  1. Ah yes, apparantly it is. Well you can still use Photo Booth to make podcasts, so that shouldn't be a problem. EDIT: Changing that bloody h that Emasher is missing o-so-much to understand what the hell I'm saying, even though he already knew what I meant without the h.
  2. You can do that with PhotoBooth if you want too, and I think Apple even included a podcast application. Jup, it's called 'Podcast Recording' and it's a utility. And Takeo - it doesn't make that much of a difference. Using 06 or 08 isn't that different for Garageband, though I must say that iMovie 08 really rocked my world there. EDIT: Changing that bloody h that Emasher is missing o-so-much to understand what the hell I'm saying, even though he already knew what I meant without the h.
  3. Sorry Takeo, but what does it matter? Did that help anyone? I doi'nt use it often, but I'm sure it should be in there somewhere. I thi!nk Garaband is more for taping music than writing it - so maybe you can't do it.
  4. Try just using alt + arrow down to make menu's appear. If they appear out of thin air, you might find the apropriate option the view menu. If not, it's screwed up - I didn't even know photoshop could do that on windows.
  5. I do want to ask Lammie: wich on of those eyeTV's has compositre/component input? Or better: wich of those can I use to connect my Wii to the Mac with the avaible Wii-cables (I'de buy a new cable if necesarry)? And to Lammie and Shorty: I am probably getting a seperat screen, just to put an animation of fish on and use as an aquarium. But I'm not buying any screen with composite inputs just yet...
  6. Good idea, but the problem is: I can etter buy a TV then, and I have an iMac - so the extra screen is pretty unnecesarry for now. Thanx, Lammie.
  7. I want to connect my Wii to my mac and play inside a window on my mac (or use it as a monitor). Anybody got any solutions? I heard of iTV, but I'm not sure wich one will give methe required results. Also, if television is included in it (terrestrial or cable), that's fine with me. Ideas?
  8. Lovely game, but I've had more issues with it than most reviews say. Camera isn't perfect at all, making moving around a globe quite annoying. In races, for example, the camera makes it hard to see what's up ahead (like the boo race). Love the game though, and find it more enjoyable thant Mario 64. Although I'm still one of those five people on the planet that just love Sunshine.
  9. Uh? Fanboyism? Now honestly, that was the joke. That's why I started talking about me crying? That was a joke. It was meant like one. In what other conversation would anyone say 'pah!'? But okay, I'll quit it now. But I still don't think it's fair, but I'll just rest my case. Sorry for calling you a liar, Haggis. Didin't mean to insult anyone, was just questioning the fact that you said you said something you never said. And before things get to complicated in my sentences, I'm really saying sorry, dude.
  10. I really don't see... Oh wait, not talking about these things in public. There's a PM coming your way, shorty.
  11. Those quotes didn't staéte the purpose for a higher resolution, now did they? So I naturally assumed that you could live with a lower resolution nonetheless. I still find it pretty useless to switch between resolutions, while upscaling the vector-based text (that doesn't go blurry, because it's all vector!) so you can easely surg the web. Only the games option might be a problem, but hey - you're on a Nintendo forum. So you thought graphics mattered? Pah! That's what I say! Pah! Now I'm going to sit and cry in a corner because my Wii can't output HD.
  12. Don't lie.
  13. I don't get it. Why don't you want to get the most out of your computer? If you really want a smaller resolution, than don't pay for a screen that can do so much more. And every textprocessor, and every web browser - well, any application - let's you enlarge the text or parts of the text, or even the images. Untill I had my glasses, I couldn't read on a 1024x768 display. So I used the zoom included with macosX and when reading wikipedia, I always made the text a tad larger. I don't ssee the problem, but I do see someone who's wasting screen estate. Like building a giant shed where you could have had a villa.
  14. Good move, conzer. Good point.
  15. If sharing libraries is on, anyone who uses the network can be detected. Now you know how many people are using your network, no? And they can see yours if sharing is on. Go check your shared libraries in your preferences.
