Richard Dean Anderson. Too bad he gets written out of the upcoming season. Atlantis is bloody good also.

It's not the images, it's the filthy ho of a server that's making everything painfully slow.

Forums change. It happens everywhere. People move on, their priorities change, it's inevitable. The forums might not be what they used to be to some people, but hopefully you old timers still hang about.

Ironically enough, didn't Christmas originate from a Pagan Winter festival or something like that?
-
The point is that there's no good reason to stop calling them Christmas lights. Sure we could call them something else....but why the heck should we. You're gonna have whingers no matter what you call them. While we're at it, lets re-name everything else - cars, cotton wool, toothpicks, colonoscopies....just incase they might be interpreted the wrong way. What ever happened to common sense?

It's gonna be hard to top Lost in Translation. Any bets on Air doing some music for this movie?

Oh they're out there. They're busy cutting their hair short, buying thick black rimmed specs, campaigning for womens rights like its the early 90's. Primarily I think they do it becuase it's much easier to whinge and whine and stand around waving placards and outside fishmarkets to force the change of "Fisherman" to "Fisher" other than actually do something constructive - like stop driving cars everywhere, or buying Coca Cola, or buying brand new clothes made in Indonesia for about .000002% of the retail price....et al. That's the point. It's tradition, it's ingrained into society and culture. If you try to supress the religious bits all you'll end up with in 50 years time is a strange holiday where everyone goes and spends a rediculous amount of money on things they don't need without even realising or knowing about it's religious or historical or cultural significance. Oh hang on.......it's already like that.

The image you have is probably set to a low resolution (maybe 72 dots per inch) and default print resolution is 300dots per inch. Therefore the image takes up a hell of alot less pixel area on a 300dpi canvas than on one set at 72dpi. Either scale it up and be prepared for some ugly artifacts, or redraw it at 300dpi.

Al Swearengen is my hero. You be leaving him alone!

What a load of bollocks. How can you force people to use Xmas instead of Christmas? It's eroding culture. It'd be like telling Kalahari tribespeople (not tribesmen) to cover up their boobs and wangs so tourists don't get offended. Or getting those of the Hindu faith to not wear a Bindi so little kids don't stare at them. It's there for a bloody reason. Surely we're intellligent enough to understand some people are DIFFERENT and that we seem just as weird and kooky to them. Get the hell over it. There's political correctness, and then there is total crap. Blackboards being called chalkboards? Bugger off.......if 'black people' are offended they can change their name. White people dont like the name 'whiteboard'? - call yourself 'person of a colour somewhere between beige and olive' instead of making the rest of humanity change their dictionaries. Seriously people, there's more pressing issues, ie: todays crossword in the daily rag. Paki is used as a generalisation. Aussie is like calling an American a 'Yankee'. It doesn't carry the kind of connotation that 'Paki' does. Although it's probably less offensive than other racial tags (wog, bubble, chink, etc). If you got someone who studies linguistics in here they'd probably be able to tell you how the above terms are harsher and more likely to be used in a derogatory manner as opposed to 'Aussie', 'Yankee' etc....
