Cool, Crota's End Hard Raid (With a 3x Crota run (and any other requests)). What time is good for everyone? 8pm? So, people who are in... Me @DriftKaiser @Eddage @MilaGi @Blade So there's one more space. Roll up, roll up! *Begins prayer for Crux*
  2. Not been to the gym since Monday because I've been out of the country. Going to do shoulders today. Can't wait. The few days off should have done me good, too. In a weird way this made it a little easier for me. I'd just look at the food and say NO! (In my head) And that made it easy to not eat. But then I'm a stubborn fucker.

Three new ghosts in Crota's End Raid. Anyone up for running it tonight on Hard? (Also, I still need the Crux) @kav82 @Map and anyone else.

I'm really feeling the hit to Dis/Int/Str stats. Hopefully it's just a way of forcing out old kit but I tend to use my whole arsenal on PvP – pre-nading is my jam, as well as using grenades defensively – and needing 43 seconds to recharge my grenade at Tier 3 is crazy. Whereas before I had Dis and Int basically maxed at the cost of no strength. Also, with the meta now changed, I keep changing my set-up every few minutes. Look forward to settling on a load-out at some point. Noticed a few more nerfs – along with the axiom bolt nerf which I think is a little bullshit – like how Voidfang now doesn't spawn you with double grenades anymore. Along with the now terrible grenade recharge time during Radiance, the whole thing is kind of turning me off Warlock. Seriously, it's not a particularly over-powered super as it is in PvP (in fact, it takes a lot of skill to use aggressively) unless it's Trials and you need self-res. I think Radiant Skin is awful, too. Think I might just run my Hunter in PvP instead. GG is still clearly the best Super around. In fact, in 6v6, I'd say it goes GG > FoH > Bubble > Blade > Nova Bomb > Titan T-rex Punch > Radiance. And these new maps favour precision supers so much, like Blade Dancer and GG.
  5. And you won't hear me argue Sony should stay in the handheld business. So yeah...your point, what is it?

I'm back from France and I gave Rifta go and its fucking rad. Anyone on tonight? I might be.
  7. If you ignore portables, which Nintendo has a formidable record, the Wii is the statistical anomaly, not the Wii U; progressively decreasing sales for each home console. It doesn't matter the reason, third party or not, the portfolio of games is patchy. and variety doesn't mean that they have filled every genre covered. We've already had the Amiibo discussion. There are upsides and downsides. Again, ignoring the other market that is portables – that Nintendo is very successful in – the Wii is a statistical anomaly. No one who is good at business, goes from selling over 100 million units of a console to 10 million and crawling. [Edit: WITH a whole year's head-start on the competition, lest we forget.] And, obviously totally anecdotally (manly from people I know who are teachers), kids seem to care much more about Minecraft and superheroes than a fat italian plumber. And playing the 3DS? I see more kids playing on their phones. But this is a pointless 'I saw this/I saw that' argument. You'd have to look at things like social media, like this.
  8. Isn't the proof in the pudding? One successful console launch, one less successful (the 3DS) though rectified to an extent in a market that is being eaten away at by other mobile devices and an absolutely abysmal console launch, the Wii U. The inability to build on the success of the Wii, including no serious investment in Western studios – the West taking over from Japan as the home of videogames for at least a decade now. Only one new AAA IP that captured any of the public's imagination, Splatoon. A patchy portfolio of games; no racing sims, no FIFA, no standard fighting games, no great narratives, etc. (Probably got some of those wrong but you get the point) The move into microstransaction with Amiibos. A move into QoL devices which I would be amazed if they could compete in. Iwata knew his games but I think it was pretty evident he didn't really have a clue about business. Nintendo's mind-share is is ever decreasing and I don't think they'll ever get it back. People don't grow up with Nintendo nowadays. Kids play Xbox and Minecraft and Playstation and Candy Crush.
  9. Had a bit of a weird gym session. Did 105kg on bench for five, with the fifth rep needing some assistance. Then dropped to 100kg, same thing, needed help on the fifth. Then did 100kg again and only managed three. Then dropped to 90kg for 6. And then did 80kg for 10 (I think – might even have been 70kg – at that point I just felt bad for having ballsed up my third set and just not being able to push through at all). I'm happy with hitting 105kg, even if the final rep was a bit lacking. I'm happy that I haven't compromised my form at all. I'm always touching the bar to my chest, which kind of pains me because sometimes I do it knowing I'm going to fail on the push up. BUT, I've become so insistent on maintaining good form that that is what is important to me, it's just frustrating, too. Spent the rest of the session doing biceps and triceps. Which wasn't the plan but I wasn't n the mood to suck at chest any more. How s everyone else doing with chest? Any similar issues? Or some advice?
  10. Communication is so super important. And it's not about agreeing on things or reaching compromises – being autonomous and communicating are not mutually exclusive – it's about being part of someone's life. Ideally, both Murr and his Part-Murr (I'm hilarious) would have had both looked into contraceptive options together previously. Then this would have been avoided. I think it's a bit unfair to trust her to deal with the choice of contraception – to the point of not knowing the pill can have side effects – and then have an issue when she changes it. But what's important is that you've talked about it now, so it's a win. Communication yay.

Anyone want to run Crota on Hard tonight? Or on Thursday? I got my third and final Elder Cypher on Saturday – which should auto-complete with 2.0 tomorrow – which means the only thing I don't have is the Crux (And the Graverobber sparrow, but but whatever).

AWWWWW YISSSS! Booked my holiday for Friday the 18th. Can't wait!!
  13. This might be a small thing, but when you put someone on your ignore list, you can still see that they've posted and it only takes one curious click to see their post. Is there ay way to hide their post completely? How about shadow-banning people for a period? You've all probably talked about this numerous times but I didn't think it'd hurt to chime in.

Also, you'll be able to jump instantly to lvl 25 from what I understand.
  15. Ha! I meant just to give it a go. Congrats @Rummy Welcome to the club!
  16. Most the time I thin the story is so fucking convoluted that that playing the other games doesn't matter. Thank god the other half is obsessed with MGS because I just sit there playing it going 'Who's that?', 'What are they talking about?', 'Why am I here?' It becomes mildly existential. Basically, I think you might as well watch story recaps on YouTube. And play MGS3 because it a bloody brilliant game with one of – if not the best – video game endings ever.
  17. I'm certain there are better options for £10. I would say Killzone Shadow Fall is a better game. You should ask @Fierce_LiNk if he'd let you Share Play it.
  18. Do yourself a favour and don't get Watch Dogs. Get Infamous instead or something. Also, added you on PSN.
  19. That sounds perfect. Cheers!
  20. Sweet. Are there any natural breaks like Chapters or Episodes?

    Destiny

Sweet. If everyone who's interested says, I'll got through the thread and compile a list next Friday and we can sort out another raid team (maybe even a third), as well as confirm the first, potential alt runs etc, etc. The 18th is still really far off.

    Destiny

Ditto. Fully unlocking all those subclasses should take a while, too.
  23. I think it's something we plan to keep meeting up for and play over a while. Like Dungeons and Dragon or something.
  24. No, you will literally be savng all of the moneyz if you just by the new Taken King. TTK expansion DLC is £40 on PSN. The entirety of Destiny including all the previous DLC and The Taken King is £42 on Amazon. It's a joke.
  25. I enjoyed Heavy Rain for the same reasons. It's always great when a game tries something new even if it does fall a bit flat hear and there. And you know, we might not have Until Dawn if it wasn't for Heavy Rain and I will always look forward to the next Quantic Dream game because despite their shortfalls they never fail to make gripping games.
