It's not about precision, it's about having a limit and being able to feel what limit. When you push to the edge of an analogue stick cup you know that is as far as your car will turn- you can turn a Wiimote endlessly and the feedback you get is the same. You lose the feeling of control- which isn't a problem in shitty games like Excite Truck where you can spin a car mid air. The turning on your vechile has a limit, so should the controller.

1 GBA for 60,000 stars and a DS that you had to pay £129 for. Age of Empires was shit, I know they give away some stuff but not nearly enough to warrant it's existance. I'll be happy once they're all gone into points. But yeah I am aware of what the catalogue is up to at the moment.

You are a freak. You realise this, yes? Good. I got 250.

I am so glad you guys aren't running the train wreck that would be Nintendo. Ahahaha.

That Gradius collection will probably end up on the VC/network hub which is why it's not worth putting onto disc based media. Compilations always do shite because stores overcharge. Cancelled: # Jikkyou Powerful Pro Baseball (PS3) Announced: # Sports Game -- Baseball (Wii) Wii gets projects that are too risky for PS3 confirmed. # Music Simulation Game (Wii) = DDR, Guitar Freaks or Drum Freaks. # New Action Adventure Game (Wii) = Castlevania Wii? Kojima's outhouse project?

Do please shut up. You'll ruin it for the rest of us if Nintendo hears people saying such ridiculous things. Just look what Mario Kart DS did for the Nintendo DS- Nintendo could have easily released it as single player but instead due to pressure from reviewers they rushed it out for Christmas making it a much better game.

Test Drive unlimited shows what is possible online. Mario Kart DS shows what is not possible online. Speed > Number of racers. 8 would be a sweet spot for me.
-
Yes you can. As stated in my original post, and evident in the picture that I posted. If you're talking about multiple accounts no.
-
Let's put it this way, if they use anything other than an analogue stick on a classic style controller to steer- I will not buy it. F-Zero is not Mario Kart or Excite Truck. They cannot get away with dishing out shit for what appears to be their only hardcore racer on the system.

I am expecting the account linking to be finished this week. Updates are usually on Thursdays to the catalogue so I'll be moseying about Nintendo tomorrow.

In terms of business relations Sega would be insulting Nintendo's offer if they refused. I'd say highly likely- depends if Sakurai feels Sonic can be a balanced character, I think he'd be a bit too much like Yoshi.

Stuff appears to be happening, if you didn't know Nintendo is going to offer us a way of exchanging an unknown amount of Nintendo Stars into an unknown amount of Virtual Console points to spend on games. By clicking the link you get the following message: You only have access to these benefits once you link your Club Nintendo account to the Wii shop, it is thought that all purchases on the virtual console will equate to stars. Keep your eyes open for the expected questionaire that is meant to be happening- I think it's going to be a big week for Club Nintendo. As soon as the questionaire hits, we should be able to claim stars on VC purchases and also be able to get some free stars for games- don't get your hopes up for thousands.. and it might be a first come first served deal like most items in the Stars Catalogue. --- Wii system update is out- updating now. 2.1E adds parental controls. No sign of any other changes.

If the system is modular (or even if it isn't) it's a 2 day job to implement something like that. Not that the game needs downloadable content- because it's basically a screw you to everyone without the internet. It's not an FPS and I don't think it needs that toss. If anyone is going to push for online play it's Reggie- he's put his neck on the line about the release date which suggests that he is completely aware of what is going on and how long it is going to take.

Mizuguchi (Rez, Space Channel 5, Meteos) has quite a following now, there is a market for one of his mental games on each console. He is interested in a Rez sequel but that is up to Sega, he's also interested in a new Space Channel 5 but again- Sega owns the rights. Not that I think it will come to Wii because he's said it is his in his interests to explore with HD visuals and surround sound. Wii has neither. For Mizuguchi control is not an evolution really- so whatever you think about him or the Wii do not get your hopes up, the games just aren't really compatible with his visions. I reckon we'll see a trippy new IP using the controller.

Metroid is easily one of the hardest games Nintendo Europe has to translate, they have to put out 5 languages- for all the scans and lore in what should be a huge world. The game will be done (in English) by March- but considering it's so text intensive I don't expect to see it in PAL land for a long time. Retro promised after so much was cut out of Prime (which was already savagely delayed) that they wouldn't let the translators do it again.

Nyko solution to pointer range problems
Nintendork replied to michaelarran's topic in Nintendo Gaming
So you work for these guys? I've seen a picture of this device I think- who the funk designed it? It looks like shit. You might be interested to know this is a European forum Mike- when does it come out here? and don't even think about charging £20 for it. -
Proof that nobody wants to play Mario Kart on PC coming soon. Dani they're just modders, they're not going to profit from this- it's a very easy way for a group of friends to get a project down and have some experience before getting their first job in the game's industry. I hope they get a job doing what they love.

The only problem I see with supporting two Wiimotes is the cost factor- I expect as Nintendo orders more parts they'll be able to source them cheaper and pass on that saving to us.. it could alienate a lot of single players. The distinct problem with using a Wiimote and nunchuck is the weight difference- I'm not sure how it is in Rayman but if you try juggling with 3 different weighted objects it's really tough to get a rhythm. It isn't simply shake to win- and having a light wiimote potentially fucks it up if you're on a really hardcore Samba.
-
Nah the nunchuck can handle that shit for sure. As far as I am aware it has the exact same motion sensor (sourced from patent serial numbers)- just no pointing device. Games use a bolder gesture for the nunchuck because it typically has one purpose- eg. the swing in Zelda.

Marginally cheaper- but to have one production line of one unit is much easier and quicker. It wouldn't be huge but like the DS, it's an international unit bar the health and safety data- they can pump them out at 350,000 per month or something ridiculous. It's an unfair comparison but it certainly wouldn't cost more.
-
If anything it would have been cheaper Solitaire, because there would be no need for simultaneous production lines of 4+ different units. Nintendo wants the control. This was a decision made by Nintendo JP, not EU.
-
Why the funk are some Pokemon games bundled like Diamond and Pearl where as others are seperate like Red and Blue. Savagely unfair comparisons- one or the other.

You got my hopes up there. Shame on you. It's just a rumour from a podcast ranting about Sonic.
