Isn't denial the first stage of grief?

It appears the Conservative Party of Canada have won a majority government. Goodbye online privacy.

These days most of the stuff starts on the other chans, but gets popular and continued on 4chan. For instance, country balls was originally from krautchan's /int/, but soon became a favorite on 4chan's /int/.

I voted for the first time today. Its going to be an interesting election this time around as well.
-
But why go to all the trouble of lying in the first place in that case? Who had enough to gain from this that they would go to all the trouble of organizing it, and risk getting caught out in the end?

I still don't understand how they would have found his body after all these years. He would have been buried within 24 hours of his death. No military would waste time and resources digging around in the mountains for his body to try and confirm his death. Are you suggesting they just happened to be digging a hole in just the right spot and found the body? If you have such an easy time believing something like that, why is it so hard for you to believe that the CIA got a lead as to his whereabouts and an operation was called when the had enough evidence to suggest the information was correct. After all, that's what the CIA actually spends much of its time doing.

Just saw this on another forum: http://news.bbc.co.uk/onthisday/hi/dates/stories/may/1/newsid_3571000/3571497.stm

I think what was suggested was that he died and we didn't know about it. However, Bush was on his way out already 3 years ago. He didn't have to face any more elections.
-
If they were going to fake it, you would think they would reveal it at a more politically opportune time. The next election is still over a year away, at this point, nobody benefits from him having been killed more than they would at any other time. If he did die years ago, the body would have decomposed and would have been hidden like someone else said. It would have been pretty much impossible for them to determine that he had been killed, so if he had been killed years ago, this death would have been faked, which wouldn't really make that much sense. Furthermore, if they were faking it, they wouldn't have said video footage existed, because they know people are going to spend a lot of time protesting that the footage be released, and they know if it is released people are going to spend a lot of time analyzing it. I ask this to anyone who doubts the official story, who exactly was it that gained from this operation having been faked, and does it seem reasonable that that gain would have surpassed the amount of trouble the US government would have had to have gone to to fake something like this?

Did you finish it? It seemed to pick up a bit after the first part of season 2.

I've been watching Castle(Best selling author follows a detective in New York City) and The Mentalist for the last few seasons. I'm also working my way through Monk(About a man who is the best detective in the world, but also has more mental problems than anyone in the world, which have only gotten worse since his wife was killed) on Netflix. I'm not sure if it counts as its from the other perspective, and also a serial drama, but I recently finished watching all the seasons of Prison Break(Engineer robs a bank so he can break his brother out of death row, who's there because of a crime he didn't commit) on Netflix, which was probably one of the best shows I've seen in a while.

I've repaired the workshop and put a bunch of wood into the "Free Stuff" box (the box itself was stolen as well) for anyone who needs it.

Name: Emasher I noticed someone named Mattpyle on a few minutes ago who I've never seen on the server before, but that's it, and seeing as the griefer probably wouldn't have stayed long, I'm assuming he was a legit user. If you have access to it, you might want to check the server logs to see which accounts have logged on recently. Anyway, my decoy house was slightly damaged, but they didn't find my secret base, so its all good. I need to re-build the dock though. Also, just out of curiosity, who found the clock I buried in the town? I think I'm going to hide a few more items like that.

Could it have something to do with Bravia Connect perhaps? I'd check the settings on your PS3, surround sound box, and TV regarding that. I know my Samsung TV always had problems with surround sound due to Samsung's Anynet software which tried to control things that I wanted to control manually, so I ended up turning it off in the end.

There's a mod that allows players to buy and sell items via the console that would actually work well for getting a few of the items that can't be acquired on the server, bones, string, gunpowder, and the nether items to be more specific.

Minority Report is here, and not in a cool way

Do you really not see the difference between stopping someone from blowing up a plane and stopping someone from putting on a somewhat comical presentation that some may find distasteful? -

Again, insulting someone isn't a crime. The ones responsible for any fight that broke out would be the ones who started the actual fight. Unlike some events these people appear to have legitimate concerns and didn't appear to want to start a fight, just protest in their way. The points were in response to another comment, I wasn't trying to prove anything about this with them. -

Well, like you said, the protestors likely knew what they were getting into, and anyone who might attack them would as well. Alone this would just be an isolated incident. Its all the other stuff that's going on in addition to this that's worrying. Just looking at the Anglosphere we have: Police Brutality, a key example being people who weren't even protesting getting arrested at the G8/20 summits in both the UK and Canada (and in the case of Canada, being denied their legal rights after being arrested). Internet Censorship laws in Australia. The Patriot Act in the United States as well as Guantanamo Bay. Government agencies making major policies without consulting the legislative branches, a key example being the CRTC (Canada) forcing ISPs to use a usage based billing system so that the big companies could implement it without having to worry about competition. Proposed legislation in Canada to allow police to monitor people's internet connections without a warrant. People being kicked out of public political events in the US and Canada because they asked the wrong questions or had their pictures taken with the wrong people. People being charged with assault for defending themselves as well as people breaking into houses, slipping and hurting themselves, and then suing the home owner and winning. The whole Wikileaks thing. The Canadian government proroguing parliament to avoid a non confidence motion and stay in power. People coming back from vacation to find squatters have broken into their homes and changed the locks and the police refusing to do anything about it in the UK. Children getting suspended from school for defending themselves from bullies and other things that aren't considered a crime. Police abusing their power and violating people's rights. The Canadian government allowing large companies to pollute the environment to the extent that it causes health problems for the local aboriginal population. I could go on. -

Mind elaborating? I don't see how killing off every Governor General and Prime Minister in the commonwealth as well as the British Nobility would solve much at all. -

The police should arrest the people that commit the first violent act in that case. You don't have a right not to be offended, however you do have a right to safety of person. So because some people have less rights than we do we shouldn't hold on to the ones we do have? I don't quite understand what you're trying to say. -

There's still no law against beheading a dummy. Arresting someone because you think someone else is going to do something illegal because of what they did is just a little bit overboard. There's a difference between arresting someone who's acquired a number of weapons and have wrote about shooting up their school and arresting someone because they might make a scene. -
The first paragraph explains it quite well: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Climate_of_Manitoba

In that case though they would be breaking the law (burning without a permit), and would be creating an actual danger (the fire itself), so there's actually a legitimate reason to arrest them. I fail to see how beheading a dummy is remotely more provoking people than protesting. If anything, it seems comedic. -

People can react to anything. All I was saying was that people shouldn't be arrested unless they're causing actual harm to someone else or their property. -

But they weren't violent (towards people). If people choose to react to it, that's their decision, and its their fault if they break any laws because of their reaction. I'm not saying what they were going to do was appropriate, just that they should be allowed to do it.
