  1. Oh wow okay, this is earlier than I had been expecting for this. Guess the trailer on Monday means we're lined up to get a decent amount of gameplay shown off later in the week during EA Play? Thanks for paging me @Ronnie, to be honest I'm very nervous about this one. The few rumours I've read about it from a few months back suggested that it's being headed by Motive, online multiplayer-focused, and with a single player campaign. At the launch of Battlefront II the Starfighter Assault mode was easily my favourite and though it takes some getting used to, I love how in control you can feel of those ships. I think the last update which included an update to that mode was actually the Crait DLC to tie into The Last Jedi at the end of 2017 (?), but don't think they've necessarily been working on this that whole time. Then again, if they started at that point that's a little over two and a half years of development time, so maybe? Based on the image alone my gut instinct would be a short campaign (like 5 hours long at a stretch?) which can be played through as either a Rebel and TIE Pilot. Same plot points, but from a different perspective? That'd be interesting. Probably through the major space/air battles of the original trilogy plus a little extra I'd imagine, based on the ships and art. Also, don't know why, but fully expecting it to be a budget title. I'm feeling like this is a £29.99 game.
  2. I know it's not necessarily in the title itself, but the logo kind of has it? Unless that's a pause symbol. In which case I can't wait for Horizon [rewind] More Forbidden East
  3. Maybe it's just because we follow the industry a bit closer here, but I didn't expect them to turn around a fully fledged Spider-Man game so quick, which is why I had assumed at best we get a teaser. As soon as we heard Peter and I saw Miles, I expected a Lost Legacy situation, but that's only because I thought about it quite a bit beforehand. I can see why some might have expected otherwise from this, maybe they could have done a better job of clarifying from the onset as you and @will' have mentioned. We all follow games quite closely so if some here are at a loss, then I imagine there might have been some confusion over that for a more casual audience too. Yeah, that'll be the big thing I think. I think Lost Legacy was £29.99 at launch? No more than £34.99 for this with a core story which is 8 hours or a little less (around half of the original's based on HLTB) I feel and I think this could be a great game in the opening month (if not at launch). And, this isn't a sleight against the original game, but there were a lot of cut and paste scenarios when swinging around and a ton of collectibles; add those in and this game could easily pad out to double that length to around 15 hours. Selfishly hope this isn't there day 1 (seeing as there are a couple of other prospective launch titles which could do great), mainly because I'd been planning a replay of the original's main story and DLC when I got a PS5 to test it out as I don't have a Pro
  4. Honestly, I think the language used makes Uncharted: The Lost Legacy the closest point of comparison for this, as plenty have mentioned. That was planned as DLC for Uncharted 4 if I recall but ended up being fleshed out into its own thing. Given that the title isn't Spider-Man 2: Miles Morales, I think the title alone did a pretty effective job of communicating that it isn't going to have the scale of a fully fledged sequel. I expect it to be a shorter, better-looking revisit of 2018's Manhattan which is going to bridge the gap between the first game and 2, which I'm sure we'll get in a couple of years.
  5. From the tweet or the article? Because Insomniac seem to be trying to be crystal clear in the comments responding to that tweet. Regardless of whether or not it might come bundled with a PS5 release of Spider-Man 2018 (which would be a weird launch title), I think they're trying to be very clear that the Miles Morales game will be available standalone. Yeah that's pretty much exactly how I took it too, like an inFamous First Light or Uncharted: The Lost Legacy situation.
  6. @Ronnie et al concerned with Spider-Man: Miles Morales being a remaster with some added comment based on that VGC "article"... Which is exactly what was expected beforehand. From the Telegraph article that everyone was sourcing, you get this: Looks like they took some creative liberties to reach that conclusion from Rutter's wording. Because you could also take the phrase "expansion and enhancement of the previous game" not as a bolted on, upgraded version, but instead as an expansion of the previous game in the same sense that Lost Legacy was for Uncharted 4, and enhancement in the same way that refining a game's engine for a new and more powerful console would be considered an enhancement. Even IGN were questioning it in their article. Good for them. Glad Insomniac have spoken up, but the problematic echo chamber of internet video games journalism becomes apparent I'm cases like this: quote taken in a very focused perspective, same article then jumps to conclusion (instead of clarifying, too? That's just bad journalism), and all of a sudden that's what's happening.
