And so it continues... think of the children!

Same, but something has to be noted here more about Russia than us: their World Cup 2018 campaign has already proved controversial, and is still being looked to as far as I'm aware, and they were involved in trading blows with Polish fans at Euro 2012 too. Can they really still be credited with the Confederations Cup, let alone the actual World Cup? I can absolutely see it moving elsewhere in Europe which I'm praying for.

At this stage, so is everyone The way things have been leaked, the biggest unannounced games to be announced this year could come from Nintendo (in the way of Mother 3 or just having flat out lied to us about the NX which they are actually going to be showing or EA - the Internet will likely explode with the expected Battlefront II remaster!!! new game announcement and some more news concerning their Star Wars licensed properties. Seems like everyone went all out for prE3, there can't be that many surprises left, surely?

The game looks beautiful, I'm looking forward to playing through it! Interesting to note that key villains and sidekicks are missing, but I'm sure they'll be added in at a later date in a later episode! Shame they couldn't get Conroy onboard as Bats, though (but then again, that just reminds me we're getting an animated The Killing Joke animated feature so...)

Surprised no-one's yet mentioned Modric's first time, 25 yard volley. That was absolutely sublime, I was screaming at work!

Agreed. You can tell the board brought him in only to allow more younger players through, as opposed to actually trying to win anything. Kane looked tired for the last 30 minutes; that would have been a time where any averagely decent manager would have taken him off and put Vardy on. Typical England, am I right? I was preparing to tell my friends that if we won against Wales, we were through! Anyhow, to make up for it, we get to watch a German masterclass in how to demolish a team against Ukraine tomorrow night.

Yeah, they did start very shaky, though that wonder goal and their genera performance should give them a lot more confidence (something which Pogba didn't lack for a second). Luckily for them, the first big team they can come up against (no disrespect to Switzerland or their most likely Round of 16 opponents Sweden) would be Spain, in the quarter-final, and even then, they aren't the most attacking side. So, given that they should find themselves against lesser teams up until at least that point (if they top the group they avoid Spain and would likely face Wales or Iceland in the QF), they have plenty of time to gain some competitive confidence, which they worryingly lacked tonight. I absolutely adore this French team, and it is bleeding potential, but big players missing, such as Varane, Benzema and Hatem Ben Arfa, could cost them deeply.

I was beginning to get nervous for France. Never mind. Well, there we go! I'm a very happy man right now!

Yeah, reminded me immediately of Brazil's opening game 2 years back; some very questionable decisions in favour of the hosts there, too. I'm not too sure about a thrashing, I think the cap on this one looks to be 2 goals. Yes, Romania's qualifying group wasn't the toughest, but it's still remarkable that they conceded only 2 goals in 10 games. Also, there's reportedly an 87% chance that a team that draws their three games 0-0 will go through. Just an interesting little fact of the evening. Well, there we go. Brilliant shot from Pogba (other than being straight down the middle), Payet has finally started tinkering away and that was a great header by Giroud. Oh dear. That lead was awfully short lived. France have shown a lot of quality tonight. If they can keep going, they should win it. What the hell was Evra thinking?

Yeah, I think we all saw such an announcement coming, and obviously they weren't going to be phasing out the current PS4. PSVR is due in October, correct? I can see this dropping around then or November, considering the whole Black Friday stuff going on, and you know Microsoft will follow suit and release the same day/week. Other than the specs, though, I'm not really bothered.

Was waiting for this to drop, everyone else seemed to forget it was coming to E3! Game looks beautiful, the cars look beautiful. I love cars, so I hope I love this game.
-
Very shaky start for France, but they came into their own for the last 25 minutes or so. Pogba's showing a lot of confidence, but this Romanian defence has been fairly rigid.

Oh, and just so we all know what should have been the official Euro 2016 song...

Can't wait for this! My predictions:

Well, I know what I'm doing after my final exam for the summer!

