Is that even possible? And if that were true, it wouldn't do that with only internet windows. It would do it with every rendered item, because the BIOS has nothing to do with the graphical identification of a window, it just sees every element as an element. If you see what I mean? It's like the BIOS can only see 2D while the OS can see 3D, making the BIOS inable to do anything in 3D (or: the BIOS only sees code, and the OS sees this as graphics). I'm complicating the matter and not helping. But surely, bringing it back would be a good choice. let it be repared by someone who knows what the hell is wrong.
-
So... did you perhaps bring it back to your computer store? Maybe they can resolve the problem? And have you tried a clean install of Windows? With deletion of all your files? Since a non-clean install will, off course, not work.
-
That's mac and it's disorienting me. Is that that screensaver? Or did that actually happen on this mac? Man that's looks disturbing. Not because it's mac, but the way these windows function - it disturbs my mind.
-
It's not a hardware problem (hardware doesn't do something that vvisual, usual it just stops working once it breaks).
-
Apparantly it's still the same crappy looking site, minus the forums. God when does Nintendo Europe finally get their act together a design a better, more streamlined site that gives the idea that Nintendo is a company, rather than just a gamesite. At least the Americans got that right - that site looks the goods.
-
I hope the site is down for a revision. It looked like hell, and it looked like that for way to long. Maybe they can get the american designers on it, they do a decent job.

True, but it's entirely possible to install MacOS X on another system, and fairly easely, or so I've heard. But for Apple, profits are computers, the attractive point for their computers is it's OS. Still, I enjoy Apple's OS not having any verification on it at all. Simple, simple.

iTunes saves your artwork in a proprietary format in the folder 'ALbum Artwork' in your main iTunes folder. But as far as I'm aware, they are inreadable once they're stored there and only iTunes can acces it. You can acces it, too, but navigating folders named only by numbers and finding files that have the extension .itc, it's quit pointless in my opinion. But everything iTunes is stored right there in the iTunes folder in your Music.
-
Now that shouldn't be there, actually. It should just work. Don't know what's wrong witgh it (probably the iTunes syncing process that makes mistakes). I have no ideas, but I think that that really shouldn't be that way.

So my point is true, because I said if you connected a HD and added the files to your library it won't find them if you disconnect the Hard Drive. If you iTunes, however, copies the files to your local hard disk, you don't need the HD plugged in. Because he's not using the files on a Hard Disk. But okay. I was, however, referring to the fact that even if it's a disc full of music, iTunes won't add it like a device (wich would be nice if Apple could make that happen). You need to add the files manually from your Hard Disk and they'll be in your library (even if it doesn't copy them over to your local disk, making the files unfindable for iTunes once your HD is gone).
-
Nope, iTunes only automatically updates your library if you manually add or ddelete files. iTunes will not detect any other hardware than iPods and CD's and therefore does not search for songs on an external HD. However, if another iTunes library on another computer shares over a Wi-Fi network, you can listen (and only listen) to those songs, too. If you, however, want to listen to music on a not-always connected hard drive, you will have to import them to iTunes. These songs will stop working once you disconnect, and will not be deleted once they can't be found. They will have a nice exclamation mark next to it, though. iTunes is not Windows Media Player in that sense. It does not detect nor play from devices other than iPods, Wi-Fi connections and CD's. However, if you connect someone else's iPod to iTunes, you will be able to just play music from it. If you do want to get those files in your lubrary, Windows' hidden folders will guide you the way to songs on the iPod, wich you can copy to hard disk. No proitected AAC, though.

Well, iTunes won't delete it. It will only make files and folders, but not erase without asking you. That'll be a handjob, boy. I'm not sure what your cover flow problem is, but does the problem occur when you arrange the cover flow by album? Because if the same album has multiple artists you could just be seeing them in artist mode, wich means the album is split across your iTunes. And one more thing: individual files (like files you downloaded) that don't have an album set won't be combined into the same artist. So if you have four songs of say, EELS, and they all have nothing in their album information, he will show them sepratly. Just give all the songs one unifief album name (like 'Eels songs' or 'Just an album'). This will make them combine into one image instead of seperate images for each track.

Even I learned something today. And school hasn't started yet!

(EDIT: Tip of the day; Kinks in your iTunes library (like typos in album or artist) will be easier to see if you change the appearnce from your Library from List or Coverflow to 'List with images' (the center button of the appearences, next to your search bar). Try the following to know and identify the problem: make iTunes show your library in 'grouped by illustration' mode (next to the list and coverflow button, it's in the middle, just left of your search bar). Now it's time to start grouping. If I were you, i'de arrange your tracks per artist and then rename all the tracks from the same artist into a new artist. This will manage all your files from the same artist. Okay, that sounds complicated. Try again. Okay, retry. Do the same mode and arrangement. Now select all your tracks from, say, MIKA (god I hate that guy). Select them all (holding down ctrl will do this one by one, holding down shift will select all the tracks between teh first one you selected and the last). and rename the Artst MIKA. This will make sure that the artists named MiKA, Mika, mIKA and MKIA (you know, typos), will all be arranged in the same folder by iTunes and will give the artist the same name in your iTunes. If you do this with all your tracks (artists, actually), iTunes should be arranged and all the typos in the anme will be taken out. Now if you manually entered album info, do it with albums too. After that I started giving all tracks from one album the same image. This makes all the tracks with the same image come together next to one (instead of having all your tracks seperatly, all with one empty image). Now, here's just a sideways tip. If you downloaded just a few tracks of one artist, then give all those tracks the same album-name. You can invent one if you want to, but thismakes it easier to combine all your tracks in one album, making the 'List with cover image' appearing more usefull. I prefer this method. Did all that make any sense to you? It sounded complicated while typing (I ain't that great at explaining things perfectly in english), but if you have questions, just post it here. i'de be glad to explain it.

