Fair enough, I'll find out at the time I suppose. Juniors final starts in about 10 minutes, then it's the seniors and then the Masters final. At the moment the Twitch chat is getting salty over the result of the TCG Masters final. A judge's call had a major impact on the direction of the game.

Once when I was playing on Pokemon Online (the fan server before Pokemon Showdown existed) as part of a tournament on another forum and I had a Gengar on my team. I decided to teach it Thunderbolt and because of that I was able to one hit KO my opponent's Tornadus and they got extremely salty over it because "you don't teach Gengar Thunderbolt". Who are the finalists for VGC btw? My current interest in Pokemon has been closer to the card game than the video games so I haven't been following VGC. Though, I have heard of this epic one hour game in the TCG between one of the finalists and a Pidgeotto control deck that went on for so long that they didn't have time for any other games to be played after the initial game.

OK, that part is pretty hilarious! Grand Final Day today. At least WolfeyGlick isn't going to win it again...

Enjoy Ranked Battles while they last, they probably won't be in any game past Gen 8! Also, watching the TCG stream in Worlds. There was a guy playing a Fire based deck and his first name just so happened to be Blaine. They also teased a new mechanic for Sword and Shield's trading card game expansion which is called "V" and it looks like the cards will have over 300 HP. Dynamaxed Pokemon cards might actually be a thing!

N-Europe's Top 10 (Voting over, check first post for results)

Heh, this is the last one and it's the first time I can recall one of my nominations not making the list. I'll send the PM over to you shortly. -

Just realised I haven't nominated for Wii U yet so here goes: Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Batman: Arkham City Super Mario Maker Xenoblade Chronicles X -
Nintendo Switch Online subscription came to an end yesterday which means for now I no longer have access to the world of Super Mario Maker's online functionality. I finished on about 12 uploaded courses which I think will still remain on there. If non-paying users have their levels deleted from online no matter how good or bad they are (I expect Nintendo Quality Control will come in at some point to delete unplayed bad levels. Might renew in the future and it gives more time to experiement and come up with something good. My attention in this game now turns to trying to beat the Story Mode. I am over 50% completion in regards to rebuilding Princess Peach's Castle so a fair amount of progress made so far. Delved into the hidden areas of the hubworld a bit more as more and more characters show up with their own levels. And I finally unlocked a major new powerup for use in level making. Also, this powerup is used in an amazing level which I played last night though it's on the most starred courses list so chances are you've played it already. It's the Spaceship one.

What I thought I'd be playing in July: Super Mario Maker 2 Hollow Knight Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 What I actually ended up playing in July: Super Mario Maker 2 Pokemon Trading Card game Online Magic The Gathering Arena YGOPRO Percy This is a slight concern as I bought a month's subscription for Nintendo Switch online and barely used it aside from uploading about 12 Mario Maker Levels and a few Smash Bros. stages and characters.

Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 ( Switch Exclusive )

Decided to skip this game in the end. The collective reviews suggested that this wasn't really a must play as cool as it looks and I have other games I need to finish or am involved in. -

