Erm... Well I think Nintendo has a habit of making mistkaes each generation (since the SNES) which has cost them big. Cartridges instead of CDs with the N64 (which still managed to spawn far more classics that'll be remembered forever than the PS1 and PS2 put together). The whole purple thing with the Gamecube and lack of DVD playback. Now the graphical issues with Wii, which I sincerely hope won't hold it back. However to state that Wii will finish third is slightly naive. The fact that the XBOX360 has been outsold by the likes of the Gameboy advance and even the Gamecube in Japan this year says a lot - not everyone is obsessed by HD and graphical leaps. The Wii can make great leaps for Nintendo, especially in Japan. It might have more trouble in the West. But with the PS3's absurd price and the fact the 360 hasn't exactly set the world alight as of yet it could be anyone's generation this time. If I was to make any prediction it would be that Sony won't dominate in the same way they did with PS2.

It's all in the Gamecube version, including the fishing. The only difference is you don't get to jump around your living room flinging the Wii-mote like a fishing rod! I sincerely hope we NEVER see Tingle again. He's the Jar Jar Binks of the Zelda universe lol.

What are you doing to waste your time till Wii?
Zechs Merquise replied to flameboy's topic in Nintendo Gaming
I've just played through Killer 7 and am at the end now, what a confusing nonsensical plot. Very cool though I've also been busy with both Donley Konga and Rainbow Six Lockdown. -
Bizarre, we all had N64s at my school, Goldeneye was a real system system seller. We all loved that game so much. I reckon I never had so much fun with a game as I did with that.

Buggy? Well as you don't have a copy I won't be taking your word for it. Now i've critisced some of Nintendo's recent decisions, but I've not heard anyone saying Wii games are buggy. I think there are a lot of people on these boards who need to learn some debating skills and not attack people for posting justified criticsm, but posting up crap which has no foundation what-so-ever is just very silly indeed.
-
Knowing our luck Nintendo will totally shaft Europe and we won;t even get a single copy!

See, an intelligent response. People may not agree with what Arnie 360 has to say, but at least he's not stooping to the childish levels that Hellfire is. I personally think he raises valid points, and people may well have a problem paying such a price tag for what is essentially old hardware.
-
Wii has the best chance in Japan, I think it could even reclaim that territory for Nintendo, it may even eclipse the DS, who knows. But I can't see the same thing happening in Europe or the US...
-
Well, I was just happy to see the vast improvement in graphics from the extremely disappointing screens released before.
-
I'll pick up both versions, as I have all the Nintendo home console Zeldas. However I'm looking forward to the Gamecube version more!
-
Arnie 360 is entitled to his opinion. You're the only one saying that people are idiots. If Arnie 360's opinion was put over in a slightly inflammatory way, so be it, but he hasn't stooped to telling people to 'go and die' or saying people have 'problems' because they want to play Zelda with traditional controls.
-
What a stupid response. This is exactly what Nintendo has done. They've moved Zelda: TTP to Wii to boost sales - it's simple business sense. It's one of the world's biggest game franchises, it's the most anticipated insalment since Zelda: OOT so to move it onto the Wii was logical. I have no problem with that - what I have a problem with is being FORCED to play it with new controls. I wouldn't mind if it only came out on Wii, as long as I could choose how I controled it. If certain people on this forum are correct then everyone would choose to play it with the Wii-mote simply as it'd play soooo much better.
-
I think they look pretty good, they're certainly a lot better than most Wii games, and look very clean.
-
Ooooh, some pretty good looking screens, better than the rubbish we saw before! I really hope this game fulfils it's potential, as I really want this one!
-
Yeah, I'm thinking of buying a 360, I don't quite think I could sell my sould and go PS3, but 360 is a nice compromise. I've never owned a non-Nintendo console, but this generation I don't think the Wii is going to be able to give me all I need.
-
lol that's better!!! I actually remember falling out with kids in the playground over these very issues, school was ace lol
-
No, some people who have played it are enthusiastic, some are not. Infact some sites have written open letters to Nintendo about this very issue. I bet there are even petitions floating about on this very topic. The evolution of the Zelda series does not rest on this new controller either. This game was not even meant for the Wii, it's only been ported over to boost the Wii's launch line up and boost initial sales.
-
Yeah the link is weird! I love ebay, I love the idiots who get scammed even more, they're just amusing!
-
How do the new controls make this game MUCH better? Wii-mote controls won't make every game magically better. It'll be very much like the DS, many games will have Wii-mote features popped into them which won't even fit properly. It seems many gamers are really unhappy about the cahnge in controls. It's not a loss to be playing the GC version, that's how the game was designed to be played.

Nah, give me the RCP-90 from Goldeneye any day of the week!
-
I think the graphics look good on this one, at least it's not some bloody N64 look-a-like. I've seen better though.
-
Right... anymore of this Megadrive is better nonsense and the culprits can meet me behind the bike sheds at lunch break to sort it out!!! lol
-
Cant see this coming out over here and thats a good thing!
Zechs Merquise replied to Cookyman's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Hey, why is this not coming out over here!!! I'm enraged, us European's have burned our fair share of witches in the past, I demand this game. Online petition to be started! lol -
Often console shortages are 'manufactured' at launch for two reasons: Firstly to create a buzz around the launch and the ensuing panic as people think they can't get their console leads to newspaper headlines etc which is nice free publicity. Secondly a lot of manufacturers love to claim that their new product sold out within 'x' many hours. I can just see the PS3 headlines: 'Most wanted Christmas toy EVER EVER EVER, sold out everywhere, parents fight in the street, console goes for over $2000 on ebay' The Nintendo headlines will be very different, and will only appear in industry analysts' columns: 'Nintendo sell millions of extra Wiis as parents pick them up due to PS3 shortage'.
-
I doubt there will be any shortage, this is one thing that no one can argue that Nintendo will get wrong. They have already stated they have plentiful supplies.
