AshMat Posted November 4, 2006 Posted November 4, 2006 Nobody talks on Cube-Europe, N-Europe, or revo-europe, they're all basically graveyards
Caris Posted November 4, 2006 Posted November 4, 2006 why not change it to a chat thread, much easyer.
The3rdChildren Posted November 4, 2006 Posted November 4, 2006 Guy isn't as funny as he used to be. Personal reasons.
dabookerman Posted November 4, 2006 Posted November 4, 2006 Guy isn't as funny as he used to be. He isnt funny Here anymore Hes pretty much halarious on AUDIOFUSION
Colin Posted November 4, 2006 Posted November 4, 2006 why not change it to a chat thread, much easyer. Someone could call it dogsdick, but the posting won't change at all in there. Some stuff in that thread could easily warrant discussions, even if alot of the stuff is pointless. I think it's def had an influence on the threads in gen-chat.
AshMat Posted November 4, 2006 Posted November 4, 2006 WEll, i'm on all 3 irc channels now, just in hope. My mIRC trial has almost finished, im gonna need a serial.. *hint*
Twozzok Posted November 4, 2006 Posted November 4, 2006 Nobody talks on Cube-Europe, N-Europe, or revo-europe, they're all basically graveyards What do you mean no-one talks on cube-europe... the others no-one talks in because it'd just be the same people they'd be talking to... But in #cube-europe there's generally at least a couple of people in there... Admitedly in the last week it's been a bit quiet, but then it is nearing christmas.. and everyones on dodgy sleep cycles. Edit: for horrendous spelling.
Tellyn Posted November 4, 2006 Posted November 4, 2006 Hmm I can't say too much about previous forums. I joined Cube-Europe last summer before the change after reading the news section for ages, then got put off by someone called Laguna or something who royally assaulted me in every post I made. But I like this forum, 99% of people are really friendly and it's generally a nice place. I'm on about the IRC channel... none of the people that used it coukld be boithered to move to #revo-europe the '#' means it's a channel name. and Retro-Lover... mIRC doesn't actually need a serial number.
Shorty Posted November 4, 2006 Posted November 4, 2006 Cube-Europe forums got deleted. They're talking about the irc room, which I completely forgot about in my tangent at the beginning of the thread. That used to be cool too.

CoolFunkMan Posted November 5, 2006 Posted November 5, 2006 I agree, it has gone downhill a tad. The C-E days were deffo the golden age for this community. I mean, it's not terrible atm, but I certainly have noticed the difference. I still love it here, even if it's a lil' different - this is the best forum I use. There's always a good topic, or something interesting to look at. I find a lot of you really helpful and friendly too. I admit, the humor isn't what it used to be, but there's still echoes of it here and there.
Shino Posted November 5, 2006 Posted November 5, 2006 I'm curious, someone please define "those C-E days".
Twozzok Posted November 5, 2006 Posted November 5, 2006 I'm gonna go ahead and say the Bloodmonkeys and the Uber Leets.
The3rdChildren Posted November 5, 2006 Posted November 5, 2006 I'm gonna go ahead and say the Bloodmonkeys and the Uber Leets. About 10 or so people defined Cube-Europe. It really was a remarkable time.
Mr. Bananagrabber Posted November 5, 2006 Posted November 5, 2006 The forum is so much better than it was in the CE days. SO much more welcoming, most of the 'elite' have left (thank Christ, most of them did nothing but put new members off. There should be a difference between elites and elitism) and the mods are less like the Chilean military police.
Max Posted November 5, 2006 Posted November 5, 2006 do you know whats so great about these forums? im still here and always will be. from the ziek ---> apple ---> rockead----> uncle buckmen and all. its been good, soon we all mature and let the young ones take over slowly as we pass the tourch to the next generatin
mcj metroid Posted November 5, 2006 Posted November 5, 2006 I'm curious, someone please define "those C-E days". the cube europe days.before the forum changed to revo
Shino Posted November 5, 2006 Posted November 5, 2006 the cube europe days.before the forum changed to revo I understand that, I just want to know what made them special.
The3rdChildren Posted November 5, 2006 Posted November 5, 2006 I understand that, I just want to know what made them special. Might I suggest a pair of these: If you can't find any, some of the more nostalgic members will probably lend you theirs.
Supergrunch Posted November 5, 2006 Posted November 5, 2006 I like this place now. I've been here ages, through all "the CE days" etc., and I admit that was good, and afterwards the forums went through a bad patch, but now, I like them... and the Meaningless post thread...
Flaight Posted November 5, 2006 Posted November 5, 2006 Personally, I feel that fanboism here blew up (if only a tad) during CE days to get to where we are now. In fact I came across relatively very fanboy-ish in those days. Overall I like them all. I like it here as it is. Times change and things are meant to change. On comments about xbox forums. I do agree they are much more... how would I put it, childish and short-tempered. Or to put it deplomatically, vulgar and intellectually challenged. I've come across situations where a little bit of disagreement or constructive criticism leading to "**** you idiot go suck your ****ing mother's *******". And I'm like, blimey, sorry I'm unarmed so don't shoot me. That surprises me. I would've thought Nintendo community would have greater extremes due to big splits in demography. But not so. I guess it may mean the teen-centricism is more pronounced in 360 community. Or do they have greater representation of US supporters? If so, it might be to do with a manifestation of patriotism in console-form at international level. Perhaps we're better off here just because it's more eurocentric. Many forums all over the place may have declined somewhat (perceptively), but that may be due to the success of the forum; as more people join, less family-like it becomes. Whatever's the case, it's a fascinating subject.
Charlie Posted November 5, 2006 Posted November 5, 2006 Wow, flaight returns. 850 pages after his original thread.. he deserves a custom yser titles for this... thank god for the internets/
Flaight Posted November 5, 2006 Posted November 5, 2006 Lol Moria. Actually, I guess you people deserve an apology from me if the Meaningless thread has caused problems. From my point of view, often a forum was cluttered with people posting fairly random comments, which may be interesting for some but not for all. Originally it came from my sentiments that among us we could use some time to socialize talking about complete bullcrap, just like in real life; often greater friendship and understanding among us come out of them. My intention was to unite all that under one thread to cut out the persistent scrolling in the main page of the forum, which often had more meaningful threads that deserved attention - but they would often scroll down quickly and disappear to the next page when "meaningless posts" are posted. I thought it was reasonable given that it was posted in "General Chit Chat" section; at the end of the day, this site is about gaming and Nintendo. So naturally you would've thought that the direction of the site wouldn't be influenced by such a trivial, generalized thread. If enough of you feel that I have brought harm here, I wouldn't mind to see that Meaningless thread locked or frozen. I've always liked this community and I meant no harm.