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Wii U / Switch
Julius replied to darkjak's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Man, say what you like about Nintendo in its current state, they really know how to capture fans with a single image! It's beautiful! I'm still gutted that they're showing off what we can all, at this point, suppose is a fair portion of the game in the livestream next week, and I'll probably find myself dropping in from time to time, or perhaps just wait for a GameXplain video summarising the major features. But honestly, my biggest hope is for a 2-5 minute long trailer which does that for us. -
In the latter case, clearly. Heck, Zelda as an NX launch title would be a long term delay as it is; there would be riots in the event that it didn't launch by the start of the NX's lifetime, and we all know that. Every action Nintendo has taken, to this point, supports the game being an MX launch title, so what are your suspicions about Zelda being delayed regardless of the NX launching in March based on?
-
Trailers are great. Online multiplayer should be great. However, the one part they truly have to nail with this game is the campaign, I feel. It's a very fragile subject for many, despite us being almost 100 years on from the end of WW1. They have an abundance of source material to work with as a result, and need to be smart in showing that both sides fighting truly believed they were fighting for what was right, and it should have a plethora of truly heart wrenching moments. And yes, that does mean I want to see England vs Germany playing football on the muddy battlefield on Christmas Day.

As should every major game, but that wasn't my point. The circumstances, to the best of our knowledge, are different. A number of those games you listed were delayed for touch-ups, a server fix, or some other technical reasoning. The only reason currently implied as to why Zelda Wii U/NX is being delayed is simply for the release of the NX. That's a pretty big difference, despite a similar outcome, and 1-2 quarters is exceptionally long for touch-ups. No, they aren't going to sit on their hands, and I wouldn't dare suggest that would be the case; rather, they would have been working for a late Q3/Q4 2016 release and just been given an additional 3-6 months for touch-ups. So now our expectations should be through the roof for Zelda NX/Wii U.
-
In most of the above cases, it was made pretty clear that they were just touching things up (or, in the case of Arkham Knight, trying to fix the game for PC). The reasoning for LoZ being delayed, at this point, is: "hey, new system coming out soon, let's delay this game we've already delayed a number of times before 3-6 months for a cash flow boost!". Yes, it's a business at the end of the day, but this was much more about business than any of the other delays you've mentioned, which were mostly game design related. EDIT: just to make it totally clear, I'm not complaining; but, I could see why a Wii U owner might.

To add to this, is that Bryan Cranston doing the VO? If so, I think he's voicing Ra's al Ghul - "Each time I enter the pit, I emerge...reborn".

Don't get me wrong, the NX at E3 would have its benefits and drawbacks, but I don't think it would be dogged down in other news, considering that Nintendo are the last major player to present anything to us at E3 this year. I'm thinking it'll probably be September/October when we get the official unveiling, and considering that they didn't make the splash on Western soil in LA at E3, I get the feeling that it'll be on home turf in Japan. My bets are on the Tokyo Game Show at this point (in September); if I remember correctly, that's where we're first getting major PS4K/4.5 details too?
-
Obviously for us gamers, there's one thing universally on our minds: E3, and, rather, new game announcements and presentations, as well as all of the latest information on the coming year for gaming in general (minus, you know, the NX). Now, we've all seen a few games we're going to be hearing more about next week, which will leave us in one of three states: absolutely excited, not caring at all, or terrifyingly let down; the games just never seem to live up to the billing. So, I thought I'd ask a hypothetical question: what would your perfect video game be? Would it be a new IP, or branch off from an existing franchise? Would it be console exclusive? FPS, or adventure game, or both? MMO or single player campaign? What frame rate would it run at? What would be the purpose of the game? Would it be for present day consoles, or a hypothetical future one? What would your (subjectively) perfect video game be?

Aha agreed that attack, for once, is our best part of the pitch. Our 'keepers are okay, but I don't see any depth in defence or midfield - I feel that there's still a massive void left by the 'Golden Generation', which we probably won't fill until 2020.