  16. That again? I'm not doing this all over, but you're really pathetic. Taking snaps with Quicktime is no different from taking snaps with VLC, so it's is not a shitty solution, since you haven't got a leg to stand on. Oh yeah, because it's Apple, it's shitty. Because, well, every review of Leopard recommends leopard over Vista. Oh, and because Apple has the largest share in MP3-players. Or maybe because Apple made the Personal Computer a thing avaible to everyone? Or was it the moment that they introduced their mass-market GUI? No, they suck because they made a printer at home popular and ready for the mass-market. They probably suck because of all that. Man, Apple really sucks if you look at all those reasons... Next time you start bashing just because the solution uses something Apple, make sure you've got some solid ground to stand on, okay? And before we start all that again, this post is just here to clarify something: not spark another apple vs. microsoft thread, cause that'll end in misery. I'm not saying that Apple is super-duper great with this post, I'm saying that you shouldn't say they're shitty without any reason, just like I won't say Microsoft is shitty for the sake of being shitty. They make quite good stuff, too, and I love using Windows once in a while. They make good games. But I digress. This post is here to tell all you simply-nay-sayers, without any grounds to stand on, to stop bashing everyone who says the word 'Apple'. Using Quicktime for screencaps works just as well, so don't say it's a shitty solution.
  17. Oh,come on. He was just saying a solution he knew,I'm growing sick of you people saying it's a crap solution because it' a apple. At least he tried to help, like most apple fans try to do, even if you're on windows...
  18. He would have been right. Five years back, though, when .mov was just a JPEG container. You know, like Nintendo that's running behing just as much...
  19. We need icons like Perrin here in europe too. But yeah,it's true - they're being pretty stubborn on that storage space. I wonder how they'll resolve that once they start offering games once published on discs...
  20. It's probably Apple's fault, since 99,99% of the iPods don't catch flames. So it must be the make of the batteries. Let's file a claim with hundred of people who keep their matches in their pockets next to their suicide detonator! Or a piece of glossy paper, for that matter.
  21. European guidelines say one year (wich is why, in Belgium, that's all we get). if it's a minimum of one year, than a two-year law, probably like with you, is allowed by Europe too. I think one year is the bare minimum (wich puts us 276 days ahead of the Americans, who have to buy into extended warranty).
  22. That's proably your router address. You need to connect through the router first, and that's probably the problem here. Because your PC is connected wirelessly to the router, but the Xbox to the PC. You need to tell the Xbox to seek contact with the router on that specific address, and run it through the PC. That's what goes around when you're running an elabroate setup, I guess. Did I say 'Good Stuff'? Ah well, doesn't matter.
  23. DNS is the request for the DOmain Name Provider to send the IP-address linked to the domain name. SO say that Google.com is located at (and this is by far true, it's just an fake example) 245.678.9.1, then your browser will first connect to the DNS service (Domain Name Server Service) and see what Google.com's actual location is. Keep in mind that web addresses are just masks for a whole-lotta-bouncy-numbers. Compare it to a Wii Friends Code. It's crap, I know. So how would you improve it? By searching users by name. If Nintendo did that, however, the Friend code system would still be there and instead of using the name to connect to eachother, it will still use the, much more unique, Friend Code, but it won't show that to you. So here's all that in short: Searching Google.com -> contacting DNS provider for the .com extension -> DNS Provider compares Google to an IP-address linked to that -> DNS Provider returns the IP-address of the website and let's your browser contact it. Now your browser can jump straight into the website. There is no connection with the DNS provider anymore.
  24. Nope, European waranty issues 92 days of full waranty, like Americans, and one year (including the 92 days) of limited waranty.
  25. My worst piece of hardware is the original iPod Shuffle. Really great things, untill the USB connection died, all of a sudden. And before that I used my brother iPod Shuffle, and it stopped using the left earbud - the connector for stereo was ruined and left ear went numb. Two Shuffles broke, and they were replacements of the originals already who suddenly - out of nowhere - died. Never buying something first generation again. Oh damn, I'm gettting an iPod Touch.
