I tried this with the GameCube-controller yesterday - a friend of mine got hold of the adapter while on vacation in Germany! - and it made such a difference. I mean, I'm not bad with the Pro Controller but this.. this was just so natural and different and well-known. I need the adapter in my life.

I agree with Daft, keep the intensity high on the cardio and hit the weights to add some muscle. That'll keep your metabolism up for several hours after working out plus more muscle mass implies higher calorie burn rate implies fast shedding of fat. By high intensity I mean 15 minutes three times a week, using as many groups of muscles at a time as possible. Burpees, squats, jumping squats, kettlebell swings, thrusters, "englehop" (I can't seem to find what these are called in English - bend the knees to touch the ground then jump to the air, kinda like a deep lunge), etc. You can also do some interval training on hills, run up the hill and then walk down, 10 times. The hill should be about 200 meters long. And rowing is also great for this! Actually way better than running! Try to row 1000 meters as fast as you can (should be about 4 minutes or slightly less) - it'll kill you! Of course this should be scaled to match your current level so you don't strain yourself and get injured!

Has any of you tried this? I'm playing it at the moment for a review and I'm really in two minds. It's not doing anything in particular wrong but it's just not that fun to play. However, I still want to play it, possibly because it's the only "new" game in this genre out there at the moment. I find the combat alright but not perfect - a lock-on system would certainly help it. And the dialogue is atrocious, I really don't like Kay at all! But I still want to play on and see what comes next, although I'm always hoping that I don't have to race on that boar again.

I got it the other day but I have problems with Chrome and certain sites now. It's kind of irritating as I use some of those sites a lot.

And done! Really liked it throughout the season, it had some really nice touches. However, am I the only one disliking the red suit? The black one was way cooler!

I actually also attended a yoga class yesterday. My gym doesn't charge extra for it so I'll be going more regularly as part of my weekly routine for the core. It was really good but I dislike all that meditation and relaxation crap. "Feel the unmeasurable compassion, let your heart out," etc. But the actual movements were nice. I think it is called vinyasa but we also have something called flow yoga at my gym, where it is more about the movements and less about sitting still. I also want to do pilates but all the classes are in the morning and about noon so can't go due to work.

Yeah, quite the letdown. The announcement trailer looked really good but that gameplay was just boring to look at. Hopefully that is only a small part of the game. And yeah, why isn't the player the dragon, controlling humans to do his bidding??

I finally convinced my girl friend to give this a chance, along with some friends or ours that also recommended it, and we've watched to episode 11 now. It's really good, I'm enjoying it so much. The fighting is awesome, the characters are interesting and deep, and the story is good. I'm already looking forward to Season 2!

Make it a smoothie with a diet, flavoured yoghurt, for instance vanilla flavour. In Denmark we have something called "skyr" (pronounced skier) that has a lot of protein compared to ordinary yoghurt. You could see if you can find something like that as well - just make sure it doesn't have so much sugar / carbs in it. Would that help?

Low bar is only for people who aren't flexible enough to go below parallel with high bar. :P One should really aim at doing high bar, even though there is no real difference. I just find the posture of the upper body - especially in the bottom of the squat - far more comfortable. It also puts a bit more strain on the core muscles as you have to push your upper body a bit more back, basically making it more or less like a front squat.

I haven't got the update prompt yet and the above methods haven't worked so I'll just wait for it to come to my computer. I like what I'm hearing and seeing from this, though, so I won't hesitate to update from 8.1, which I really dislike - searching for a program takes forever because of all those live tiles and such so I'm looking forward to getting semi-rid of them.

So no comments on the Dr. Mario-stage? Is it a leak or a fake?
-
Dips. Lots of dips. Otherwise shoulder press, push-ups, plank press-ups (lie in a plank position and stretch your arms withour moving your hands so that you push up your body).

Are the stages for free or paid DLC?

July has been too relaxing for me, I can feel it in my body. Two weeks in the US / Canada didn't help and afterwards, having quit my crossfit membership and gone back to "regular" gyms, I have had trouble going more than three times last week. For cardio I like to attend classes, but the classes in the regular gym are quite samey and they mostly go on non-stop for 55 minutes which is a bit over the top for me. I'm used to going all out for 12-20 minutes and then no more. I find this shift in mentality really hard and tend to kill myself halfway through because I went for the heavier weights. I also haven't been squatting lately because it makes my groin hurt. I have noticed that I might suffer a bit from diastasis rectus: "separated abs" - this is the thing that happens to women when they get pregnant. It can happen to men as well if they do heavy lifting. I believe this is caused by my rather mobile back (almost hypermobile I think people would descripe it). This abdominal separation can lead to an unstable pelvis which according to my physician was the reason for my groin injury. It all adds up! So I'll be doing some training to fix this over the next period. Hopefully that will make me able to squat again.

That you have to check in within a week to get the prize. I could perhaps understand it if the prize went to the next in line afterwards but that isn't the case.

Alright. That doesn't make sense but thanks for the answer!

I participated in the Manectric-challenge when it was online. I got a nice enough score without items, like 10,000-something but I went on vacation for two weeks so I don't know how I fared in the contest - I hoped I would have a score high enough for the mega stone but that was me being optimistic. I presumed, though, that I would get a jewel for the trouble but I haven't got that either and when I checked in yesterday, the game didn't mention the challenge at all. When I look at notinced, the last one was June 22nd.

Small question: Can an amiibo bought in the US be used on European hardware?
-
Damn, I won this game in a competition yesterday and hoped they would mail it instantly. But either they didn't or they did, and the post was just too slow for it to arrive today. Either way, I don't have it for the weekend which is too bad as it would really be a good game for this weekend! I will probably get it Monday but I'm going to the US / Canada on Tuesday for two weeks so won't be playing it until mid-July. It looks so nice to play! Ah well, good thing that I have Hyrule Warriors to keep me busy.

I think I remember reading that aspartame caused cancer in rats when they gave them what amounted to the level of aspartame in 10 litres of Coke Zero a day for a year or such. So just drink responsibly and there is no problem!

I reviewed that game back in March and my main complaint was exactly that there was simply too much unneeded semi-nudity in it. It was just a bit too much for my taste.

I think it looks too barren for an on-rail shooter. I certainly didn't have fun when watching the Treehouse demos.
