS4 at a system level, and hence a great infrastructure of features(seeing as we like both words). There's even more I didn't mention specifically, but that's what I'm getting at needing to be present - lots of stuff at the system level. Whilst we're on the competition too - I don't know what letterbox had to do with anything, as they have these features and appear to be doing just fine.

Analogue triggers aside, the only other main issues I have with the WiiU gamepad is probably its weight and battery life. I don't mind if there's a screen involved again as long as it's put to some good use and doesn't affect the previous as much - but tbh if you'd have given me a choice between having the Gamepad or my 3DS as a controller I'd probably have gone for the latter for anything that didn't require extensive shoulder button usage. I enjoyed the pro controller though thought it didn't feel too solid, tbh Nintendo/NX could probably go for anything gamepaddy and I'd be happy with it. I've held a Xbone pad a couple times so maybe not enough to judge but tbh between XBone, 360, PS3 and PS4 pad I can't say I ever got terribly upset with having to use any of them(though I know some who do). Something with shoulders, triggers and clickable sticks would probably suit me fine for anything(again, that's if it didn't have a screen).

Can I easily add someone who I meet in game? Apparently not. Can I sent a message to someone I see or meet in game? Apparently not. Can I snap a photo or video and upload it easily to my social media? Apparently not. Can I easily capture a photo or video of an awesome moment I didn't expect to happen, hence had no preparation for recording it? Apparently not. Can I stream my gameplay live through popular channels without any extra kit? Apparently not. Do I have any issues playing on the competition's online, despite this being an absolutely irrelevant point and is jumped on when people use the competition as examples of something they find superior but apparently fine when used for comparisons as inferior? I do not. They aren't new issues. They aren't new questions. I had an opinion on something that needs to be considered with the NX, I've expressed it in the thread, I've now elaborated on it because I apparently needed to. Hopefully it's taken on board or appreciated, even if people don't agree with it. However I'm not going to labour a point to argue tit for tat on what will come down to a difference of opinion and bloody-mindedness.

Your opinion, which you're free to hold. You're free to continue with black and white thinking despite it being explained clearly what's being said, but it really isn't conducive to this place if you ask me. Whilst you're getting hung up on hard and fast dictionary definitions, 'flexibility' might be one worth considering. I don't know why when someone refers to it as 'infrastructure' someone takes that to mean 'Voice chat'. I have many issues with the online infrastructure of the WiiU/Nintendo systems - and I'll continue to use the term as it isn't just one thing, and appears to be overarching. You yourself bring up accounts and NNIDs - I refer to those too when I refer to the infrastructure of Nintendo's online. The fact is there's a mass of criticisms level-able at much of Nintendo's online, it's on a bigger level than just features and whatnot, hence why it invokes a term like infrastructure. Also from a quick google, guess what word gets used in a definition? There's some common things running throughout the whole of the WiiU's online implementation. I think it really needs to be corrected on a system level. Not just voice chat, but the adding of people to friends, accounts/purchases, options for sharing, good ways to play together easily etcetc. This for me is much bigger than just voice chat.

What price at? I have considered the risk of missing out on it completely, that I might pick it up at some point. Can't see myself actually getting round to it yet though.

Hello N-E! I'm doing a favour for someone at work and taking the old hard drive from a knackered laptop to put into a caddy so it can be used as an external hard drive. Having briefly explained USB 2.0 vs USB 3.0 to a not overly technical 60 year old lady, she's decided that 3.0 might be worth the extra bit if it's faster - but I'm just wondering if any of you have a good but cheap(sub £20) suggestion for a 3.0 2.5inch caddy? Seems to be lots of options on the market, but I don't know if there's really any much difference between them all - I've no idea how 'good' usb 3.0 devices and caddies actually are at hitting spec speeds.
-
People's meanings here are very clear, and it's well established on these boards that those 'features' Serebii refers to are the same things that others refer to as 'infrastructure'. I personally think they're certainly equitable, but I haven't time to get trolled down. Not sure how 'standard' the gamepad is without analogue shoulders either. Anyhow, I'd rather ask; Why bloody not if true?! If you were Nintendo and you had a big developer, why would you not ensure they had a dev kit regardless? I just don't get it. Sure, cost money etc but get that thing into people's hands!! They really need to cosy up to devs for the next system, and big devs being out there without a dev kit is absolute madness to me.
-
Very cool, not that I'd ever indulge. However I was just wondering if I'm basic for not knowing but - what item is that supposed to be in his hand in that one??
-
Soz mate, don't really like the game after all. Jk. One thing to the credit of the Nintendo board - we were good at getting some somewhat regular Splatoon happening despite the shit infrastructure! Anyhow suggest a day/time and is glad try my best to be online!
-
Yeah I been thinking that since @Shorty. We were just very unfortunate I think - I went to Mars today to do something and managed to chance by two VIP patrol missions! Just madness we didn't see any on the moon or, other than the one, on Venus - I was checking all the beacon spots for the latter! I'm off out in a few hours @Nintendo_Fan, but I still need those taken champions on earth if you are on and wanna run them at some point. Got my phone with me so a PS message will get me back to the console if I'm not on. Got another mission I'm struggling a bit on too though that's not a pressing thing(if you're cool to help).
-
I dunno, I found it pretty manageable in regular clash I think it was. If anything it was actually doing that which made me think a bit more about being too aggressive(thus dying and losing the heavy). Question on the sword quest - do you have to specifically use the exact sword shaxx gives you or does it matter if you've transferred from another character? Another question - the quest for someone where you have to kill 3 'high value target' patrols on each planet - there's no pre-rrquisitr to getting them right? Just RNG luck of the beacons? Me and Ninth were on the moon for aaaages last night and didn't get a single one, only managed to get one on Venus as well but I don't recall it being that hard to get/find them on my titan. Thanks again for joining! I think I was going a bit too leeroy on occasion leading to my deaths, so apologies for that! The grandest irony is that after I did those 5 heroic strikes for the quest the NEXT step turned out to be do a nightfall. So now I need to do another one! -.-
-
Hard story quests? Which ones? My Warlock has plenty of TTK quests to do so that might actually tick some of my boxes too! Pop me a message or so when you're on and wanna roll, I'm just at home this evening. I'll probably mic up for party chat this time too. EDIT: Any takers for a 3rd man for the nightfall? No idea what strike it actually is. Rolled out a 310 Telesto yesterday though so looking forward to sticking that on my Warlock if I've got a decent substitute primary.