It all depends on what iPod you're getting. A touch, or a normal one. Touch is a little larger.

When you tell ITunes to keep track off your files (roughly translated from my dutch version it would be the option called 'Keep folder 'iTunes Music' up to date' in your overal advanced settings) it will move the files in folders itself. It will make a folder for each artist and in it a folder for each album. Every track will be renamed with it's track number on the disc, and it's title. So it's easier to manage your music that way. Just import it in iTunes, and check if the file was moved to a new folder (if it's not, the option is probably not on) in the main folder 'iTunes Music'. If that's so, you can delete your old files, once you've imported them. Check with one MP3 first would be my advice before deleting. Import a single MP3 into iTunes, check if it's in a new folder and then delete the old one. Check if the song still works in iTunes, and if it does - bingo! Import all your music into iTunes and delete your old files. All your music should be moved now and you can just enjoy iy sitting in your iTunes library and moving it to iPods. I find it incredibly easy to find the files I need when i need them thanks to iTunes. It's a little different from Windows Media Player, but I find iTunes much easier to acces and to use. Simply because it's interface is less cluttered with it's four options: Library, Store, Devices and Playlist instead of Windows' Now Playing, Library, Rip and Burn. WMP is more focused on using CD's, whereas iTunes really focuses you on the music (and is just as easy to rip from CD's and burn them using playlists. The CD is just a device, so you can rip from there). And that's not because I'm mac or I hate Windows or something (wich I don't). I just like iTunes a lot for this kind of thing.
-
I would advise you to keep it on. Then import your music, and delete the old folders. He'll copy all your music to My Documents> My Music> iTunes> iTunes Music Library. it will put all the songs in folders per artist, making them easy to find would you ever want to find them again. If you turn it off and import your music, he'll just link the library to the folders and files from the original location, and will not copy or arrange them on your computer. I don't really see your problem, though. If you just add to the library (not IMPORT your music, but add them to the library) they'll be in there, linked to either the file location iTunes made of it, or just the original location. Really simple as hell. Did that help you just a little?

Is it that easy to got a license from old Micry? Ah well. Don't want to start that again, but macOS X needs to activation. It doesn't even have a license key. And in some ways, that makes perfect business sense. The more OS-es you get out there, the more software you can sell for it. It's as if the OS is the teaser for the software you can get. But okay, I was just mentiioning it. Didn't want to get you all wound up, now.
-
Didn't know that. Still a hurdle I guess...
-
So it's more, like, a driver? Ah heck, we had this discussion before.
-
No, actually, that's what I thought at first. But in this modern age, the difference is not that simple. We had this discussion a while ago in the Wii Channels thread, and I asked my nephew later. He couldn't pinpoint an exact difference either, and he studied computer related stuff. The difference used to be that simple, but it's not anymore.
-
Now honestly, it's not the same, but I tried asking someone who studied IT, and he couldn't explain the difference either. it's very complex to tell the difference, actually. So you can use both terms a little more loosely than you are are implying .

Okay, but if it really was a firmware upgrade problem, I would have it right now, too. Takeo would have it. O-so-many users would have it. But here's it's only you, and those two on the Apple forums. So I wonder if something went wrong in your firmware update? Because Apple is the last on who would - even accidentally - disable Google. Google is in the end an internet 'application', and for it to load, you need to send a request to google and google sends back. And if you browser loads other pages, it sure should load google. But yeah, Google is kind-of slow with me sometimes. But that isn't a significant problem - like the one you're talking about... Maybe you should mal steve at [email protected]

Isn't that the N-standard? I thought Wifi came in four flavors: A, B, G and N. Could be my bad, though. But I'm pretty sure, actually.
-
Like Emasher says, Google is an internet application. So if there was a problem, it isn't the OS. Because the OS doesn't know what website you're viewing. Has your brother checked Firefox or Camino to test if google stopped working there? it could be because of the beta of Safari, but I doubt. An airport (express or extreme) will work wirelessly with any device that wants to connect wirelessly. They're easy to use and control (I have one here and it's pretty good). it isn't accesable as easy to the usual computer hacker (my nephew didn't like it becausse he couldn't just check the info of the router by typing it in explorer). But it's fine and it'll work. It's s standard, you know. It's uses Wifi and any supporting device will be able to connect. And the Wired LAN is also a standard ethernet, so hat shouldn't be a problem either. The only downside is that it makes your windows box look completely ugly .
