Turnip Prices Thread - Playing The Market In New Horizons
Glen-i replied to Hero-of-Time's topic in Nintendo Gaming
I don't really check whether I have a spike or not (I like the risk and mystery) but my prices are currently 177 bells. -
I played the first SNES game, charming game, a bit too unforgiving for my liking though. No saving in a SNES game really bothers me. I've always wanted to play the N64 game though, looks bonkers!

No, I'm pretty sure it's only Mii costumes you don't own. Because of how replays work, (Recreates the button inputs rather than flat out recording the match), it can't use costumes because you don't have that data in your game. Actual characters, however, still work, because when you download an update, it includes the characters, stages and music, so your version of the game won't crash if you meet up with a Min Min or Steve player. Mii costumes and custom stages take up much less space than proper characters, so the game can get away with temporairly loading them for each player (This is why loading a custom stage online takes a little longer than a normal stage)

Oh wait, forgot about Bomberman. Yeah, I got him too. (Gold coins for the win!) Don't worry about that. Can't use custom stages in videos though. So any matches on there won't be in the vid.

It still works because Mega Man's animations are designed to be very close to the NES games. And so they look charmingly cheap.
-
Fair warning, when I was making my last highlight video, I couldn't use a match where you were sporting your Goemon outfit because I didn't own it. So try to not use a DLC one that I don't have. (Basically anything that's not Sans or Cuphead) When I next get paid, I'm gonna get that Goemon one though, it's really grown on me.

I mean, I suppose you can have Mega Man (and Mr. Game & Watch) in a sort of "Budget animation" catagory. That good for you?
-
Neither of them are on the above list though?

Super Mario Maker 2 challenge - June challenge has started!

Yeah, I've had some proper creator's block this month, couldn't get anything down that I was satisfied with. -
Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity (20th November 2020)
Glen-i replied to Julius's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Well I can reply to that too. Musou games by design are just incredibly flawed. Tons of enemies standing around doing almost nothing, and the need to clear out bases in a formulaic fashion. See, that applies to a normal playthrough. Whack the difficulty up (or go to the late game adventure maps, which takes longer, obviously) and the game quickly changes from button mashing through everything to battlefield management. Choosing where you button mash is far more integral to success than how good you are at button mashing. Late game will have you having to make quick decisions about where your overpowered character of death needs to be, because they can't be everywhere and your army is even more hopeless than the one you're fighting. Co-op is a riot as well, telling each other where you're going and what needs to be done, only for the circumstances to suddenly change and someone having to bolt it halfway across the map is a great laugh! The early game of Hyrule Warriors (and Fire Emblem) is a bit mindless and leaves a bad first impression, but really dig deep into the tougher challenges and it's a lot more fun and strategic. I'm glad I stuck with the WiiU version, because it became one of my favourite games on that system. -
The physics are utterly borked in that. Try not to use the hover to maneuver yourself around because it'll just let you down. Instead, use it as a sort of emergency brake right when you're above a red coin. Oh, and I did it first time on my HD run, bit of a fluke that.

Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity (20th November 2020)
Glen-i replied to Julius's topic in Nintendo Gaming
See, I can't help but think it's the perfect genre for a war scenario. You can't really do the fighting against thousands of enemies justice in a traditional Zelda style, because you'd get battered. Here, it's perfect. Out of curiosity, what is it you don't like about Musou games? -
Friend Codes, Fruit, Trading and Photo Thread For Animal Crossing

I doubt this is the case, because my little 10 Pumpkin patch has all 4 colours. I guess green are just rare. -
Friend Codes, Fruit, Trading and Photo Thread For Animal Crossing
Glen-i replied to Hero-of-Time's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Won't be back online until Thursday, I'm afraid. -
OK, I'm bored of 51 Worldwide Games. Let's Play Wii Sports! Oh wait, but that means having to dig out the WiiU... I can't be bothered doing that... Eh, we'll just play Golf and Bowling on the Switch instead. It's close enough. This week's games: Golf, Bowling Each game will be played once. Bracketing: @viceview51 VS @S.C.G @Glen-i VS @drahkon Golf rules: "Play 9 Holes" format Starting Hole - #1 Bowling Rules: "Play 10 Frames" format Bumpers - Off Hmmm? The bracketing is wrong? Well, yeah. But these games are turn based and you can't influence the other person's game, so it doesn't matter. It's a good opportunity to join someone you don't usually play against. And as you're about to find out, it won't matter who you play against anyway. ATTENTION: These might be 2-player games online, but due to the nature of these games, I can theoretically pit us all against each other. So at the end of each game, keep track of what your exact score is. A Switch Screenshot will do nicely. I'll compare all 4 of our scores and you'll get 1 to 4 points depending on how much better you did then everyone else, so don't throw the game if you happen to be losing against the person you're with, you might beat someone from the other pair. Any questions, just ask.

My new Mario deck gives me the determination to get the results up quickly! 16 games down now. Next set will be up soon.
-
I was actually starting to think that I was going to get utterly creamed on all three games going into Pig's Tail. Anyway, @viceview51 won 2 of the games while I won 1.
-
OK, room's open when you're done.
-
You available now?
-
Anyway, I just realised that if you choose to start a game as Small Mario, you get a X2 multiplier to your score. Got over 2,000 coins after I won a game just now.

Friend Codes, Fruit, Trading and Photo Thread For Animal Crossing
Glen-i replied to Hero-of-Time's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Maybe so, but you can send messages to each other without visiting their Islands if you're besties. So might as well. I'm available until 5pm today. Nah, it's cool. I'm only interested in the Monster Statues. Oh, and I just tried to send you some diner stuff, but you're not showing up, I guess we do have to meet up in-game for it recognise us as friends. -
Man, that's really harsh on two fantastic platformers. Especially when I like them more than the first DKC by quite a margin. Speaking of the first DKC, my favourite level from that is Blackout Basement. You see, my biggest issue with DKC is that compared to the levels in the other two games, DKC 1's are kinda dull. DKC 2 and 3 started to lean more into what I like to call the "Mario 3D World structure". Basically, in Mario 3D World, almost every level has some kind of mechanic that, once the level is done, you'll probably never see it again. DKC 3 is basically this and that's why it's my favourite of the SNES trilogy. But that's not to say DKC 1 doesn't have hints of this. Stop & Go Station, Temple Tempest and Tanked Up Trouble are great examples of the game throwing a twist at you to keep things interesting. But Blackout Basement is my favourite. It also helps that Fear Factory is the best music in the game. Going on to DKC 2, Haunted Hall wins out for me. I do like me some minecart style levels, and as far as the SNES games go, this one is the best. Music's great too and it stops Gloomy Gulch from being a utterly hopeless world. (Don't know why I called that world Kremwood Forest earlier, isn't that DKC 3?) Anyway, what the hell is up with Kackle? Sure, DKC 2 has the darkest tone of the three, but at it's core, it's still two monkeys fighting against goofy Crocodile Pirates. And then this thing shows up! Bound to give your 5 year old nightmares. (Shout out to Squawk's Shaft, not because it's a particularly great level, but because of that name. How the hell did that get past Nintendo's censors!? That's the kind of naughty Rare that makes the Banjo games so funny.) DKC 3 is defo the hardest to choose a favourite level from, there are so many unique mechanics in play in this game. I think I have to go with Ripsaw Rage. An auto-scroller with some good context on why it's an auto-scroller. That said, how effin huge are the (I assume) Kremlings that are handling that saw? Anyway, it's a very clever level. Although, I might change my mind on that on any given day.

@viceview51, it's occurred to me that you never actually specified evening. I kinda assumed as such, but if you're available before 5pm, then I can do today.
