Because they're consistent
-
Not to mention most TV's are only setup to show 50 or 60 fps. And IIRC most movies are 25fps. I don't think fps really matters that much, as long as it's consistent. If something is running at 30fps it should stay at that framerate throughout the game. In my eye's slowdown on a console is pretty much unforgivable except in extreme circumstances. IMO if a developer wants to have some really great graphics at the expense of framerate, they should have an option to turn those great graphics to normal graphics that run at a consistent frame rate. Oh and at the time I thought Goldeneye had a horrendous framerate. But I was a bit of a PC snob at the time and looked down on consoles. I suppose you could say I was a "Hardcore" gamer and looked down on the "Casual" console games. I grew out of that

Looking at this I'd say 4

Yep I know it's just a shell, but I guess they'd still be an option in the main campain of MoH to say if your using the zapper or not. Otherwise you'll have to hold the whole zapper up on your shoulder to use the rocket launcher. And talk from the producer of the game seems to suggest that they'll be multiplayer games setup for just zapper users. source: http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x3cnzr_medal-of-honor-heroes-2-developer-i_videogames

You don't need to use the zapper if you dont want to. The only part it's really used in is the arcade mode, and even in that mode there's an option to just use them seperatly.

It always bothered me, I think mainly because back in the days of the N64 I was more into PC gaming. And then if a game ran slow it ment it was time to upgrade, not having that option on a console really annoyed me if a console game ran slow.

Not sure about LAN, but looking on the offical website if shows an icon in the bottom right showing two Wii Remotes, so it looks like it'll have some form of split screen action.

Just to back this up, the official quote from the Email NoE sent out.

Not to mention that I've always found as I got older that kids that play games were better than me. I think from what I've read/watched the main critisim is that the tilt mechanic doesnt work too well for making precise jumps. I think Monkey Ball coped quite well with this due to it's always behind camera. This is a problem I had with Mercury Meltdown too, on sections where you had to fall from one place to the other it could be difficult to judge the correct angle. Saying that, I still loved Mercury Meltdown, so I can't see this getting on my nerves too much.

It seems that no one is obeying these rules, but regardless of all the posts saying how much fun your having. I refuse to believe that you are playing it, and you are posting this all as a big joke. That is what is happening and nothing you say will convince me otherwise. Ignorance is bliss

Sorry guys but as I don't have my Wii back from Nintendo yet, that unfortunatly means that you can't play your copies of MP3 until I can. Sorry, dems the rules.

Add me to the Buy list, if I ever get my Wii back from nintendo.

For me, playing 16/32(can't remember the max at the time) player quake online was much easier as I didn't own a N64. And worked in an internet cafe at the time. It's only recently that I got the hang of playing FPS's on a control pad, and goldeneye whilst being good, I never held in the same light as mulitplayer quake. So fast, so hectic, so much fun. I think with quake it was closer to the other way around with the multiplayer being the main focus and the single player took a back seat. Hence the first demo/beta released was an online multiplayer one, and the single player wasn't that great.

My list is looking a bit like this Metroid Prime 3 (Launch) Mario Galaxy (Launch) Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga (Maybe*) Rayman: Raving Rabbids 2 (Xmas Pressie) Mario & Sonic At The Olympic Games (Most probably) Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles (Between Xmas & New year) Zack & Wiki: Quest For Barbaros' Treasure (Launch) Ghost Squad (I want this too.....credit card) Nitrobike (Maybe*) Tomb Raider: Anniversary (*Xmas Pressie for gf, sneaky) *Depending on reviews

I agree, and add, that MS just felt so boring and slow compared to ET. I've only played a few races on MS, but I don't want to play it again. One race I was in front for the whole 3 laps, and just wanted to go to sleep. My friend who owns a PS3 (sold his Wii, fool!) explained it to me like this, it's like ET but without the stupid jumps and stunts. To which I replied "But those are the best bits!"

I think it must be the programs you watch as I've seen loads of Nintendo adverts on TV. And most programs I watch I sky+ so fast forward through them alot of the time, but still manage to see a nintendo one and have a look at it. The most recent ones being Super Paper Mario, Trauma Center and Big Brain Academy, oh and I've seen that brain age 2 one loads of times. I don't see them as much now, but earlier in the year alot of the comedy shows on UKTVG2 were sponsered by the DS too.

Have you copied anything over recently? As before sending my Wii back to ninty I copied over all of my save games and stuff. Expecting to be there for ages because I wanted to copy the VC stuff aswell. But it was surprisingly quick, so maybe the speed of this has been updated in a firmware update. Oh and the bus speed can't be that slow as it streams MP3's in excite truck, okay they're not the biggest of files. But I'm pretty sure to stream an MP3 needs a semi decent transfer rate.

How big is the Wii? Not as big as a 360 HD DVD drive it would seem!!!
steggy replied to dannbrownn's topic in Nintendo Gaming
I agree a hard drive of the same shape, maybe the same size or possibly smaller would be nice. They my have to use a smaller laptop sized HDD for this though, as a standard sized HDD is almost the same size as the Wii. I don't think the Wii has the power to play HD DVD's to be honest. I've recently built a Media Centre PC, and the general concesus is to get as powerful a processor as possible. Or a Graphics card with .264 decoding. Decoding .264 is very processor intensive and is the standard some HD-DVD use. I brought a Dual Core Athlon 4200+ (2.2 GHz) and when playing a HD-DVD it sits at about 60% CPU usage. Usually when it comes to the Wii I normally sit in the "Wii can do better than people think" camp, but for the HD-DVD I don't think it can handle it. -
Yeah I was thinking the same, they seem to have a slight mario galaxy look to them.

I guess by the "Lungs" meter on the HUD that the main character isn't a smoker
-
I think you can get a good deal on that at DFS.

A couple of screen shots from IGN to emphasize this

if there's one thing I can't stand it's slow down, in my opinion there's no excuse for it on consoles. All the consoles are the same, so framerate issues should be sorted out whilst in development. IMO PSX graphics with 60 FPS > PS3 graphics with slow down. Hence why I used to play HL2 in 640x480, blocky as hell but oh so smooth

oic I stand corrected. Forgot about the special/smash mechanic for a second there.

Yes we did. :p