Aw bugger, I knew I hadn't sent my votes in for the Wii games and then I go and leave this site for a few days for differing reasons and miss out on being able to cast votes on one of my favourite games for the list. Hopefully it still makes the top 10... Anyway, that's in the past and now the 3DS nominations have started so I'll go ahead and make my nominations: Pokemon Sun and Moon Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds Metroid: Samus Returns Mario & Luigi Dream Team EDIT: Not that it will make any difference to the list but my nominations would have gone to Okami, Xenoblade Chronicles and Donkey Kong Country Returns. The first two are in my top 5 favourite games of all time which is why I'm gutted at missing out on Wii in particular. -
Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz HD - 29th October 2019
Aperson replied to Tim B's topic in Nintendo Gaming
The first two Monkey Ball games were developed by Amusement Vision who were absorbed into SEGA during the Sammy takeover. The same company that also made F-Zero GX. I don't think they could do just a straight up port of the game without removing stuff like the stage shaped like the Amusement Vision logo but even that wouldn't take too much work surely? I don't think Sega really knows what to do with Monkey Ball, it was a smash hit during the transition to becoming a third party publisher and gave SEGA another franchise they could bring to consoles but... this is the same SEGA who was also around during a time when Sonic was starting to be run into the ground. They never understood what really made the original games so good and sadly this franchise has seen a general decline. Super Monkey Ball is one of the hardest games I've ever played. The skill level is immense especially considering you play the entire game with just an analogue stick and it's not surprising that you often see these in Games Done Quick Marathons. Absolving Amusement Vision into SEGA seems to be the turning point for Monkey Ball. I never played Banana Blitz but the reviews at the time turned me off as it seems they were turning towards gimmicks more to help sell the game. That being said, I didn't get the other Wii tilting game, Kororinpa, either. -
New Switch revision announced (NOT the Switch Lite!)
Aperson replied to Dcubed's topic in Nintendo Gaming
I guess this is what that rumoured "Switch Pro" was all along... -
Been addicted to Pokemon Trading Card Game Online (PC) recently. I've played a lot and appreciate how it's possible to build funds without having to spend real life money. I obtained two Zoroark GX through gameplay and then used in-game currency to buy a deck with two Zorua in it. I then proceeded to put this combo in every single deck because the card is just ridiculously good. Fits into any deck, it's own ability can help it's main attack even though it's not the most powerful of moves by modern standards even at max power. It can sweep through many Pokemon if given the right support though. Also been playing Super Mario Maker 2 (Nintendo Switch) though perhaps not as much as I was expecting to. Actually it's been a while since I made a level on the game. I have played a fair bit of story mode and built much of the castle, working on the second tiers of all three sections of the castle.

I played Other M. I missed one item and left it at 99% completion. Never touched it again. -
Oh well, it was worth a shot. If anyone's on Pokemon TCG Online you're welcome to send me a friend invite. I only really play with the Expanded format in terms of decks but I've got a bit of a variety in terms of decks, like a game where this happened: I may also consider downloading Magic Arena in the future on something (how much space does the mobile version take up?) and if I do you're welcome to add me on there.

OK, this tells me very much that someone at GameFreak is a huge Godzilla/Ultraman fan because of the idea that only massive Pokemon can take down other massive Pokemon. I will reserve judgement on the whole mechanic until I get a chance at playing it myself.

Super Mario Maker 2 - Level Share/Feedback thread
Aperson replied to Ronnie's topic in Nintendo Gaming
OK, I think some things about the Snow Go level need to be explained. As stated, it's meant to be a recreation of the same level from Crash Bandicoot 2 and as such there are a few level objects that seem a bit odd. What I did was recreate the terrain (for the most part, the death route had to be shortened due to lack of room in the sub-area) and replace Penta Penguins with Paloombas, seels with Koopa Troopas, the context squashers with Thowmp, the pistons with scewers and the hedgehogs with spinies. As to why there is a random ON/OFF switch in the level at the second checkpoint, that is the location of the Nitro Switch Box in Crash 2 which detonates all the Nitro Boxes. The Nitro Boxes in this instance however were non explosive due to the level being recreated in a different platformer and denoted by the red blocks which change to blue when you hit the ON/OFF switch. The 10 coins were meant to be the Crystal that you pick up in the level and the Clear Gem that you can get for breaking all the boxes except in this case there is no way to keep track of that so I ended up just putting the coin there. The two red coins are meant to represent the Red Gem that you are supposed to get by completing the secret area. Note "supposed" to. However... Yeah, you can get it early. Applying New Super Mario Bros. physics to this does change how the level works so I can understand if people might not like the level but I wanted to be an exact recreation of it's original source right down to using close replacements for the tiny details even if they have no relevance on Mario gameplay. This is what autism can drive you to do... Anyway, I did recently make another recreation level but this time based on an actual Mario game, which hopefully means it fares better. It's another Super Mario 64 recreation and it's the final main level from that game, Rainbow Ride. -
At least one thing in every "true" leak is fake as it's just info thrown in by the leaker to make people think that such a thing is in the game when in fact it isn't. Or, that thing is taken out of the game for whatever reason.
-
To be honest, the whole nature of these games means I'm not getting hyped for them in the same way as I did with Sun and Moon. Game Freak may claim they are trying to make this game the best possible game in the series but everything going on surrounding this game claims otherwise. That said, I definiately want to use a Yupper on my team. Sucker for Dog Pokemon that aren't Normal, I used an Arcanine in White 2 and a Lycanroc in Moon.

