  1. Who? Yes, we smell good urine!
  2. I agree with the marketing thing... completely. The reasoning does make sense. And... the branding is gender, locality, and country of origin non-specific. they are still doing a lot right... actually.... i think i like it!
  3. they could chanhe the sound of it to 'why' for over here... but really... WHY...is all i can think. They spend so long do so well and then slap themselves around the face. 'our revolution is wee' Nintendo are more their own worst enemy than sega ever were if this is true.
  4. ... but what did the 360 get? elebits sounds cool... but i keep thinking of tokobot in my head... with fuzzy little electricity creatures and not robots.
  5. second sight? Rareware? real quality output there.
  6. ...which is not widescreen is it? that would be a shame... aren't you forgetting the chip will output to another chip which sorts out how the image is sent and displayed? the graphics chip does not draw direct to the screen like that.
  7. EA doesn;t like it because they will have to innovate to succeed on the rev. simple as that. The rev was made as an answer to their production line trash. Anyway... last E3 they pledged to support 360 with 20-odd games. only fight night has been 'OK' out of all of them. is anyone really bothered?
  8. Thats fine... my HDTV probably will not scale a picture very well to that resolution though, so the result will likely not be a huge improvement.... I'd prefer simple 480p support for every game. i also don't think this means developers can just configure the output resolution how they like.
  9. great... spongebob and tony hawks. and tony hawks hasn't even been made by neversoft who usually make it. epoch-making system sellers all round today eh? (caution: post may contain sarcasm)
  10. ....not look so different from the gamecubes thirdparty support from that little lot, is it?
  11. 1: yes, you are... nintendo promised the gamecube would be (and i quote) 'the antithesis of the N64' - and then they went on to do everything the same way in terms of delays and thirdparty support. the revolution looks good. but it needs nintendo to deliver. until they have actually done something meaningful, we can't say whether or not they will be agressive. 2, the Saturn never had a 10th of the brand value the PS3 has. it also was technically redundant. and i question whether sega has the draw it once did. NiGHTS is a good game remembered by a very vocal hardcore few - it does not have the ability to satisfy someone looking for the next GTA on PS3.
  12. the thing about rockstar is fact any how. and the Nights rumour has gotten too strong to ignore now, surely.... sega has always denied it str8 away before.
  13. the saturn had FIVE processors. but it should be a breeze... the games could be recompiled to work on the VC easily enough if sega wanted to do it. ...oh... and that count down clock on the site is sort of ...well, it gets me all excited.
  14. sega has annouced it's line up early for years now.... will it reveal actual revolution titles or just things like 'flight game' like hudson has done??
  15. show my a console that didn't launch with one or two good games and a ton of 3rd party shovelware. xbox 360 hardly managed even that. the fact were are seeing things of the calibre of red steel is heartening... Nintendo recently stated that they intend to avoid the drought of big name games after launch they had with both the cube and the N64. which means that we will get system selling franchise games throughout the launch YEAR. if it takes 3rd parties a while to catch up, then so be it.
  16. if this does get confirmed.... i have decided i will actually piss my pants with joy. yes.
  17. this is true the news will break in the next issue and it will come out on time... it's been common practice for the last few years to get the E3 conference news into magazines in time for the e3 itself - the official xbox magazine has done it for the last few years. expects the same press pics you'll see everywhere else though - and not much meat about what they will say in the conference itself.
  18. oops... sorry! lock this and hide my shame someone please
  19. http://revolution.qj.net/Nintendo-Magazine-to-Review-Revolution-Launch-Line-up-in-October/pg/49/aid/23846 Ta da! can't believe this isn't here yet.... but there it is. November release must now be all but confirmed.
  20. NiGHTS.... how i loved thee. Sega.... now pretty useless = Yuji Naka better making this SINCE he went solo... not as part of sonic team (shadow the hedgehog... *shudder*)
  21. it is not a bad thing at all. after all... just playing the same old tired trash on 360 with sharper graphics doesn't 'feel' next gen. revolution games offer something new. that is a bigger leap than a few more pixels and some new shaders... your point about the PSP/DS proves it.
  22. 1, the official rev colour is now gloss white (a la DS Lite) - if you want a grey one you are going to have to get your marker pens out. 2, the pics above PROVE its the dev controller as it is wired. 3, the dev controllers were confirmed as being grey ages ago 4, the pictures included in the real game informer article had the hue altered to make it hard to tell what colour the controller was.
  23. a really easy way to sum all this nonsense up? . . . . . . BS No company would ever spend the kind of promotional cash nintendo have in trying to prove a concept and get people on board just to throw all the equity they have built up over what is nearly 3 years of hype away.
  24. is this for real? doh, something DOES come out of that 'hole' that 'damn hole' is how the controller communicates with the rev, via a sensor in front of your TV. this also allows the controller to calculate the distance from your TV... Which is HUGLEY important because otherwise a 'swinging' motion or moving the controller in an arc in 3D space would have to be inerpreted by the rev as movement on a 2d axis (eg up down / left right) if it could not tell the distance was changing too. hope that clears things up for you.
  25. they are obviously preproduction / dev models... and nintendo has a hisorty of producing different coloured hardware for different uses... like the brown and green dev and debug gamecubes it really gives you an idea of how small and beautifully formed the FHC is, though. it's just a wonderful device. WANT!!
