Oh, and just so we all know what should have been the official Euro 2016 song...

Can't wait for this! My predictions:

Well, I know what I'm doing after my final exam for the summer!

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Wii U / Switch
Julius replied to darkjak's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Man, say what you like about Nintendo in its current state, they really know how to capture fans with a single image! It's beautiful! I'm still gutted that they're showing off what we can all, at this point, suppose is a fair portion of the game in the livestream next week, and I'll probably find myself dropping in from time to time, or perhaps just wait for a GameXplain video summarising the major features. But honestly, my biggest hope is for a 2-5 minute long trailer which does that for us. -
In the latter case, clearly. Heck, Zelda as an NX launch title would be a long term delay as it is; there would be riots in the event that it didn't launch by the start of the NX's lifetime, and we all know that. Every action Nintendo has taken, to this point, supports the game being an MX launch title, so what are your suspicions about Zelda being delayed regardless of the NX launching in March based on?

Trailers are great. Online multiplayer should be great. However, the one part they truly have to nail with this game is the campaign, I feel. It's a very fragile subject for many, despite us being almost 100 years on from the end of WW1. They have an abundance of source material to work with as a result, and need to be smart in showing that both sides fighting truly believed they were fighting for what was right, and it should have a plethora of truly heart wrenching moments. And yes, that does mean I want to see England vs Germany playing football on the muddy battlefield on Christmas Day.

As should every major game, but that wasn't my point. The circumstances, to the best of our knowledge, are different. A number of those games you listed were delayed for touch-ups, a server fix, or some other technical reasoning. The only reason currently implied as to why Zelda Wii U/NX is being delayed is simply for the release of the NX. That's a pretty big difference, despite a similar outcome, and 1-2 quarters is exceptionally long for touch-ups. No, they aren't going to sit on their hands, and I wouldn't dare suggest that would be the case; rather, they would have been working for a late Q3/Q4 2016 release and just been given an additional 3-6 months for touch-ups. So now our expectations should be through the roof for Zelda NX/Wii U.
-
In most of the above cases, it was made pretty clear that they were just touching things up (or, in the case of Arkham Knight, trying to fix the game for PC). The reasoning for LoZ being delayed, at this point, is: "hey, new system coming out soon, let's delay this game we've already delayed a number of times before 3-6 months for a cash flow boost!". Yes, it's a business at the end of the day, but this was much more about business than any of the other delays you've mentioned, which were mostly game design related. EDIT: just to make it totally clear, I'm not complaining; but, I could see why a Wii U owner might.

To add to this, is that Bryan Cranston doing the VO? If so, I think he's voicing Ra's al Ghul - "Each time I enter the pit, I emerge...reborn".

Don't get me wrong, the NX at E3 would have its benefits and drawbacks, but I don't think it would be dogged down in other news, considering that Nintendo are the last major player to present anything to us at E3 this year. I'm thinking it'll probably be September/October when we get the official unveiling, and considering that they didn't make the splash on Western soil in LA at E3, I get the feeling that it'll be on home turf in Japan. My bets are on the Tokyo Game Show at this point (in September); if I remember correctly, that's where we're first getting major PS4K/4.5 details too?
-
Obviously for us gamers, there's one thing universally on our minds: E3, and, rather, new game announcements and presentations, as well as all of the latest information on the coming year for gaming in general (minus, you know, the NX). Now, we've all seen a few games we're going to be hearing more about next week, which will leave us in one of three states: absolutely excited, not caring at all, or terrifyingly let down; the games just never seem to live up to the billing. So, I thought I'd ask a hypothetical question: what would your perfect video game be? Would it be a new IP, or branch off from an existing franchise? Would it be console exclusive? FPS, or adventure game, or both? MMO or single player campaign? What frame rate would it run at? What would be the purpose of the game? Would it be for present day consoles, or a hypothetical future one? What would your (subjectively) perfect video game be?

Aha agreed that attack, for once, is our best part of the pitch. Our 'keepers are okay, but I don't see any depth in defence or midfield - I feel that there's still a massive void left by the 'Golden Generation', which we probably won't fill until 2020.

