Seeing as the original Xbox has HL2, and Wii is more powerful than the Xbox, dontcha think HL2 on Wii would be awesome? I've got the game on PC, and it is sweet. Maybe if there's enough demand and some sort of campaign, maybe Valve would take notice?

OK OK, internet campaigns never work, but we can dream can't we? :santa:

it would be good to have the HL2 game engine on wii as there are a lot of sweet games using it. The new Team fortress looks awesome... and the graphic style looks almost like a nintendo game!

In reality, i think the closeness of the xbox to a pc surely helped companies like valve make the leap to consoles

The Xbox really struggled to put Half Life 2 out.. and it required a lot of work following many delays. And that's on a system which is practically a PC.

There was loads of slowdown.. I doubt it will end up on the Wii personally.

The xbox version sold poorly. It's like that Counter Strike DS rumour.. rofl that was hilarious.

ohh no.. here are som interesting facts about gordon Freeman:

Jumps like an Infant. The whole body jumps upwards, but his feet barely leaves the ground

Screams like a girl

Wears a diaper

Eats Boogers... prefably other peoples... (gordon freeman crouched over a dead mutant body looking for boogers)

Soldier: "Gordon???? WHat are you doing??"

Still lives with his mother

The tune for his mobile phone is Brother Louie with Modern Talking (it usually goes off when they are trying to sneak up on some enemies)

THrows like a girl

Sits down when peeing

His favorite film, is the Blue Lagoone

When the other soldiers for fun hides gay porn in his satchel he pretends getting angry

It's not that easy to convert HL2 to Wii. The xbox SDK is based on DirectX, and HL2 is also based on DirectX, so the conversion is easy, while Wii is based on OpenGL (or something like it) which makes the conversion a huge effort. Prabably too big.

Half-Life 2 On 'GameCube 2'

Posted by Ashley - Sep 5th 2003 20:08

Valve are to release the highly anticipated Half-Life 2 on all consoles.

While Nintendo and Sony have yet to release information about their next consoles Valve have confirmed they are working on Half-Life 2 for them.

The game is set to launch on the PC later this year and the Xbox soon after. Valve have now stated that they plan to launch Half-Life 2 on the PS3 and 'GameCube 2'.

Valve have also announced that they will release a number of special edition packs for the game. There will be a standard single-player version, a version with mutli-player options and a collector's edition with t-shirts, pens and other Half-Life 2 items.

News: Half Life 2 On N5

Posted by Gizmo - Sep 2nd 2003 01:14

Will this most anticipated title make it to a Nintendo system afterall?

Speaking recently with Vossey.com, Doug Lombardi, marketing director of Valve, let slip that Half Life 2 will be available to Nintendo gamers in the future.

Vossey.com : Will Half-Life 2 be released on other platforms?

DL : Yes, notably on Xbox. The game will be available on Xbox but not until 2004. The partnership with Microsoft isn’t exclusive and we will also see this game on the next consoles by Sony and Nintendo.

So there you have it, not a GameCube game but looking like an early title for Nintendo's next system, currently known as N5. Dare we suggest it may even be a possible launch game for the system? The dates point to it being a real possibility, and it would certainly be a great piece of first day software.

Hahah, yeah. Keep dreaming.

If you ever want to play HL2 to buy a PC, PS3 or XBOX360.

HL2 EP2 is going to require more power than previous titles in the HL2 storyline. If HL2 does come out on Wii, it'll probably look worse than the XBOX version...

If counterstrike Wii happened, we would have to write down 20+ peoples friend codes. No thanks

And Half Life 2 was a landmark in physics, Graphics, Presentation

The Wii is to weak to replicate the physics and graphics.

Maybe Half life 1 tho, the Wii might just be able to power that

If it looks crap is due to crappy porting.

You're being ironic right?

Actually, no you wouldn't need to write down Friend codes, that Nintendo's strategy for their games, 3rd parties can have their own systems and I doubt Wii isn't capable of HL2, I mean XBOX did it and Havok is used with Wii, so I see no big problem there.

wernt valve really interested in wii though?
Yeah, they are certainly considering the Wii;

For us, the Xbox 360 and the PS3 are challenges for designing a system so that it is as simple as possible for publishing simultaneously on all three platforms. The Wii is more of a challenge because of its input - that's something that we're going to have to work harder to understand. It's easier to think of the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3 as things that live within the flexibility you already have to think of on the PC side. And the Wii is the thing that is both furthest outside and most exciting, because of the controller. I have to say that we don't understand how to take advantage of that yet. We think there's a lot of potential there, and our respect for Nintendo goes up a notch, as they're the ones who are doing the things that are disruptive and exciting.
