What a terrible day this has been for Wii games. The darkest day in Wii history thus far... I literally almost died as Shino put it several pages back when I saw the Zelda score on Gamespot "I WAS CORRECT!!!". But despite the disappointing scores, I've been thinking... This game is a port after all, and with the scores its gotten, it is already the most successful port of all time. That in itself is a great achievement. With these revelations, my belief is even stronger, Super Mario Galaxy will be the flagship game of the Wii console.

ZOMG, I WAS CORRECT! 8.8/10 UNBELIEVABLE!!!! HE MENTIONED THE EXACT SAME THINGS I SAID AS TO WHY THE GAME WOULD GET 8.8/10 by someone, its as if the words have been taken right out of my mouth. Recall?? I mentioned those very things as reasons ultimating to the score of 8.8/10. Unbelievable... NOTE: Not anger, "suprised". Can't believe I got this correct. Very bad for the gamerankings rating though... Most certainly disappointed and has ruined my day to an extent, the IGN score is alright as I read the review, as Matts criticisms are well justified and i'm inclined to agree with him even though I would've liked a higher score, but the gamespot review on the other hand, I just wish he would've made it 9/10, its badly stuffed the average, it might not even pass Resident Evil 4 now... :shakehead :shakehead :shakehead :shakehead :shakehead :shakehead :shakehead :shakehead :shakehead :shakehead :shakehead :shakehead :shakehead :shakehead :shakehead :shakehead Now the highest it will finish is third, if it maintains that average of 96.3% after 20 reviews, it could surpass Metroid Prime, but Soul Calibur is beyond reach, OOT is still NUMBER ONE. At the end of the day though, despite the disappointment of the fact the game is said to be easy and the scores are not all that great, as long as the game passes Resident Evil 4 and hopefully Tekkin 3, i'll settle for a 4th Place spot...

1ST BAD ZELDA REVIEW: http://www.gamerankings.com/itemrankings/launchreview.asp?reviewid=743622 ONLY 9/10, DRASTICALLY AFFECTED THE AVERAGE, dropped it to 97.5%. It cannot beat OOT now... Can still beat Soul Cailbur though... ... Come on GAMESPOT and IGN, they must give this game 9.5 bare minimum...

If IGN and Gamespot both give Twilight Princess 9.5 and above, its on par to consolidating a position in the top 5 games of all time.

Like the novelty of the Tennis Racquet and Baseball Bat attachments. Will enhance the enjoyment of Wii Sports for some people.

^-- Great result, they are usually VERY HARSH reviewers. Why the heck have Gamerankings been so slow to add these new scores?
-
How much motion sensing is incorporated into the game does it use motion or tilt in the game?
-
Another good score for ZELDA. Within 10 hours or so, the BIG ONE [Zelda review on IGN] shall be up.

I can answer that question, being the review expert, the 98% at the top of the page is rounding to the nearest decimal in .5 increments taking into account the scores from publications that are BOLDED, in other words, eligible to be added to the average ratio score. The 98.3% represents the average rating of all scores (Its 5 + 10 + 10 + 9.9 + 9.6 + 9.5 + 9.9 [not bold] = 63.9/65 = 98.30) Then you have the average ratio which is the scores from each publication out of 100 marks (Its 100 + 100 + 100 + 99 + 96 + 95 + 99 [NOT BOLD] = 689/700 = 98.42. But seeing that publications that aren't bolded are not eligible to be added to the average ratio, the average ratio in reality is 590/600 = 98.3, hence the 98% above with the rounding down to the nearest .5 increment.

I know it was mentioned above but wasn't sure if everyones read it yet: http://www.gamerankings.com/itemrankings/launchreview.asp?reviewid=743437 ^-- Red Steel Review. Decent review overall. Multiplayer best part of the game. [JIST: Very poor AI As we all anticipated months ago, tedious sword combat that actually detracts from gameplay, inconsistent graphics and control issues but fun overall].

GOOD LUCK! Fortunately you won't have to worry about criminals like the thieves that stole a few PS3s and Xbox 360 consoles, as they'd consider the console childish but more importantly, it has approximately 1.5 times less "market value" than a PS3 console does.

