I read somewhere that the new show is set between TOS and TNG.
-
Yeah that's a demo build at a Japanese event. They won't be playing the final build.

Just came back from the new Trek film. It's definitely the best one so far; it actually felt like Star Trek.
-
At least we know it's finally on its way.
-
Not sure. Reviewer maybe.
-
It's be great it was a more adult comedy. Aimed at the people who grew up with Pokemon, rather than the kids of today.
-
I really enjoyed it. Even with the framerate issues, which I think have been patched out. If you like, pretty linear stories, which can make you emote then yeah do it.

A quote from GAF, which is originally a quote from reddit:

Always seems to job out about 8PM for me. Still hasn't come back on this evening. Caught a lot though. The cathedral grounds in town are always full of people sitting on the grass catching Pokemon, and twirling those PokeStops. 'tis good fun!

There's a PokeStop over the road from me which is just too far away to get from inside the house. It's a Mormon church as well so I don't like to hang outside it much or they'll come out and try and convert me. (No word of a lie different ones bump into me almost every other day down my road asking me ridiculous questions)

She should have grabbed one on Prime Day for 220. Unfortunately, she didn't know she wanted one then.

If anyone sees any cheap (new) PS4's about anywhere could you let me know. Got a friend interested in buying one. Lowest I've found one for so far is £229 from simplygames.com - not sure I'll find a cheaper one for a while but if anyone does...!

This is a year-old interview but will be interesting to those newly introduced to the game and those who were interested but may have forgotten things that will be in the game. Even thought it's a year old I should stress that Sean and the team and only ever publicised and promised game elements or mechanics that will end up in the final version. They withheld the inclusion of NPC's for ages because they didn't want to over-promise, but they're there. http://uk.ign.com/articles/2015/07/24/ask-sean-murray-anything-about-no-mans-sky?page=1 I do love the idea of a "sizeable" periodic table. Where different elements are used for crafting and like when Minecraft was first released, they won't tell you what element combinations necessarily make.

Sean said they want to support the game with free updates for the next few years.

Your discoveries, if you choose to upload them, will be logged and seen by others. Personally I think the vastness of the game does work to its advantage. As a space buff, who is really into cosmology, astronomy, all of it, this is this is just awe-inspiring. Being that big makes it feel more real, more like actual space. Vast, and lonely. If you're a sci-fi fan, of all of its genres, this really is like a dream come true. And journalists who had hands on experience with the game in May were, not that convinced when going in, but were more than convinced after playing it.

Gives you a sense of the sort of planet size we could be dealing with. Not sure how different the planets are in size yet.

Pretty accurate. Am loving the stories with regards to autistic children and this game bringing them out into the real world; talking and making eye contact with strangers. No matter how long the hype or excitement stays from the masses, it's always hard to gauge these things, I expect people to look into using apps like this in the future in a medical capacity.

Definiely getting one of these. They should've announced this at e3.

Yeah well that's all well and good but even if the game was smaller, the rest of the game won't change, so why not make it as big as possible? 1 quintillion, 18 quintillion, doesn't really matter. It's big, very big. Personally I love the idea of adventuring through an almost infinite universe. Knowing it's that big creates a bigger sense of awe. I am the lone explorer. I will be discovering things no one else will ever see. I don't even understand that part. ^
-
Well no, but even if it was half the size or even 99% smaller the game itself wouldn't be different. So don't see how making it smaller would help either? They're creating a sense of scale to help realise how small we are, how big the universe is and how much adventure there is out there. The fact it's so big we can never see it all is just as awe-inspiring as the real universe. But maybe you can't see that?
-
Here's a video that explains it:
-
The universe is on the disc, or download. It's all maths. The download size is only around 6gb-10gb and that's mostly music. Everyone exists in the same universe. It's just so vast people will probably never meet, though Sean has said you could. The universe is the same for everyone, due to maths and algorithms, but only generates when a player is nearby. New trailer (One of four coming before release):
-
Stole this nice little bit of maths stolen from Gaf: A lot of people don't seem to be able to grasp just how big this game is. And I caved and watched the last IGN First videos, the ones from April, and the game looks a lot deeper than I thought. The crafting system looks good fun.

I remember the original Pokemon, and its merchandise being banned from school. Pokemon Go is gonna be banned in the workplace. I'll give this a try when it's out in the UK but I won't want Sun/Moon