Been sitting on this for a while now, but after a bit of mulling over, I think it's actually a decent idea. No Man's Sky HAS to lead the VR charge. Has to. An immersive, open world FPS MMO (okay, you won't find anyone in all likeliness, but still) with beautiful graphical detail and a story that we can imprint onto the game? It's pretty much everything we've ever wanted on VR, in my opinion. Sorry if it's been mentioned before, but just thought I'd chime in!

As I said above^^^ There are hardly any expectations, I think everyone would be happy with making the quarter finals (which is okay considering the additional 8 teams in the tournament). I don't really have any surreal expectations, actually, I don't have any at all. I treat the Euro's as an educational process. I get to watch the best teams in the world (minus a handful from South American teams and the emerging USA), and it's generally a good pointer as to where football's heading in the next 2/3 years in Europe. Because, let's remember - even though Spain won 4-0 against Italy to lift the trophy last time around, it was Germany with the most intelligent and attacking playing style. Heck, I remember that they kept playing a false 9, with no real striker, and that most teams could work them into a draw through persistence. It was the beginning of the end of the Spanish national team's dominance through Tika-Taka, and everyone adopted aggressive, counter attacking football for the next few years.

says the one who's national team hasn't qualified for a major tournament in 18 years

HECK. YEAH! Not going to lie, just want to tear through EVERYONE as Batman. Forget Superman going AWOL.

NBA 2K16, a typically £54.99 game, is available for FREE as a PlayStation Plus download.

What's great is that the game is once again evolving due to the engine. Feels much less of a ripoff than FIFA 10 - 14 that way. Though it's still just a generic re-skin, but anyway... I'm glad it's Frostbite! Not sure how this could be applied to anything outside of their (boringly long) catalogue of officially licensed sports games, but alas!
-
Pretty much everything I look for in a book or movie (a plot with depth, a 'lived-in' world, memorable characters), but with the twist that I feel as though I am part of the story; yes, not as a previously assigned character with a history (apart from in special cases - see KOTOR).
-
Hey, look, an IGN video without a thirty sec---...oh, never mind. I'm looking forward to E3 thanks to pretty much all of the above, the announcements for games specifically so (and much less the consoles, given that we're just getting revisions to drag out the length of this generation).
-
I was talking about the club, not Wenger (though now you mention it...WENGER CONSPIRACY CONFIRMED)... But seriously, they must have known the player wouldn't have time to sort it out before the Euro's, so why not leave it until after? Then again, it can't make THAT much of a difference, can it? Pretty sure everyone would be happy with quarter finals for us as this stage...
-
Well, Arsenal's selfishness may have just screwed us over for the Euro's. Great job guys. -_- Why on EARTH would you try and distract YOUR OWN COUNTRY'S best striker before a major tournament?
-
Got the Uncharted: Nathan Drake Collection, as well as Just Cause 3. Waiting on the Arkham remasters as well as the (once again) delayed No Man's Sky, oh and LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Not to forget that I've yet to complete my VC Pokémon RBY games, Alpha Sapphire, Y, Super Mystery Dungeon or even touch any of the Zelda games. Boy is this going to be a busy one...
-
PLEASE BE REAL. Yes! Double yes! Arkham games being remastered, a Superman game and Arkham sequel possibly in the works, and THIS? Say what you want about DC's movies, they know how to keep people interested on the gaming front at least!
-
I'm really looking forward to E3 right now, it's only just settled in that it's so close! Pretty sure there's something every single day which could pique my interest! For me, I'm looking out for: Sunday (EA): hints at future Star Wars games, possibly even a teaser (?). Eyes are definitely on Battlefield One, considering that Battlefront II is due next year... Bethesda: never been into Skyrim, but if we see a next gen remaster, I'm game! Monday Sony: seeing as I'm a PlayStation guy, this obviously piques my interest. I don't care about the 4K/4.5 at all, though; what I'm looking out for is some more Gran Turismo news! Tuesday - Nintendo: the big N! Sucks that they've delayed showing the NX until September was it? But regardless, I'm very much looking forward to some Pokémon and Legend of Zelda news!
