The average winter day here could be anywhere from -20C to -40C. We get lots of snow as well, which contributes to major flooding in the spring (which is actually happening right now just outside of the city). I'm actually 1/8th Icelandic. I'm also apparently a decendent of this guy (as well as some people who fled to Iceland because of him): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harald_Bluetooth

Minority Report is here, and not in a cool way

I know it wouldn't. What I'm saying is that in a democracy the people should have just as much right to protest (regardless of how they do it, as long as they're peaceful) as the royals do to have a wedding. One shouldn't be a higher priority than the other. -

So they should postpone the wedding or change the route or something if they're concerned for their safety. You don't start arresting people who disagree with you. -
I'm from and have lived in Winnipeg, Canada my entire life. We have the exact same climate as Siberia. I can't think of much else to say about it, its not the most interesting city in the country.

I've made two trips into massive cave systems to get my minerals. I've found very few diamonds, but a lot of gold (39 in one trip). Sadly, on the second trip I managed to fall into the middle of a lava pit. I've also found a lot of red stone though, so if anyone needs any, let me know and I'll leave it in a chest in the town.

This is quite disturbing. Arresting law abiding protesters is never a good sign. In a democracy, everyone should be allowed to voice their opinion whenever they want. That's how democracy works. As long as you're not harming others, speech should be allowed. In the west in general we seem to be loosing more and more freedoms everyday. In the US the constitution has effectively been suspended for nearly a decade by the patriot act, this sort of thing happening in the UK, and here in Canada, the Conservatives have said if they're elected again they're going to pass a bill within 100 days that makes it legal for the government to spy on us at the ISP level without any sort of warrant. I'm worried about what this all will turn into eventually. I'll proudly be voting Liberal on Monday. Its sad that conspiracy theorists will go on and on about reptilians and inside jobs while real government based threats to our freedom are looking at us right in the eye. -
I'd be interested. Any ideas what mods you'll be running and what the general focus of the server will be?

I think what he was talking about was mostly buying the best mods to include in the Actual game. Mods that added new blocks really wouldn't work with the multiplayer aspect of the game if not everyone had them. Anyway, the updates they're releasing seem fine to me. Beta generally means that most of the features are already in place and the product is (relatively) near release. So it makes sense that there are fewer updates now. Maps is also something I've been waiting for for a while now. I like to explore a bit in my worlds, and having to use an external program or a mod that breaks after every update to see the world as a whole isn't really practical.

I just finished the game. Loved the ending, although, its going to be interesting to see what they do with Portal 3.

With the Antec case keep in mind that the fans might have switches on the end rather than connectors to plug them into the motherboard, so you may need to either replace the fans, or control them manually.

The weather appears to be an uncommon occurrence. I played for a few hours this afternoon and I didn't see any.

I got a G9x for 30% off the other day. I've got to say, I'm never going back to cheap mice.

No, its just a file manager, try alt+tabing in and out of the game, quitting all other applications (not processes this time, actual applications), and if neither of those work, removing the config files from your documents folder (back up your saves first).
-
I had the exact same problem. Once you launch the game, press Control+Shift+Escape to launch task manager, then go to the processes tab and quite windows explorer. It should work fine after that.

So apparently 1.5 has been delayed due to the addition of powered rails (its about time), as well as pigs turning into zombie pig men when they get hit by lightening. Pistons are also apparently coming in 1.6.

So why is it seen as acceptable on the Wii but not on the PS3 for most people?
-
I was talking about the hardware, but you have a point. And that said, agreements like that are quite commonly found to be non legally binding by courts. At the same time, this is purely legal stuff we're talking about. I'm more interested in why people find it immoral to run any software you want on hardware you own. Its interesting to see how differently people are reacting to homebrew being available on the Wii, and it being available on the PS3.
-
Why should it matter what it was intended for. You don't sign any legal agreement when you buy a PS3 stating that you're only going to use it to run licensed software.

Selling knives is illegal in the UK? I didn't realize you're government was THAT restrictive. Your example would only work if you were giving the key to someone who happened to own the museum, seeing as its not Sony's hardware anymore.
-
Source? From what I understand he released the root key, which is basically a password that the PS3 requires software to have before it will run. This technically allows both piracy and homebrew. Except he doesn't have the opportunity to profile anyone he's given the code to. He can't profile each and every person who downloaded the key. It would be more like selling a knife to a stranger on eBay and them going to kill someone with it.
-
Giving someone the tools to do something doesn't make you responsible for their misuse. Yes people can use this to pirate PS3 games, and I'm as against that as everyone else, but Sony should be going after the pirates, not Hotz. The code he released is just the code that allows software to be run on the system. I really don't see a moral problem in allowing people to install software on hardware they paid for.
-
So you're saying that only he should be allowed to use the hardware for what he wants?
-
I paid $299 for my PS3, I own it, there's no reason I shouldn't be able to do whatever I want with it (short of using it to bash in someone's head).

I'm interested, explain why you think everyone should think its immoral?
