Zelda: Twilight Princess Discussion (SPOILERS: BEWARE)
solitanze replied to EchoDesiato's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Mid next week, more silence agreements will be lifted and this will be the last lot of details about the game before the REVIEWS!!!! I'll be back just in time for when scores start circulating around the internet as the next few days I won't be present in the forums having to attend to extremely important duties. That means no criticism updates for your reading pleasure unfortunately... -
Both really. But we can be assured in regards to sales Twilight Princess will sell the most. I reckon this game is capable of being the greatest selling Zelda game in the series to date. Ocarina of Time didn't do that well with sales, it only sold about 8 million copies.

Zelda: Twilight Princess Discussion (SPOILERS: BEWARE)

Agreed, they certainly are but unfortunately they will result in deductions which is a real shame. -
Do you think that there'll be a Pokemon Channel like mode in this game where you can play with Pokemon, pat them etc.
-
If they want to make minimal money, they do something like that.
-
This game SHOULD turn out better than Geist.
-
SD wih an SD, probably won't happen.
-
Will you be able to select from male and female characters in this game and customise their bodies with a create a character feature similar to Tiger Woods Golf?
-
No it isn't.
-
The sensor bars just the right size to sit above my TV, perfect. Although I wish it were wireless, stretching out that cord will be tedious as I have the TV in a massive wall unit and theres this long piece of wood at the back, is the cord a decent length?

The Wii can hook up to your PC and can act as an external CD drive.
-
Does this appear to be a Path Of Radiance rehash clone? I've never played Path Of Radiance on GC so thats why im asking.
-
I've seen character requests, but have we ever discussed ARENA requests, they've got to make a Luigis Mansion arena and have some moves with the Vaccuum cleaner for Luigi. For Wario, the stage should be a backdrop from either Wario World or Wario Land on Gameboy, the song of the arena would definitely be one of the early stages in Wario Land, appropriate for the game.

Happy Feet.

Exactly what they did with Twilight Princess they are doing with this game and its the better move, tacking on Motion Sensor capabilities, they're probably doing the same with that Kirby Game as well. Why keep games on a console that'll earn them $1US revenue. Gamecubes finished and despite getting Nintendo the bare minimum required to be successful finacially, in comparison to the performance of PS2, it was a complete failure. Nintendos least successful console in history [excluding Virtual Boy] can now be put to rest after its final game being Twilight Princess is released. Bring on Wii and its 100+ novelty games [mixed in with some quality games as well].

Zelda: Twilight Princess Discussion (SPOILERS: BEWARE)
solitanze replied to EchoDesiato's topic in Nintendo Gaming
*Criticism Index on Page 209 updated with NEW GAMESPOT criticisms. ALSO ADDED PLANET GAMECUBE criticisms, quite a lot I found there, on par with Kotaku. & Finally have Twilight Princess actually spelt correctly with the insertion of the ninth letter of the alpahbet which is --> I. I've been thinking, based on the pros vs the cons. I'm going to make a realistic prediction shying away from my previous 8.8/10 predictions early on when the controls were extremely buggy. I reckon Twilight Princess after 10+ reviews will achieve an average score of 96.3% at the very highest [Not a single publication will score the game perfect 10 but close] with an average vote of 8.9/10, this means it will claim third spot on the all time list on gamerankings.com, it will not surpass Ocarina of Time or Soul Calibur, the game will be penalised too much due to the criticisms that i've listed on page 209 but it could still go as low as 95.8% with an average vote of 8.8 in which case it would not make the top 5 games of all time on gamerankings.com. My ideal result is for the game to surpass Resident Evil 4 in rankings and sneak into the top 5 and I think it'll do just that. -
I think from a review stand point, Wii Sports will flop, it will just be too simple to the verteran game journalists, expect scores of around 6/10, [REFER to MATTs Comments in his IGN blog] but from a non gamer stand point and people that just want short bursts of fun, to the public, it will be a success. Red Steel won't flop as a game, but will be heavily penalised by veteran gamers that will prefer traditional control over the new control scheme, but again, the masses will enjoy. Necro Nesisa will FLOP guaranteed...

