  1. Whats your ratio to home time compared to attending to duties outside the home? In that answer lies your answer. More home time, Wii as you can listen to music on PC with better sound quality than any MP3 player on the market courtesy of unparalled equaliser customisations and speaker configurations, if you go out a lot with school work committments, regular sex at other peoples houses or on the street etc than get a portable MP3 player such as Zune. But in your decision, you MUST take into account the amount of usage you predict that you'll get out of the product. You want to get maximum value for every hard earnt fiat money currency spent on whatever device you end up getting as a gift.
  2. BUILT INTO INTERNAL FLASH MEMORY? "a board map of four play" Are we gonna see a Sexual themed board?
  3. I'm glad that isn't the US and/or Europe boxart. Big thumbs down from me. The one were getting IS WAY better than box which is average at best.
  4. Thanks, although that information tells us s**t all about the game. I want simulated dice rolling with the Wiimote with shaking in the palm of your hand and flicking the Wiimote as if you're releasing the dice, if you just press the A button for rolling the dice, then NO DICE! [as in no purchase] Other additions i'd like included are UPDATED GRAPHICS and they look to have improved ever so slightly but i'd like to see more improvement, it has to progress, getting too repetitive, 10 boards AT THE VERY LEAST double figures for the 1st time, more characters, break the 100 barrier with standard mini games, have quality mini games through all categories, online play would be good more options items etc and make the computer play say No to a star at least once, only ONCE EVER have I seen a computer character say no to a star, it was Mario Party 1 on the Jungle Board, DK said no after my player was taunting him, toad CRACKED IT.
Can anyone translate this information about Mario Party 8?
  6. I think its the boots, one of my favourite characters in the previous installment [when I needed to rely on the speed attribute], so thats the main reason i'm currently so unfavourable for the current design. Don't get me wrong its great theres confirmation that hes in the game, but personally, I prefer the traditional look, obviously though the director has the intention of making this game as different as possible to previous installments and thats a good thing as long as the things that made the previous installment great remain in tact or made superior, just not inferior, like perhaps 50+ stages, 50+ characters [a lot of new ones hoping for Mega-Man and Samus thats all we need really with respect to third party characters], 1000 trophies, a themed single player main game for EACH CHARACTER not the same generic main game like in Melee that got too repetitive and boring, 100+ event matches like the 50 or so we had in Melee increasing in difficulty, new items [The showing of the Nintendodogs item looks very promising for what we can expect in the final game] ONLINE PLAY!!!, expanded training mode with more mini games than ever in addition to the Bot killing, Sandbag Homerun, Target Smash etc and obviously unparalled statistical records and multiplayer configuration options. I reckon with this unveiling of the choice of style for Fox, it almost confirms that Cel Shaded Link will be in the game (in addition to adult link that is).
  7. That is terrible character design. Why did they have to go with the NEW DS style character look and not stick with the traditional look from Melee, he looks so much better in that game than this. Is that leaked image 100% legit?
  8. Ok... I'll reserve judgement until November 19th when I'll actually have a copy of the game and scores will be circulating the media.
  9. I do want to see this game achieve ultimate success, but I am merely pointing out issues with the game because there will be some people out there that will deliberately use these issues as fuel to deliberately penalise the game and automatically deny it of a top 5 berth in the highest rated games of all time on the internet and if too many publications rate this game too low, as in below 9.7 at the absolute lowest from the most high profile game sites such as IGN, Gamespot etc, then there are going to be a lot of pissed off people crying on the internet saying how Nintendo let them down with a less than spectacular game and people could retaliate and say "WE'VE BEEN WAITING 4 YEARS FOR THIS CRAP, THATS IT, I'M GOING TO BUY A PS3, F**K YOU NINTENDO". This game even though not a 100% pure Wii game is the very game at which most peoples judgements about the quality of Wiis controller and the console as a whole will be based on and seeing that this is the only reason most people are buying the console, if there are too many negative opinions on the internet and through other mediums such as Magazine and newspaper articles etc, its only going to severly damage Nintendos reputation even more to the point of almost being forced to exit the console market due to stagnant sales from consumers and decreased third party support equalling failure and all this rests on one single game.