  7. Nah, it was a conscious choice I was actually on a Skype call with some friends from work for the start of the event and we play Rocket League every Friday, this seems like it might be worth trying out. Not sure if it's just the art style, but I feel like it could easily end up being announced as Free-to-Play?
  8. Woo, more Kyle after his bit during the pre-show last night!
  9. Reviews are live. Metacritic currently sitting at a 96 with 76 reviews.
  10. Oh wow, so these guys were actually the ones who made that Majora's Mask fan film a few years ago! Their background in animation certainly shows in the game too. Damn. Now I'm even more excited.
  11. To be honest I would probably play the recent Resident Evil 2 remake. You don't need to have played Resi 1 and it will be a much more modern and enjoyable experience. To be honest I've made a habit of loving returning to older games, not sure if I would necessarily give the PS1 versions a try first instead of the remakes in this instance but I don't think I'd mind. To give the series a fair go I'll commit to giving both REmake and RE2 Remake a try I think. Couldn't think of a better time than a summer weekend to dig in, so guess I'll try one out in the next month or two!
  12. Guess this answers the question of where I'll be jumping into From Software games! more than happy to give this a try and jump aboard the From train, and @killthenet those screenshots look fantastic. Bluepoint are absolute wizards. Shadow of the Colossus blew me away, but honestly I recently played some of their HD remasters on the PS3 (MGS2 and MGS3) and I was blown away by how well they those games were brought up to scratch too. [Insert wish here for them to reimagine the Metal Gear Solid games next]
  13. They're currently remaking Resident Evil 4. When that comes out, I implore you to check it out. One of the best games ever released in my opinion. Yeah, I read about that, might not be until 2022 though if I recall? Might try to jump in a bit earlier but thanks for the recommendation, I think 4 is the only one I've experienced to any degree (played for about half an hour when I was younger at a friend's house). Is Resident Evil (the 2002 remake) considered a good jumping in point? Might have to give it a go and follow it up with the remakes and the original 4, if they're to my liking. Will have to give it a go this summer.
  14. Haven't played a Resident Evil game before, and nothing I saw here really got me on board to do so, even as someone interested in jumping onboard with the series. It just didn't really grab me. Art style also seemed a little different to me when compared with the more recent uses of the RE Engine in games, couldn't quite tell what it was, looked a little rough once or twice which might be the reason.
  15. Hoursemarque's next game is quite the unexpected departure.
  16. Developed by BlueTwelve and published by Annapurna.
  17. PS5 event trailer: Timed exclusive seems to be what's being thrown around. Very surprised honestly that it's first-person. Still, it's set in Tokyo, and I love the look of what's going on. I'm intrigued.
  18. Trailer from the PS5 event: As @Map shared in the PS5 thread, looks like this might be a times exclusive, which would be interesting to say the least. Bigger fan of the art style in the transitions than of that found in the game itself, and obviously being Arkane seems very Dishonored-like. Haven't checked out any of those games yet, and though I'm curious about the "death loop" mechanic, can't say I've seen anything which would get me to commit to picking this up just yet.
  19. It absolutely does, I don't know what you're talking about ...does a mod mind helping me out with a thread merge here please? Not sure how I cloned it but I did, my bad As you mentioned here and as @Sheikah mentioned in the other thread I made, loving the art style. Simple but effective, and the sense of scale for some of the shots in the trailer were great. Also, some funny visual gags. Look forward to seeing more!
  20. The other indie game for me that stood out and I'm really interested in.

  22. Honestly looks pretty cosy and one of the games from the PS5 event I'm most interested to see more of. Coming to both PS4 and PS5.
