  1. My top 5 : Harrison Ford Sean Connery Clint Eastwood Tom Hanks Keifer Sutherland Of course they are better actors out there, and I am a fan of the likes of Hoffman, DeNiro, Day Lewis etc but I find these 5 very watchable in whatever they do and they've played many intresting characters.
  2. Noticed the other week that the Link statue was In Stock on Play.com. Did anyone order it from them? It's disappeared off their site now, so looks like it's gonna to be another hard piece to find
  3. Dogma Funny, thought provoking, and very entertaining. Deserve's a rewatch very soon and I shall be checking out Kevin Smith/Silent Bob's other films aswell. Rocky I have a habbit of going into Boxing films thinking "This will just be a series of matches with boring sport related dialogue inbetween" but I'm always proven wrong (see Million Dollar Baby, Raging Bull, Rocky Balboa) Another classic. Btw, I have no idea why it's taken me so long to watch the original after seeing Balboa almost two years ago! Will be watching 2 - 5 in the next few weeks. Also, rewatched The Dirty Dozen and Where Eagles Dares , which are great fun, in preparation for Inglorious Basterds on Wednesday.
  4. ^^ Yes, you can pause the game and select 'Invite friend', and if you're friend accepts he'll join the match in an instant. Or you can all gather up before a match in a party/lobby before starting or joining a game.
  5. LEGO: The Movie Source The animation will probably be CGI instead of stop-motion with the real blocks.
  6. It's inferior to The Conduit's, and I'm sure Zechs would back me up. Great level design, controls, graphics, the experience points you earn means you can use diffrent weapons and abilities once you reach certain levels, so there's a bit of strategy involved, it's more addictive and fun in random matches, there's leaderboards, plus I've only come across 2 or 3 cheaters. The only disappointing thing is that there's no Capture the Flag modes. The Wii version of Guitar Hero 5 is going to be full of features which were missing from World Tour, and they didn't have to, but they did include a small online mode in Quantum of Solace, so Activision's published Wii games do seem to get a decent amount of effort put into them, so Wii Speak may very well be in there.
  7. Yahoo! One of my E3 predictions came true. If I'm still a Wii only console owner at the end of the year, I will be buying.
  8. The first Roald Dahl book I read and one of my favourites so pretty excited for this. Looks like there's a lot of additional scenes included from that trailer. I only hope they don't spoil the story.
  9. Same thing happened to mine back in Easter. I've just retired it and use my GH3 guitars instead.
  10. The 'Disney is for girls' attitude plus I wasn't a fan of films with musical numbers when I was a young un'.
  11. Went to a carboot sale today. Not been to one in ages. Left work early and saw a sign pointing to one on the way home, so thought what the heck. Got all these Disney VHS' (and Yellow Submarine) for £9 there : Methinks I'm in for a treat as I've only seen Snow White and Alice from those pictured. They all play and seem genuine too, apart from the case of Beauty and Beast, which looks a bit blurry. Also got the Zelda Twilight Princess and Mario Galaxy Official Game Guides for £4 after a bit of haggling.
  12. Purchased the latest Official Nintendo Magazine as it had an awesome free gift - a window hanger for the car. I got the one I wanted, which was a blue shell with 'Eat My Shell!' written on it. Now people who overtake me will have something to worry about
  13. I've never had someone to call daddy.
  14. Bedtime Stories Nothing special. Somewhat watchable but there's no laughs to be had and if you've seen the trailer, you've basically seen all the moments that come true in real life from that. Better off putting a Disney Pixar or Classic DVD on instead. Death Sentence Kevin Bacon stars as a normal father who seeks revenge after his favourite son is murdered by a gang. Sounds like your usual revenge flick, but just like Taken, having a good older actor in the lead makes it so much better. Some high quality set-pieces with OTT gore also.
