  1. To add to that, be sure to get the "Beyond the Sword" Expansion, as it improves the game quite a bit. Don't bother with warlords though unless you want the scenarios.
  2. Do you attack city states?
  3. When Tales of Symphonia was released they were starting to get desperate with the Game Cube in terms of sales. I would imagine, seeing as ToS was arguably one of the best 3rd Party games on the Game Cube, getting it localized for North America/Europe was somewhat of a priority at the time.
  4. I'm finally getting into the game now. At first I tried playing it on the longest time setting, which was incredibly boring (compared to the same time setting in Civ IV). Playing it on the second longest seems much better.
  5. Any word on release date yet? Its been a long time since a tales of game came out on a console I owned.
  6. I doubt the majority of them were paid off or whatever. Perhaps they were provoked somewhat, but the majority were probably legitimately pro-Mubarak beforehand, and just needed an extra push to move forward. I think at this point, the logical thing to do would be to have a UN controlled election (So the anti-Mubarak side can't claim he cheated if he does win).
  7. Backing up: -Get an external hard drive (I'd recommend at least 500 GB, but it really depends on how large your internal HDD is, It should be significantly bigger at any rate). -Use disk utility to make 2 partitions on it ( its in /Applications/Utilities). -Use disk utility to clone your boot drive onto one of the partitions (Now you'll be able to boot off of your external drive into tiger (with your old files) if you want to). -Put all the important files that you want to put back onto the drive on the other partition so you can get at them quickly. Re formating: -Boot from the Snow Leopard install disk (Hold "c" on startup, put the disk in before you shut the computer down) -There should be some sort of utilities menu, select this menu and open Disk Utility. -Select your internal drive and go to the erase tab. -Set the format as "Mac OS X Extended Journaled" -Click the button to start it. -Once its done exit out of disk utility and install snow leopard.
  8. I'm surprised this hasn't been discussed at all here yet. So basically: -The people of Tunisia started rioting and overthrew their corrupt government -The people of Egypt got the same idea and are in the process of trying to overthrow their corrupt government -The Internet and all cell phone networks have been shut down in Egypt -Similar events are apparently starting up in Yemen, but are in the early stages Now, I'm sure most people here would outright support the whole thing if it were that simple but: -An organization called the "Muslim Brotherhood" who (and I don't know much about them, so correct me if I'm wrong) basically want to turn the world into a massive Muslim theocracy, through any means necessary, including terrorism, are organizing many of the protests. -Egypt is one of the few Arab countries that actually has a proper peace agreement with Israel, which was backed strongly by the dictator they're attempting to overthrow. A change in government could mean another war between the Arab countries and Israel. -The dictator Egypt is trying to overthrow is backed strongly by the US, who while supporting fully the people of Tunisia, are attempting to cool down the riots in Egypt to try and keep the dictator in power. Again, if I've gotten something wrong here, let me know.
  9. I honestly doubt he's going to get life. The american media likes to blow this sort of stuff out of proportion. There have been cases where children have committed crimes before that carried ridiculously long sentences and they've got off on lesser charges, etc. In this case, I bet he'll be found "not criminally responsible" and spend quite a few years in a mental facility.
  10. Lots of kids go hunting/target shooting with their parents in the states. The truth is, very few of them go around killing people. For every case like this, there are hundreds of thousands of people who use guns purely for recreational purposes or self defense. Not to mention the fact that the people who do go around using guns to kill people would either obtain guns illegally, or would use other weapons to do whatever it is they want to do. Perhaps requiring people to take a course in gun laws and safety and passing a test before they can buy them (the way it works here in Canada) would solve some problems, but I don't think banning them outright is the answer. In this case, the kid probably would have used something else to kill his step mum if the gun hadn't been available to him. Now, onto the main issue. The kid's clearly not mentally stable, he's also 11 (or was when he was charged). Does this excuse him from his actions? of course not. However, you have to take them into consideration. Obviously he shouldn't just be found innocent and let go, but I don't think sending him to a federal prison (And everything that happens inside one) for the rest of his life is the answer either. An 11 year old might know the difference between right and wrong, but its also much easier for a kid to be driven over the edge than an adult. I don't know the whole story here, but there was obviously a major problem between the kid and his step mother. When you're 11 you're not mentally mature yet, you can't deal with the sort of situations that this kid was probably in at the time. Just like with depression people are driven to suicide because they feel its the only way out of their problems, the kid probably saw killing his step mother as the only solution to his problems. If this was the situation, I don't think sending him to a federal prison for the rest of his life is appropriate. A mental institution just sounds like a better option to me.
  11. I agree with most of the stuff discussed. We need a lot of those changes in Canada just as desperately as you do in the UK. Why not have some sort of national service for highs school drop-outs (if that's an issue in the UK)? Or perhaps people who have been on unemployment benefits for over a certain period of time must do national service to continue receiving them. I can see the idea of national service being incredibly annoying for people who know what they want to do in life, and have a way of achieving it. In a way, it would be taking away their freedom.
  12. What server are you on?
  13. From what I understand, the newer 6970 stock can't be flashed 100% of the time.
  14. Now if only more valve games got the steam play treatment with the PS3.
  15. If you don't mind turn based games I'd recommend the Civilization series. I haven't played enough of 5 yet to recommend it, but 4 was amazing. Probably the most addictive game you'll ever play. I also recommend Aquaria (A lot like Super Metroid), and World of Goo (If you haven't already played it on the Wii).
  16. Even though I already have it on the PS3, I'll probably re-buy Vietnam through steam, as I'm a little bit uneasy about using PSN these days, at any rate, Battlefield games tend to play a little bit better on the PC anyway.
  17. I found this in a folder of wallpapers I made a few years ago and decided to use it when I set up my new computer.
  18. Same here (although I've never had a 360). It might have been somewhat more expensive than a console, but the fact that you can buy tons of games 6 months after they come out for less than $10 during steam sales makes up for that.
  19. Its not being deployed very quickly here in Canada. The fastest you can get in the city I live in is still ~6 mb.
  20. On a desktop, I wouldn't bother with the wireless keyboard, changing batteries can be a pain. Wireless mice also tend to lag a little bit. In terms of building it yourself, its not as hard as it sounds. I just built my first PC a couple weeks ago. You just need to read up on how to install the various parts, how to deal with static, etc. Even the cables aren't that difficult, most of them only fit into one socket, and in general, you just need to read the manuals to figure out where to plug stuff in otherwise. The hardest part really was installing the CPU and cooler.
  21. At one point there was some sort of deal where if you subscribed for a certain amount of time, you got a few months free. Perhaps since you're not actually paying, it still shows your subscription as having expired.
  22. I started digging into the cobblestone looking for the lava, but found moss stone instead, so I suppose what I found must be a dungeon.
  23. Does anyone know if its possible for cobblestone to exist that hasn't been placed by the player? I was just messing around and noticed that under water there was a near perfect square pit (aside from a bit of sand in it) lined with cobblestone just a little ways from my main base, but it was an area I hadn't been to yet, so I know I didn't place it myself.
  24. I just got the game about a week ago, and I've been playing single player on and off since then. I'm curious though as to what exactly causes those creepy sounding ambient noises (not the mob sounds). A combination of those, and the creepypasta about Herobrine are starting to make minecraft feel almost like a horror game at night.
  25. Yes. Theoretically you can run any unlicensed software on the PS3 now, and that includes software used to cheat in games. I don't think such software exists yet for the PS3, but it probably will come eventually.