It's worms! What's there to know! It is different but I must say the little blast of nostalgia of playing worms again was pretty nice. I really need to get more of a hands on with it to actually make my mind up - but me and my mate must have been playing for about 2 hours and that's not bad for a little £4!
-
I got a letter too - they're obliged to inform you in writing before they do it for exactly that reason. Are you sure all your contact details are accurate? I got mine a few weeks back now.

So starting chatting about this in PS4 general but decided to just make a thread for it. Anyone out there got it? Apparently a sort of port of some PC worms called Clan Wars, it's apparently set in a world historical museum(so landscape themes are from varied parts of the land and time) and has some voice work from Jen of IT crowd fame in the single player. I've only touched a bit of the latter, can't say it was blowing my mind. £4 on PSN, no idea what it's at on XBone but I thought hey, what's the worst that could happen?
-
I mean for £4 I'm sure it can't be terrible, but I'm not sure I'd have bought it if my mate hadn't been around nor how much I'll bother with it otherwise. Found it a bit strange(though it's been a while since I've played any worms games) in that the weapons/utilities available seem slightly randomised, and there's a ton which we had no idea what they did. On top of that there seems to be an option to 'buy' the weapons with coins, though I've no clue where said coins come from. There's also some special worm types which I don't wholly know what they do, but the fat one seemed fun at least. EDIT: Decided to make a thread. Any mod/admin's able to just shift the couple posts over into it?

Belated birthday wishes to you @lostmario! None for jay though. He got his on facebook already, greedy fuck.

Jumped in with @Nintendo Fan last night for a bit of Mayhem Rumble - this was one of my first noticed weekly modes when I was first new to the game and I loved it. Probably because I realised I could do well/have fun despite being shit and not knowing the maps. Fun to see that Ninty's loving it too! Wasn't actually doing as well as I hoped, but I'll blame it on the drinks I had :p. Stormtrance is crucible is feeling pretty beast for me - def feels more useful than my titan specials, though Ninty thinks he might be coveting the Hammer of Sol so maybe it's just a grass is greener thing. I might jump on mic next time, didn't last night as I had the TV on too and I've been told it carries through sometimes. Anyhow - really enjoying my Warlock and the differences it brings. Glad I still need to max as it's giving me plenty good reason to keep playing. On which note if you are on this eve @Nintendo Fan I'd be happy to join to do literally anything - need to play to get the xp so anything suits me really. Would anyone else here be up for joining us on a Nightfall strike at some point?

Buy-it-nows seem around the 70-90ish mark depending on included tings, but wasn't sure how well they sell at that. Might watch a couple auctions see what they end up at. For all I know the thing's gone by now, but I might pass regardless as I'm not sure if I've got anyone I could shift it to anyhow. Back to PS4 stuff - does anyone else out there have Worms Battlegrounds? Me and my mate were chilling t'other day so I bought it on a whim for £4, but it seems for a game that's been out a while there isn't very much out there or even a thread here! Can't complain for four quid espesh as we had a chuckle with a few matches, just wondering why it never had much about it - was after a guide/FAQ to answer some questions and surprised to see no such thing exists. Maybe not too surprising as it isn't exactly groundbreaking on the worms formula, but it's got some differences to it I'm not wholly used to yet.

Now that would be telling... (I've no idea just wanted to make the terrible joke)

Oh yeah I meant second hand - just seen an advert on work e-noticeboard dealie of one going for about £90 with TLOU, Fifa 12 and GT5. I don't need it, but I was thinking of grabbing it and selling to someone who might - just no idea what sort of price it should be going for/could go on for!