Remember in the original Smash Bros how in Target Smash if you broke your record, the guy would crack it and say "OH NO RECORD!". He calmed down in the next game.

Zelda: Twilight Princess Discussion (SPOILERS: BEWARE)
solitanze replied to EchoDesiato's topic in Nintendo Gaming
The only thing thats really going against this game getting near perfect 10 scores was the fact it was originally a cube game. Thats where the bulk of the criticism is based upon. If this game was never a cube game to begin with, most criticism of the game would cease to exist, so in a sense, Nintendo in an attempt to maximise customer satisfaction --> sales, has created a trade off where friendly fire on the Wii version has resulted, penalties due to the perceived belief that it was an afterthought and it could've been better. It will be too much for some and the person in particular that demonstates this, is Mark Wilson from Kotaku, he almost dismisses the game being on Wii as an afterthough that it is only a "little better" not WAY better like all the others have said. This is a very good sign though, that were unlikely to get a substantial number of people significantly penalising the game. Of course though, just like every other game in history, you have those few individuals that gives the game a lower rating than everyone else. Some kid gave OOT 8/10 and its on gamerankings. -
Zelda: Twilight Princess Discussion (SPOILERS: BEWARE)
solitanze replied to EchoDesiato's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Nah, it won't affect my enjoyment of the game. I did the same thing with OOT [which still remains my favourite game to date] and Majoras Mask in particular [that's an underrated game as it had some really unique elements to it, a lot darker than previous Zelda games, with the exception of the upcoming Twilight Princess of course]. Although it doesn't appear so, just like everyone here, I am REALLY looking forward to this game, its looking like it will be a fantastic game. I just want it to live up to its name and be a memorable experience. The rankings don't have an influence on my opinion as such, its just the prestige knowing that you've played and enjoyed an all time classic. -

LEGEND OF ZELDA: TWILIGHT PRINCESS - CRITICISM INDEX: =====*MOVED*===== NOTE: Previous entries have been deleted, its merely been moved. PURPOSE: The aim of this message is to ensure that you, the readers of this forum topic are aware of potential areas where the review scores could be PENALISED. Every .1 point counts and can potentially ruin its chances of achieving the highest aggregate average review score number in the history of gaming [to which we'd all like to see become a reality] if game journalists penalise the game due to the issues mentioned below and others as well not mentioned. -
After having another look at the first few seconds of gameplay footage to be shown, it doesn't look that bad, Wii needs games like this and its good were getting a game like this. Disaster and Project Hammer just look similar to each other with respect to combat, appearance, story line similarities, graphics etc.

Dragon Quest Swords: The Masked Queen and the Tower of Mirrors
solitanze replied to Sarka's topic in Nintendo Gaming
The problem is not enough people give these sorts of games a chance and the reactions with some of the forum members here has shown this with them automatically dismissing the game. These are experimentation games from the developers. Why are they making spin off franchises of games on Wii? Its a test, they would in reality like to put their premier franchises on Wii if it were a platform with a large established userbase that buys a lot of games and generates revenue which currently despite the higher development costs, a lot of developers are taking the safe road and resorting to developing for the Playstation brand with the perceived belief that the established userbase will buy larger quantities of their games than on any other system. But skepticism about Wiis possibility of success is due to recent lacklustre GC performance and is still prevalent especially seeing that Wii becoming a significant consumer magnet $$$ is currently unproven nor guaranteed. Us getting PROPER fully fledged premier franchise games is dependent on sufficient quantities of these spin off games selling [ENOUGH DEMAND] to justify developers creating expensive PREMIER franchise games on Wii. The restoration of Nintendos former glory claiming the video game market throne again is very much dependant on consumer choice with the games we buy.
