  1. Launch trailer: Kind of hilarious that every trailer for this game was a big ol' chunky thing, and the launch trailer is just...52 seconds long? Hey now, I'll have you know that Mario and Luigi have been having a tough time since the plumbing business went under and that dressing up like this for birthday parties was purely a last resort
  2. Rugrats has been out since 1991, Glen, are you doing okay?
  3. Ubisoft be reacting all over the shop – this is coming to Steam on November 21st! This from their Trading Update.
  4. Demo is up people! Think I'll wait, with how long this game has been touted as being I think I might hold out until I'm off over Christmas.
  5. Hahahahahahahaha At least they're honest
  6. Reviews are dropping left and right: Early doors of course, but the game is currently at an 87 on Metacritic and an 86 on OpenCritic, for those that care General consensus seems to be that it's very good! Might watch a review or two later myself as I probably won't get to this until later on in the year with all the other wonderful games dropping
  7. You can't hint at one of the most randomly funny scenes and not share it! If this is what games become, I won't be complaining
  8. So what you're saying is... A 3RD SCREEN?!
  9. Somehow, the Wii U has returned
  10. Looks like a demo for the game is going to drop very soon, already seems to be up in some territories:
  11. Per the New York Times, Ghost of Tsushima has now sold over 13 million copies – up a good bit over 3 million copies in the 2 ¼ years since the last sales update! Fantastic stuff. Just reading back through the thread, forgot the reception to the game on here was a bit mixed, to put it lightly @Hero-of-Time did you ever end up going back to give it another go?
  12. More info coming out now. Firstly, our protagonist is Atsu, voiced by none other than the awesome Erika Ishii! They have probably most notably voiced Valkyrie in Apex Legends, but Erika is also a regular on Dimension 20, has appeared on Critical Role, and some other similar shows in that corner of the internet, which is probably where I know them best from. So yeah, that's awesome! Additionally, some folks from Sucker Punch sat down with the New York Times, and there's some interesting stuff in there: most of note, to me, is this being "the beginning of a franchise that will include a movie and other spinoffs" following the success of Ghost of Tsushima, and that Yōtei will be a "linchpin to a series or tightly choreographed efforts from Sony to transform the series into a larger entertainment franchise" Super interesting stuff.
  13. Let the depraved become even more so in the game's NieR: Automata DLC: Of course this is the DLC that adds the Photo Mode *places order*
  14. Turns out this wonderful collection is, unsurprisingly, coming to just about everything! I'll get the tags updated – @Ashley any chance you could move this thread over to Nintendo Gaming please?
  15. Looks like it's also coming to all other major platforms, too! I'll get the tags added! @Ashley any chance you could move this over to Nintendo Gaming please?
  16. Square Enix dropped a different pre-order trailer to follow up the release date trailer:
  17. November 14th it is, folks: Dragon Quest III HD-2D drops the same day, so that's sure to be a jolly weekend!
  18. Well there it is, the long-rumoured remaster of Zero Dawn arrives on PS5 and PC on October 31st, with a $10 upgrade path available for owners of the original game:
  19. Chroma Collection of controllers are plates announced during the State of Play: Damn, the Teal one is a while off @Ike! Kind of wild to announce these, have then up for pre-orders and have the first two colours all happen in a similar timeframe to the 30th anniversary collection announced just last week. We also got another PS5 Pro sizzle reel with some gameplay footage of some other games:
  20. This is going to make a beautiful cover: First word from Sucker Punch on the game has just dropped in the PS Blog, written up by none other than Andrew Goldfarb, formerly of IGN! Some beautiful shots of the game shared in that blog post, too. To grab some details of note: • set over 300 years after the events of Ghost of Tsushima, Sucker Punch are focusing on the "Ghost" rather than picking up with Jin Sakai. • located in the lands surrounding Mount Yōtei in Ezo, or what is known today in Japan as Hokkaido. • this area was outside the law of Japan in 1603, "a far cry from the organized samurai clans who lived in Tsushima." • built from the ground up for PS5. • new mechanics, gameplay improvements, new weapons. I was already thinking of replacing Ghost of Tsushima next year, but with this one the way, I guess it's all but locked in. Being set in Hokkaido and the snowy region of Japan? This has Fall 2025 written all over it, I feel. Can't wait
  21. I won't lie I blacked out after seeing the white one I was asking for So let me just watch it back and I'll get back to you UPDATE: Alright thanks @Ike I guess I'm getting both
  22. Yeah, I need to tally it up So we got • Astro DLC I've been begging for more details on, still waiting on that release date • Lunar Remastered Collection • Fantasian release date • Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 1 & 2 Remastered • Monster Hunter Wilds release date • Dino Crisis and Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain coming to PS+ Classics • Ghost of Yōtei On top of that we got the Palworld shadow drop which is huge - even more so with Nintendo's lawsuit having just been announced - I kind of dig Archeage Chronicles, and if it's fully multiplayer so I can finally convince my friends to play a Souls game with me I'm totally in, and I want that white DualSense because I saw it in Astro and loved it. The Last of Us Part I on PS+ now makes sense - 2 years since launch, somehow, already - and some cool games in PS+ Essentials this month, want to give Dead Space a look (perfectly timed for Halloween) and WWE 2K24 is one me and my friends have been waiting for to land on the service. Let's see, looking back at my list... On top of that, Lunar to me takes that JRPG slot I was hoping Final Fantasy or Dragon Quest would take with just how big of a deal that is, I was convinced I wouldn't be able to play those games with how ridiculous the resale prices of the PS1 versions of the games are, before even mentioning that they're coming out over here for the first time. I feel like Michael Huber right now, I won't lie. Nailed the LEGO Horizon date, got the Tsushima sequel and Astro Bot DLC details in the first State of Play I ask for them specifically, and that dazzling white DualSense I wanted after seeing it in Astro Bot. I knew they'd make that a thing! That's a 9/10 for me, and as someone who really, really sets the bar high for higher scores when it comes to events – this was just kind of everything I think it needed to be for PlayStation right now. I think a second PlayStation Studios bomb being dropped is what would have pushed it higher. Put us in our place with Yōtei, didn't bring Days Gone Remastered, hell they didn't even show the Until Dawn Remake did they?! Which is wild because that's just a few weeks away! They knew the upper limit on first-party remasters was one, and they made the right decision showing only Horizon I think.
  23. Haha yep, those sneaky bastards totally got me I love a good takeout, I remembered Tsushima was 1274 when we saw "1603" and thought it was Rise of Ronin DLC. So that was a total rollercoaster. I need to tally it up but that was the best State of Play in A WHILE
  24. The sequel to Ghost of Tsushima has arrived! This trailer was one hell of a rollercoaster. I'm hyped as hell for this. Tsushima is one of my favourite open world games. Roll on 2025
