Well, hopefully it's a sign that they're focusing on NX titles. Of course, I have no way of proving this. Also, Tri Force Heroes is fantastic. Awkward online infrastrure, sure. But it's fantastic, gameplay wise. What you may think is OK, others might think are great, that has to be taken into account. You do have some good points though. Chibi-Robo is an interesting case. As far as I'm aware, that series sells terribly and this may be an attempt to grab some more sales for it. You may be sick of them, but 2D platformers sell better than most other genres.

I'll be available again tonight if anyone wants to play. And @dazzybee, I'm sure no-one would mind if you just wanted to get some levels you haven't done yet without applying a challenge to it. I know I wouldn't mind one bit.
-
And I'll be there, leeching off his Wi-Fi, using his console. (Yeah, I'm not buying, not much point.)

*ahem* Flipnote is one of the biggest reasons I got into drawing. But that was long before I joined this site. I won the Zelda and Mario flipnote competitions, damnit! I still think we're not getting it. It seems too good to be true. Still this "earning rewards by playing" sounds intriguing. Looking forward to seeing what that means.

If you choose I can't decide, you'll go along with one of the other player's choices. So if two people choose I can't decide, they go with what the other player chose. I'll open a room in a minute. I've got something that needs to be done, but I should be available for a few more games at 9:30 if you're still up for it then.
-
Just gonna choose challenges I've not done yet while taking turns with you and whoever else joins, unless someone from here could use some help to see the credits.
-
How about 7? That should give enough time for a possible third to show up.
-
I'll be available today if anyone fancies tackling some dungeons together.

No problem. The 3DS version has some new content that wasn't in the WiiU version. People who buy the 3DS version will get a code that allows them to transfer this content to the WiiU version as well. It's not a code for the actual game. Does that help? I'm sure after the game comes out on the 3DS. There'll be some way for WiiU owners to get the 3DS exclusive stuff without buying the game again.

All we know for sure is that the 3DS version will include at least 4 new characters (3 from Wind Waker and 1 from Majora's Mask) 4 (!?) Wind Waker stages, 2 new bosses from Wind Waker, 2 new sub items, (An Ocarina that allows the player to warp to certain spots of the map instantly and a hammer which is used against a certain boss and to activate Warships), the ability to switch between characters during gameplay and something called the Smash Boost Power, which refills a magic gauge if you gather four playable characters near a boss, making it easier to deal with. So far, the only possible way to transfer characters and stages over to the WiiU version is to get the 3DS version and use a download code that comes with it. But I'm sure they'll allow WiiU only users to purchase this extra content seperately a while after the game comes out. ...I hope... The WiiU game by itself is no slouch! It already has 19 (3 of them are free DLC, 3 of them are paid DLC) characters with a variety of weapons to unlock. (29 total, 1 through free DLC, 1 through paid DLC and 1 through the Link/Toon Link amiibo) and a veritable ton of stuff to do. It's a great co-op game as well! With one person using the TV and the other using the Gamepad! I basically got it for the Zelda fanservice, but stayed for the awesome gameplay and content! I personally can't wait for the 3DS version!

Alternatively, you get a muncher, keep shaking it until the three flies appear. This always works.

Well, for what it's worth, I put Hyrule Warriors as my game of the year last year and I still stand by that today. True value for money if you like musou games or are just a massive Zelda nerd like me. DLC is exceptional value for money as well. But keep in mind, the 3DS port will include all the current DLC including a few extras right from the box. We still have no confirmation whether this new stuff will be available as DLC for the WiiU version at some point or not.

Eh... I wouldn't really take his word as gospel. What with him providing no source and me not having an utter clue as to who he is. But I guess I see why people thought that now.

Yeah, I'm a bit mad. Yes, I have played the Mario Paint version, and you're right, it's much easier. But they are kind of different games. MP being more of a bullet hell kind of game and SMM being a touch things quickly kind of game. Both are great fun though! EDIT: You know an update is good news when my own mum sees it and goes "Oh, it's about time. I wondered why there were no checkpoints" You heard it here first. Latest Mario Maker update officially "Approved by Glen-i's mum"
-
I have no idea where people were getting this impression. I never once heard anything about it being free.
-
Welp, I'll have to reupload all my levels. I've wanted checkpoints for a long time! Context sensitive items are also very much appreciated! Wonder if that will work for the Propeller Mushroom/Feather/Super Leaf as well? Eh, I finished Fly Swatter (I refuse to call it Gnat Attack) on my second attempt. I appreciate the harder version!

Yup, I've found myself going for the thumbs up once when I accidentally fell down a hole in an embarrassing manner. Then remembered no-one else was there. It's turned into such a knee-jerk reaction and I love it!