Will be purchasing the following games: Zelda - Given but want to see the game achieve great success with aggregate scores. Care more about the scores for this game than any other game. Monkey Ball - Was always going to be a purchase for me to begin with, the scores are satisfactory. Liked all games in the series. Red Steel. Buying this to attempt to ensure Ubisoft continues to support Wii & acknowledge effort put into the game. Expecting scores of around 6/10, but still buying, for Nintendos sake, they need third party support to continue. Wii Play (ONLY FOR THE WII MOTE) This game could get 0/10 and i'd still buy it, just for the Wii Mote. Thats it for now. The ultimate Wii game of 2007 I reckon will be Super Mario Galaxy, will end up being the flagship game of the console like Super Mario 64 was for N64. It could show the true potential of the console where no sacrifices are made. Conventional and New gameplay comes together to form the ultimate playing experience, as all other Wii games involve some form of sacrifice, REMEMBER the previews at E3 were EXTREMELY positive almost to the point where they couldn't pinpoint criticisms, control was ABSOLUTELY PREFECT. Maybe Metroid Prime: Corruption on the condition they nail the control, they're close but not quite there yet. SIDE NOTE: I am still rather cut at the lack of a proper game case for Wii Sports instead giving us a cheap cardboard slip. Doesn't help in the value department for the console, I like to have whole cases so I can have them on display in my glass cabinet.

http://www.gamerankings.com/htmlpages2/929717.asp?q=sonic Sonic & The Secret Rings is gonna destroy this game. Look at the mediocre scores its getting expect similar scores with the PS3 version as well. A perfect opportunity for gameplay to shine over graphics. Lets hope the final product achieves this.

I wasn't phased in the slightest the scores are quite satisfying for me seeing that I had no real interest in the game to begin with, as soon as I heard its a compilation of mini games, I thought to myself, 8/10 guaranteed to which has now become a reality. I'll give it a rental though just in case I'm mistaken about the fun factor of the game, may suddenly become interested...

They've given quite a few 10/10s, most recent being Gears of War and now Twilight Princess. We're just very lucky this guy happened to be the one assigned to Twilight Princess, he seemed to enjoy it very much, wouldn't of gotten 10 from any of the other editors though... It should be updated on Gamerankings.com soon, approaching 6 editorial reviews with an average of 98%. Heres hoping it continues. I'm going to create some phony email accounts and continue to give 10s to the game to try and get it up to user interest level of 9, so it could possibly do the UNTHINKABLE and have a chance of passing Ocarina Of Time but at the very least, setting itself up for a top 5 berth.
-
Why, I ain't flaming anyone and I haven't said in this thread, OMFG WHAT A F****N DISGRACE. The scores have been quite good for Twilight Princess overall, although I am concerned for what Gamespot will give the game as well as IGN. 10 is always better than 9.5 but seeing that they only review in .5 increments in reality, he probably would've given the game about 9.8. I don't expect this game to be the highest rating, I just want it to surpass Resident Evil 4. I'll be happy if it achieves this.
-
I originally had posted that review first, but i'll let you take the credit seeing that I already had three automerged posts with this topic becoming stagnant. Good Result. Now Matt at IGN is under serious pressure now, there'll be a backlash if he doesn't give 10 or 9.8 at the very least.

What do you think about the lack of wii channels on purchse?
solitanze replied to dannbrownn's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Good complete service over half assed rushed service anyday. -
I like that picture with the trees and waterfall in the background...

I just hope they NAIL the controls. Based on latest playtests, they say they're 90% there with perfect control, but still got minor issues with the trade off between aiming vs movement, but obviously leaps and bounds beyond red steel.

Someone over at the IGN Wii boards mentioned this and got banned from the forums. The PS3 Failure Equation = Microsoft Acquisition of Square Enix [NO FINAL FANTASY] + Microsoft Acquisition of Capcom [NO BIOHAZARD/RESIDENT EVIL] + Microsoft Acquisition of Konami [NO METAL GEAR SOLID] <-- Thus granting 100% exclusivity and no incentive for people to buy a PS3. Could Microsoft really afford to buy these 3 calibur companies?

Either way, its not so bad, they gave OOT 9.5/10 as well. LINK TO SHOW THAT OOT GOT 9.5/10 as well: http://www.gamerankings.com/htmlpages4/197771.asp TRAUMA CENTER - SECOND OPINION GAMESPOT REVIEW: http://gamespot.com/wii/adventure/traumacentersecondopinion/review.html?sid=6161923 SUPER MONKEY BALL - BANANA BLITZ GAMESPOT REVIEW: http://gamespot.com/wii/action/supermonkeyballbananablitz/review.html?sid=6161924
