Yeah I think we'll be fine. Some people, for whatever reason, seem to have assumed this is basically Destiny but with a universe-sized playground.

Yeah it's odd. He seemed to really love it to begin with and then rushed through it. To be fair I'd probably go off something I played for 30 hours straight. That amount of time playing something without a break could certainly put you off for a bit. My only expectation, or want, was to be able to take off from a planet, see a star in the sky and go there. And I can do that. Anything else is just gravy!

Sean has said they're already working on the first update. And they've said they'll continue to add free updates, all the while listening to community feedback. Don't think they're gonna jump ship on the game for quite a while. And as @drahkon said this is a game I've been waiting for since I was a kid. An almost limitless universe to explore. Just over 9 days! Don't know how well it will review, but I'll make a few spoiler-free posts about what I think.

That's pretty cool. Could work well as a TV show. I do love time travel as a narrative.

That's good news. A lot of people were on the fence - don't think a lot of people can take "mystery" these days. Hopefully reviews will be good, I can imagine them being fairly split, with people who "get" it and people who don't. That is a lot of money to spend to upset Sean Murray. Glad he stopped though. EDIT: Saw this in the Gaf "non-spoiler" thread: The general consensus from the 26 minute video that guy uploaded is that the game looks great fun and oozes creativity. Yeah I feel for the guy. First he gets death threats over a six week delay, all the while Sky are trying to sue the company, then there was the flooding of their building and now this. It's not been an easy ride for them. But yeah I agree about going blackout. Whilst all the planets people explore may be unique, the extra game mechanics they haven't unveiled yet would be great to experience and find out first hand.

All I read before I left was that the opening was "amazing" and it runs smoothly at 60fps. (The guy also paid $1250 for his copy) The next 11 days are going to go so slowly, knowing that other people are playing it.

I'm very excited for VR.

DriveClub VR sounds great. A VR F Zero would be even better, even with the vomit.

The game is out in the world and there are some impressions already on GAF: Someone also started streaming the game, but got banned shortly afterwards. The trailer did look awful. I remember seeing Simon Pegg write something along the lines of, "Please don't judge it by this trailer, it's actually really good!"

Didn't beat First Contact for me but certainly beat the other reboots and most other Trek films. (Much prefer TV Trek.)

Also Sky were trying to sue them, which could have been a factor in the delay: The game has already gotten to stores and some people have a copy. I won't be posting any spoilers here though, as hopefully I won't bump into any. Bet those who have it early are really going to make a race for the centre.

I must have caught about 40 Drowzees today. They're everywhere round here. We need a government-funded cull.

That's such cruel. Where are you going on holiday? When the originally announced June 21st as the release I was gutted as I was going on holiday then. Sorta glad they delayed it then as my holiday would have been tainted with me wanting to go home already!

Rebel Galaxy is good, got that a fair few months ago. But with No Man's Sky out the same month, it kinda makes it pointless. (I mean not pointless as it will be free and NMS won't be, but the latter does so much more - I basically bought RG as a stop-gap.) Only Tricky Towers for me this month, which I have no clue about. But I don't expect I'll be playing anything but NMS for quite a while anyways.

Well I've never personally had an issue with an AC hud. Those bigger boxes only tend to appear when receiving a mission if memory serves, though I haven't played that particular AC. And you can always turn things off if you don't need help with button assignments, etc. If these leaks turn out to be true then I'm not sold yet. Handhelds aren't really my thing anyway - even one that can plug into a TV. I guess I'll have to wait for any software announcements.

They don't seem that different to me. Sure the map's a bit big but there's not much difference other than that.

Next 14 days are gonna pass even slower than the last week. On the one hand it's perfect being off uni until October as I'll have loads of time to play the game but having not much planned until NMS makes it quite a difficult wait indeed! I'm glad the trailers have shown little. They've introduced a few little tidbits but kept a lot of mystery so we can explore ourselves, which is exactly what they wanted all along.

My town in inundated with Drowsee. Sitting in the pub today it's all that appeared! Luckily the pub is a PokeStop and there's always a lure on it. They're even hosting a Pokemon Go get-together on Wednesday As long as they keep the updates coming, and don't wait too long then people will stay interested.

Always nice when you get your wish! Will definitely pick this up. And I feel I kinda have to as I basically got everything I asked for.

I'd prefer this as well. Would then allow for cameos of characters we already love. Hopefully for season two they'll go to that era.