  15. Red Shell? Bah, Triple Red Shells ftw! Many happy returns!!
  16. Does anyone hear read GameCentral on Teletext daily? I do, was even doing so in the Digitiser days. I love it, it's been part of a daily routine in my mornings for years. Spot-on reviews in my opinion, intresting features and a great letters page. Sadly, early next year, Teletext on ITV and Channel 4 is shutting down for good, which means no more GameCentral, so there's an online petition doing the rounds, with the hope being that Gamecentral can continue in some form or other, maybe on Ceefax or as a Website. Anyone else a fan, or is Teletext a waste of time now seeing as we have the web? If you'd like to sign the petition here's the link :- http://www.petitiononline.com/SaveGC/
  17. The Golden Compass Tripe. Complete and utter tripe. No more please.
  18. I've lived my entire life in a little village, where there's just a small shop. We did have a pub, but it closed down when I was around 14. As a child or young teen, there was nothing much to do here out of the house, apart from play in the school field, secretly build dens in the fields of farmers or cycle round the countryside or to neighbouring villages to swap Pokemon cards, which was fine and dandy to us back then. Once you've grown up some more, and want to do more 'adult' things, it's very frustarting when you don't drive, as you have to rely on a lift to a small town to get on a bus, and once you do drive, the decent things are far away ; you got to travel 20 miles for a night out, and 40 miles if you want a cinema trip, so yeah, living in the country sucks, mainly because it costs a lot in petrol for decent entertainment. It's nice to walk around the area when you want to relax, clear you head and be with nature though, something you can't do in the city I suppose. I've spent some time in Liverpool and London and it obviously appeals more to someone like me - plenty of entertainment and activities to participate in, plenty of shops (it suprises me to see around 4 Newsagents on the same street in parts of London!), more intresting things to look at and people to observe, rather than the same old tree in a field, and the same people going past to the shop on a daily loop, all within walking distance. But I suppose if you're located somewhere where you have some good friends it shouldnt really bother you if you're in a City or no-man's land.
  19. Damn! Was really hyped for this after playing swordplay in Resort Only Rock Band -The Beatles and New Super Mario Brothers for me to look forward to on my Wii this year. Even more tempted to buy a 360 to go with my Wii now.
  20. Borat This suprised me, as it wasn't full of trash comedy as I expected. Some hillarious scenarios, my favourite being the dining society. Man: I'm, er... recently retired... Borat: You are a retard? Also, my favourite Michael Bay film, The Rock is on BBC1 tonight. Highly recommended if you haven't seen it.
  21. £9.99 Argos £5.99 HMV
  22. Now that a greater majority of us have played a game that use's the Motionplus add-on, and experienced Wii Sports Resort which offers more in-sight into what the device can actually do than what was shown in EA's games (not that it wasn't good there!), how would you like to see the device used and in what kind of games? I defintley think we should see Project H.A.M.M.E.R revived, seeing as we can smash things in true 1:1 now
  23. Tropic Thunder It started off well, but after 10-15 minutes or so it went downhill. Three or four decent lines, but you'll only find this hillarious if you're aged twelve. Predator Knock knock! Very good, tense and entertaining. Thought the Predator looked a little bit too comical, once his face was unveiled at the end, but hey that's the 80's! Also gave In Bruges a re-watch which I think is one of the best dark comedies in ages.
  24. Instore only I think - just saw it advertised in The Sun. If the deal is available online, it probably won't show up on the site untill tomorrow.
  25. Arrived this morning from Gameplay. Couldn't go with the cheaper Argos deal, because they don't delivery to Angelsey apparently. Anywhoo, this is fantastic. Show's off the true potential of Motionplus miles better than Grand Slam Tennis. So far, the best I've played are the sword games, which are outstanding, and show that Red Steel 2 will (hopefully) control just fine, and that a Star Wars themed lightsaber game has to happen! Table tennis is great too, mainly cause you get more rallies that in GST and get to feel like Forrest Gump and Frisbee and Archery will be played a lot once I've mastered them I'm sure. T'was very relaxing flying the airplane too, but disappointed that you can't play a dog-fight in single player. Now to player the other games! Oh yeah, at the start, before jumping out of the airplane I thought to myself, "Why is John Lennon in this airplane?" before realizing that the game had chosen a random Mii to represent me there. Commiserations if you have to begin this beauty with a F-Ugly Mii. If you buy the game from Tesco tomorrow, you can buy an extra Motionplus with it for £8.97.
