Some pictures from my town (I'm still on the first one, I'm not playing with a bright bunch.)
-
It's free to play. There are micro transactions. But I remember not paying before and not stressing over missing out. And digital only I'd wager.
-
Not too bad actually. Takes a bit of getting used to do but doesn't feel bad at all.

I remember this game being a bit rough around the edges on PC a few years ago. Seems as though it hasn't changed haha. Ah well, it's not too bad and Star Trek does turn 50 today. It seems a fitting game to play today!

Just been looking up 4K TV's on Amazon. They are a lot cheaper than I'd expected. My 42" TV is over four years old, still works great.. but I have wanted a larger screen for quite a while!
-
I actually liked that both this and NMS don't explain much of what you do or how you do it. I like having to actually use my brain and figure stuff out. About to go back to my town, though I've been away for 9 hours, who knows what's happened to it!

No surprises there really. The Pro is a lot cheaper than I'd imagined. Can't afford one anyway. First it's PSVR next month and if I do have any money in the near future it'd be on a new TV, then I might look into the Pro but I reckon my PS4 will see me through to a PS5.

I got the license in the end. I'm currently the only person in my town though. Pretty difficult to build a city on your own. Might have to move!

I always think of it as a game in itself, finding which thread the argument has moved to! Personally I couldn't give a toss about being "shafted" by the Neo. My PS4 works great, I don't have a 4K TV and am able to play all the games on what I've got.

Didn't realise it was out today! My Internet is so slow though, it'll take a day to download. Back to The Tomorrow Children/NMS I go!
-
Cheers for those! Shall definitely put them into practise when it's back up and running! I'm getting withdrawal already and I only played for 2 hours. I can't figure out where to get the vehicle license from. Is it the black market? As it's not appearing. Unless I need to be a certain level?

Whoa, very cool! I'd miss her voice not being the ships voice.

The servers are down whilst they apparently sort out some issue. I have little to no idea what I'm actually doing. Done a bit of building and some mineral gathering. Enjoying it so far. My house is different from everyone else's. Probably because I got my blueprint or whatever in my first town but then moved before I built it. It's taller than everyone elses so makes me look more important.

Woo! Used to love this but then stopped PC gaming, so this is good news for me.
-
Glad we get a demo disc out of the box though I see myself wanting almost all of the games anyway, especially the sci fi ones. Taking us to other worlds is where VR will truly shine, imo.

Some planets you can dig really deep as well.

Crashed ships are indeed either one slot more or one less.

From Sean and the gang: I'll probably end up sending a few suggestions. It's hard to know exactly what to suggest when I'm not entirely sure what can be changed or added, considering the way the game is built/generated. I'm guessing they may be able to update any planet/system not yet discovered but old ones may stay the same? I think my main suggestions would be: - ringed planets - proper desert planets - fewer buildings on planets - make some planets devoid of any buildings except ruins - make ruins more variable - increase creature variety - more stuff to do in space - instead of having space littered with asteroids, have belts. (though there should be one or two asteroids every so often, incase one runs out of fuel) - more zoom functions in the galactic map. Fully zoomed out so you can see the whole galaxy, and where your friends are. And a star system zoom, so you can see where planets are in relation to the star. Anyone got anything else?

It's not completely HUD-less but as close as we can get on PS4 at the moment. Basically you just have to make sure your shields are full, and your thermal/radiation/toxic protection is also full. Then your HUD will fade away until you either need to refill something or press left on the d-pad. Also helps if you don't have a full bag, as if you do there'll be a "full inventory" icon on the bottom right. With regards to animals they seem to be organised: LAND AIR SEA So you can mostly work out which one(s) you're missing. Some also only appear at certain times of day. I had a bird that only seemed to appear at dawn. The best way to find them all is really just to find a planet you don't mind exploring for a few hours, and just find them as you go!

Yeah it seems as though you my just have been unlucky. Although, just so you know I've warped over 200 times. Granted I didn't always set foot on a planet. Here's some pictures on an irradiated, boiling planet that I was on for ages. So many photo opportunities:

Not really. I saw the latest E3 trailer and then refrained from watching anything more. I'm not sure whether it's to keep the final game a surprise or whether I'm just not that bothered. After playing games like The Witcher 3, with a huge open world and intricate story, I'm just not sure whether the new Zelda can best it. Which is something I never thought I'd say. I'll definitely get the WiiU version, cos: Zelda. But I've got no expectations and won't be pre-ordering unless I've got a lot of superfluous funds.

The worst thing for me regarding NX is that I don't really care. Don't get me wrong. I'm mildly curious, but that's only because I'm here. I grew up with Nintendo. I'm 30 and have had a Nintendo console since I was 4. But I'm just so ambivalent these days, which some say is worse that hating/loving. I'm not a handheld gamer. I like the big screen. So that doesn't help. And yeah, there are rumours it can be streamed to the big screen but until I know more I would consider myself NX-curious, and nothing more. Which unsettles me slightly.

I've seen the first two. Like with the real universe, you have to explore to find the really good stuff. I understand not everyone has the time nor the will. But if they gave everything to you on your 10th planet, there'd be no reason to keep exploring. I would love giant graboids though - of which I've seen some aquatic versions, though nothing to the degree of that early trailer. But for me, as a sci-fi fanatic, every planet or moon is a possibility. And as I said, and reiterate, I'm still seeing new stuff.

I won't be getting bored anytime soon

I think it's clear to anyone with eyes that this wasn't your fault. We all know who the issues lie with.