Super Mario Maker 2 - Level Share/Feedback thread
Aperson replied to Ronnie's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Made a new level recently, it's a recreation of the level Snow Go from Crash Bandicoot 2. I am aware that there is a way to cheat out the red coin positioning but in the original game a similar exploit allowed you to get the Red Gem early so I think I will leave that in as a reference. I won't post the level code here simply because this may also be a level I pull to make some changes but since it's meant to be a recreation of another level from a different platformer significant layout changes are out of the question. -
Super Mario Maker 2 - Level Share/Feedback thread
Aperson replied to Ronnie's topic in Nintendo Gaming
OK, all courses are back online after some tweaks or major redesigns. Beetle Drop is now Beetle Drop Redux. It's new ID is in the picture below Boss Rush 2 has also been reuploaded with some tweaks to fix the unintended softlock, easy Bowser kill and a more involved Thwomp Boss Fight. Again, new ID in the picture below. Right, I think that's enough tweaks for trying to be a perfectionist and pulling levels down because there was something people didn't like about them or if there were any genuine level breaking bugs. I think it's time to start thinking about a brand new level from scratch. -
Super Mario Maker 2 - Level Share/Feedback thread
Aperson replied to Ronnie's topic in Nintendo Gaming
OK, so I am trying to redevelop the Beetle Drop level from scratch to reduce the harshness in punishment. In order to do so I decided to use doors as a reset mechanic and replace the floor trap pits with giant spinies that you can't avoid if you fail. However, there is one problem with the doors mechanic, the question mark block doesn't reset if you reload the room without dying. The entire puzzles are now just one screen puzzles which is what they should have been all along really. I would appreciate anyone's help to try and figure out how to do this. EDIT: Never mind, it was just a question of changing the question mark block to a brick block that doesn't break when small Mario touches it. -

Oh boy, this is the first console with TWO of my top 5 games of all time on it. It is therefore a no brainer that both of these go on here. Okami Xenoblade Chronicles Donkey Kong Country Returns Metroid Prime 3: Corruption Super Mario Galaxy 2 -
Thought this would be a good idea to setup. I don't know how many people on here actually play these card games other than @Jonnas and @EEVILMURRAY but if there's anyone else you're welcome to join in. So yeah, this is exactly what it says on the tin, a general thread for trading card game discussion and also a hub for online games. All card games of the physical variety are welcome for discussion but I think we all know that the big three are Pokemon, Magic and Yugioh. One of those could be covered as part of the General Nintendo section but I don't think there's any other place Magic and Yugioh could go. Pokemon Trading Card Game Online: https://www.pokemon.com/uk/pokemon-tcg/play-online/ Magic The Gathering Arena: https://magic.wizards.com/en/mtgarena YGPRO Percy (fanmade server since Konami doesn't have their own version https://dl.orangedox.com/fUt3h5t4qKDDvrAQs4 I personally have recently been playing Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh quite a bit. I have got to grips with Pokemon quite easily but I also want to get better at Yu-Gi-Oh after struggling to memorise the Salamangreat combo and subsequenly deciding I didn't want to play anymore because I did it wrong. Any advice on improving at this game would be appreciated.

Maybe we should make a general trading card game thread so we can talk about general stuff going on in Pokemon, Magic and Yu-Gi-Oh including new decks and cards and such. Also could be a hub for playing online against each other on PTCGO, Arena and Percy.