  10. Thats good to hear. One less issue with the game.
  11. [spoiler=] Q) First question is about the camera. Can you control it in 3rd person like you could in Wind Waker? If not, does it detract from the experience, or do you not even notice? A) No, you don't control the camera manually, aside from being able to centre it by behind Link by pressing Z. The automatic camera is clever enough and the only time you have issues is when you're right up against a wall and the camera goes right behind Link's a**e. That only happened a few times throughout my 34 hours though. <-- A few times too many... You never have those classic early 3D world problems where you just can't get the camera where you want it in order to perform a jump. When I refer to the camera in the options, it actually inverting your aiming when you have the sights up. So, when you get the Gale Boomerang out or even when you tap C to go into first-person mode, you can invert it. Q) Other than the stab, does the direction you move the Wii Remote cause Link to swing the sword in generally the same direction? A) No, it's not that accurate. If you slash with the remote Link slashes with his right arm in a kind of 'in front of his head to to the right of his leg' way. You can't make him slash to the left but you don't really need to. I'll give you an example. If you're standing in between two pots, a standard slash will hit the pot on Link's right. If you want to hit the one on the left you just turn left a bit and slash it… it's really not a problem. <-- This doesn't sound too good either, but thats the case even with games such as OOT right, I'm pretty sure you had to stop and turn slightly to hit another pot. Q) Is the music orcestrated? A) No. I'm torn on this subject. I have a lot of time for midi music, especially when it's done as well as this, but there are definitely moments when the synth strings just don't have the depth or separation they need. I bought the Final Fantasy III DS soundtrack while I was at TGS and some of the stuff on there (especially the theme tune) is spectacular… really emotive. I think TP could've done with some of that. Don't get me wrong though. There are some great tunes in the game. <-- Why does he say the music is AMAZING and then suddenly he criticises it, not good Q) I have one of those smaller televisions in my room i have my gamecube on it and that works fine but ive heard that the Wii is widescreen does this mean that i will only get some of the picture with bits cut off or does it automatically set itself to the screen size? A) No, you'll get a letterbox picture I'm afraid. <-- GUARANTEED PENALTY right there... Q) Apart from hitting an enemy, will the game sometimes lag, or will it maintain a 30 fps frame-rate throughout? A) I saw one or two insignificant drops when the camera panned out over a huge area in a cut scene. <-- WHY??? But it never dropped to 'ooooh, that's bad' levels. I've never seen it drop in gameplay. Sounding like it'll turn out to be a good game, I just hope these continual issues that are being raised about the game don't significantly affet the review scores, because after all, I do want this game to achieve all time greatness, Nintendo has to live up to their promise.
  12. So even if they had been organised and made this a Wii game to begin with and started adding Wii Mote functionality early instead of tacking it on late into its development Super Mario 64 DS style, the control issues still would've remained due to the limitations of the WiiMote? So the game itself is not flawed but the Wii Mote is? Or is there too high expectations on the capabilities of the Wii Mote?
  13. Nah I ain't offended, I'm just disappointed with Nintendo, they could've offered us a far superior final game to this bug ridden version.
  14. Except, theres continual mention of lag when swining the Wii Mote, is that in order for the gesture to be recognised on screen. This better not significantly penalise the game.
  15. Are the reactions in the Wii Experience videos for Twilight Princess legitimate or are they deliberately exaggerated [due to $$$$$$$$$$$$$$]?
  16. These larger scans just reaffirm my original statement regarding this game. It will be a Rocket Slime DS clone with Wiimote controls and a first person view instead of third person. Yoshis Safari Wii style here we come.
  17. Interesting theory in regards to what the game can be: http://boards.ign.com/nintendo_wii_lobby/b8270/130307073/p1/?5
  18. I read the entire preview, looks like its shaping up well, but I want to see a preview completely independent from Nintendo [i.E. 1UP.com, IGN etc]: I must admit, even back at E3 I had concerns about the controls. Would the Wii Remote swordplay get tedious? Would it be tiring? Is the pointing device accurate enough to get me out of a tight spot at the drop of a hat? Thankfully the answers are 'no, 'no' and 'yes'. I have to say though, there’s a mental barrier to cross with the Wii, and it’s one that I’m only just beginning to break through. The problem is, even though I know the pointer works relatively (as opposed to where I’m pointing on the screen), I still find myself wanting to point at specific areas of the screen. So I’ll have the bow out and I swear I’m pointing at the screen. The thing is I’m not supposed to be. My Sensor Bar is actually sat a foot below the screen because it’s easier to have it there. So when I’m pointing directly at the Sensor Bar, that is interpreted as dead-centre (on the vertical plain). It takes a while for your head to readjust but once it does everything is so much easier. I had the same issues with Red Steel. With that hurdle overcome, the pointing device is stunningly accurate. . . way more accurate than an analogue stick. So is the conclusion from this paragraph that the controls are FINE but theres just a longer than unsual learning curve is that right, so no major repercussions on the games score, no more than .1 minused from the final review score?
  19. I actually usually take the time to read extremely long posts and this one is quite short compared to some of the ones i've read. I actually enjoy reading long posts, but I just skipped this one, as I have no remote interest in the game whatsoever. I guess it was a bit pointless in me posting. The only benefit, one additional post to the limited amount of posts ive made in comparison to the bulk of members that are on here.
  20. NONE. Unless they're PS3 exclusives being ported on Wii.
  21. ??? This isn't even a Wii game, LOCK THREAD. or is it?
  22. The console is a prototype only and the FINAL system is unveiled on the 18th November 18th 2006.
  23. The perfect present for someone who owns a Wii but has a fear of insects.
