Nintendo Selects Sonic to Enable DVD Functionality
myster0n replied to Dante's topic in Nintendo Gaming
As it's software based, maybe you can just buy it with Wii-points at the Wii shop channel. -
wiihatenintendo.com was registered by Jeremy Parish : So I presume it's this guy.

It would be cool if every n-europe member from Belgium could meet up there. I'm not sure if I can come though. My schedule is pretty full (it's not easy being rich and famous )
-
But MSX did come out in Europe ! I clearly remember seeing them in (big) stores.

Zelda: Twilight Princess Discussion (SPOILERS: BEWARE)
myster0n replied to EchoDesiato's topic in Nintendo Gaming
8th of December is a friday. So you only have to make sure you get enough sleep sunday night -
Is that from "Learning japanese : lesson 1" ? In Lesson 2 : "Father is playing Zelda. He is very happy."

You know, at work I use a USB->Ethernet adapter (I use 2 networks at the same time, and my crummy PC can't handle another PCI card) I use the Dlink DUB-E100 : And that brick costs, when you order it directly from Dlink, $39.99 So 30 euros for the better looking Nintendo version is far from "sickening". It's not cheap, but it doesn't look like Nintendo is trying to rip you off. PS : the Dlink adaptor sometimes stops working when you unplug another usb device and the only thing to get it to work again is to reboot your PC.

Virtual Console - All you need to know
myster0n replied to Tellyn's topic in General Gaming Discussion
Well, that means I'll have 4 x 'Wii Points Prepaid Card 5.000 + Classic Controller'. 4 classic controllers and 20000 points to spend. Sounds good to me. -

Zelda: Twilight Princess Discussion (SPOILERS: BEWARE)

Solitanze, as you put so much faith into review scores, I bet Driv3r must have a special place in your heart. -
My wallet is lazy and doesn't like to carry much, so I'm doing it a favour.
-
That was just me pulling a prank though.

Zelda: Twilight Princess Discussion (SPOILERS: BEWARE)

Pong 2 got cancelled? Why didn't anyone tell me? I've been waiting for so long ! -
Well, as far as I know, the sensor bar isn't a sensor bar at all. It's just a bar with a few IR-leds in it. The camera on the wiimote sees those leds and uses it to calculate what part of the screen its pointing at. So the technique is very different from a normal remote, where there's a simple sensor on your TV that responds to simple pulses. But with normal leds, if the sun or another bright lightsource is shining on them, it's often hard to see if they're on or off. I presume it's the same with IR-leds and IR-lightsources. So there's not much they can do to remedy this short of totally changing the way the wiimote works. But that's no problem for me, as I don't very often see that blue room with the fireball anyway.

First of all : thank you for calling me God. I'm not quite that powerful yet, but I'm working on it. I haven't followed the series at all, but I presume that that game is a (to be blunt) "do tricks at the skatepark for massive dam.. I mean : points" genre. Correct me if I'm wrong. That's just not the sort of game that I like. It doesn't give me personally a sense of achievement. Maybe I'm too old for that. So thanks for the tip, but no thanks.

The game is starting to look fun to me. I won't buy it without testing, but it looks like a candidate for a place in my shelf. Which would make it the first Tony Hawk game to be on my shelf.
-
PLEASE try to become one :awesome: I'm also getting sick of the "I just know its score will be 7.2, and because of that score I won't buy it" and the "I only buy exclusive games. If it doesn't say 'only for Wii' I won't buy it". Gaming is about having fun, not about being an elitist prick. Who cares what anyone else thinks about a game, as long as you are having fun? Who cares if a game is exclusive, as long as you're having fun? About wanting a golf game going online : golf is a turn-based sport, where turns can take several minutes. Are you just going to stare at your screen the whole time, grateful it has online multiplayer?

The DS uses the "b" standard. 100% sure.

Fatty fatty fat fat !

Meh ... close enough

Thanks. It's good to know all my work wasn't in vain ... All I wanted to do is to prove, in this time of megabytes and gigabytes, that 6KB is still more than enough to store a bunch of Miis and still have room for other stuff. But I've edited my post a bit so it doesn't make your brain tired anymore. At least not as much.
-
The stores I go to have their demo pods on, but with no controller connected. I expect they'll do the same with the Wii : no controllers. Which would be very stupid.
-
An ID in a DB may not be the best solution. Where is that DB? In the Wii itself? Then you can't take your Mii to another Wii. At Nintendo? What happens if you don't have an internet connection? (the Miis you designed on that Wii will be stored locally, but what about the Mii from your friends) But when memory is efficiently used, the data for a Mii still takes very small amounts of memory. I've done a little calculating based on the Samuel L. Jackson Mii demo.

Well, I'd guess that the sound they send to the remote will be 8bit @ 11KHz. That should give it about half a second as a buffer if it's 6KB.