You must have JavaScript enabled on your device to view Miiverse posts that have been embedded in a website. View post in Miiverse I finished The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes the other day. Hero-of-Time has already voiced his disdain for it. But personally, I think he's being a little bit harsh. Yes, the online infrastructure for playing with random people is awkward, (That's putting it kindly) and there'll inevitably be some moments when you realise just how useless some Zelda players can be. The single player is quite tacked on. (Although I have noticed that some bosses behave differently in single player, which is nice) But there's a very easy way to remedy these problems. But I'll talk about that later. The game is obviously a spin-off, focusing on multiplayer co-op, a bit like the Four Swords games, but without the competitive aspect. Tri Force Heroes takes place in Hytopia, a fashion-obsessed kingdom where style is everything. Princess Styla, Princess of Hytopia, receives a very suspect package one day, but opens it anyway because the wrapping is just so gosh darn pretty! But OH NOES! The package contains a curse. A curse that is so heinous, so unbelievably evil, that you couldn't possibly imagine it yourself! IT FORCES HER TO WEAR A ONESIE! OH! THE SHAME! Naturally, this puts the whole town in turmoil, as no-one wants to be fashionable for fear of meeting a similar fate. Enter some kid who looks a lot like Link to save the day. But he can't do it alone, he must team up with other kids who look a lot like Link (But aren't actually called Link, because seriously, who chooses the name Link for a multiplayer focused game? What's wrong with you?) to save the kingdom. Kid who looks like Link must use co-operation, items and the power of fashion to save Hytopia and make obsessive style the only thing that matters again. As you might have guessed, this game has a silly story. And that really sets the tone well. You're not gonna see any dark tribes, any evil abominations or any godly powers here. You're fighting an old woman who actually has a very nice outfit! And that outfit is the key to lifting the curse. Yes, Kid who looks a lot like Link has to dress up as a fashionable old lady in order to break the curse of the onesie. And that's hilarious. The game is split up into 8 different areas, each having 4 dungeons to tackle. You're only equipped with a sword and whatever item the level provides. The puzzles all center around teamwork and some of them get quite elaborate. And there were quite a few which left me scratching my head for a bit. It's definitely tougher than your average Zelda. This however means that there's a good chance that you'll be lumbered with a random person who just can't figure out what to do. But to be fair, that's inevitable. There's no voice chat in this game, which understandably annoys some people. But I would have hated to have someone telling me the exact solutions to every puzzle before I got a chance to try it myself. So I'm not too bothered about it. I feel in a good team, the emoticons provided do an excellent job in getting your point across. You must have JavaScript enabled on your device to view Miiverse posts that have been embedded in a website. View post in Miiverse Or for just being a sarky twod when someone else cops it! Of course, fashion plays a large role in this as you can dress Kid who looks like Link up in all sorts of outfits by getting the right materials and paying a designer to make them for you. There are 36 in total, (Although I believe there's a good chance we'll be seeing more as DLC some time in the future) each one providing a different effect, from upgrading secondary items, finding hearts easier or preventing damage from falling down holes, there's an outfit for every occasion! You must have JavaScript enabled on your device to view Miiverse posts that have been embedded in a website. View post in Miiverse Of course, that also means there's outfits that you probably shouldn't wear sometimes... And yes, you saw that right, Kid who looks like Link is not averse to making himself the prettiest girl in Hytopia. You must have JavaScript enabled on your device to view Miiverse posts that have been embedded in a website. View post in Miiverse But anyway, earlier I said that there was an easy way to avoid the problems that playing with random people online causes. Simply put, you play with friends. Got no friends? Then you play with N-Europe! The best moments I had playing this was when I got together with 2 other N-Europe peeps and tackled some of the dungeons. Working together with two other good players with a similar goal is a great experience and naturally in all the chaos, someone will pull a blunder and it will be hilarious! But there's also moments when the three players work like one well-oiled machine and look positively expert... Until someone accidentally chucks someone down a hole. Which is a good thing really, because each stage also has 3 challenges for you to do, meaning that there's quite a bit of replay value to find. These can range from speed-running a stage, dodging a Wallmaster or not falling into pits once! And are genuinely tricky, but satisfying! Tri Force Heroes is an awkward game, but if you have access to online play, and people who are decent at Zelda, (Or us nutters in the Tri Force Heroes thread) you're in for a treat that will leave you smiling, especially when someone else pulls a faux pas! If you don't have these things... Best just stay away really. You must have JavaScript enabled on your device to view Miiverse posts that have been embedded in a website. 'Fraid not, but it seems you have two others to make a room with. So that's convenient. Have fun! Now that I've seen the credits, I'm focusing on doing the challenges. Not by myself, of course. I can wait until I next go online.
-
I put it down to balancing issues! That boss is so nerve-wracking! I dread to think of how to do that in single player.
-
Convenience. And better loading times. Metroid Prime Trilogy with better loading times is very nice!
-
I think you may have misunderstood me. I'm not talking about Xenoblade X. Well, Wii games in general look better on a smaller screen, because they're not HD games.
-
Had fun @Hero\-of\-Time. Sorry about the crazy lag when a random replaced H-O-T. But at least we got some levels done.
-
I'll open a room then. @dazzybee, we'll wait in my room.
-
Right, Ret-2-Go! Go ahead and open a room.
