Roostophe Posted February 11, 2008 Posted February 11, 2008 Got this game today. Haven't really had much time on it to comment, though. Still, I keep on playing baby...
Choze Posted February 11, 2008 Posted February 11, 2008 My PS3 copy should arrive 2moro. Didnt want to pay the high price so got the cheapest price possible. Still busy with Burnout so not in a rush. The lack of loading in the PS3 version and HD sound is good.
Guest Jordan Posted February 12, 2008 Posted February 12, 2008 According to reviews, it has loading times. They're pretty much around the same as the 360 ones...
triforce_keeper Posted February 12, 2008 Posted February 12, 2008 Played the demo yesterday, and I really enjoyed it, I have never played DMC games before. I just can't help but feel I will suck at this game XD
Cube Posted February 12, 2008 Posted February 12, 2008 I just can't help but feel I will suck at this game XD I thought the same. If you play it through on easy mode first then you should be fine as you'll b powered up when you do it on normal. And it gives you a god chance to properly learn the moves and that. It took me a long time to learn the timing for the basic sword combos until I started paying more attention to where the sword was. Once you learn the "opportune" position then doing combos and that should be pretty easy.
Letty Posted February 12, 2008 Posted February 12, 2008 I'm finding the level (mission 15 or 16) where you have to escape from the laboratory, whilst theres all this poisonous gas coming out pretty tough. I really really wish Dante had the devil bringer too Also, I got an SS combo yesterday - but on one of those snake statue things :/
Guest Jordan Posted February 12, 2008 Posted February 12, 2008 Lolololol...lolol. I'm on mission 16 on Devil Hunter difficulty, i would have finished it last night. But i played Kingdom Under Fire for literally 6 hours last night..
Caris Posted February 12, 2008 Posted February 12, 2008 can you just keep replaying earlier missions for orbs and everything to spend? also when you finish the game do you keep your stats and everything for when you play it again? kthxbye.
Guest Jordan Posted February 12, 2008 Posted February 12, 2008 Yes to both. The game stacks abilities, otherwise you'de get your ass kicked. Ie: those ******* electric bastards without Pandora is... very hard.

Yeah like when you go back to having to fight them as Nero ¬_¬ I was doing ok on the Blood Palace thing until one of those came along. Earlier today I discovered that when you're fighting one of those trios of armour-knight type things, the ones where there's a leader and 2 normal ones, if they zoom back and charge up a big black ball attack, you can whip out a charged shot attack with Nero, blow up the ball and kill all 3 of them in two bullets xD easy A-S rank.
Solo Posted February 13, 2008 Posted February 13, 2008 I've just finished the game on Devil Hunter (Normal) and I had a quick gander over on the leader boards and to my surprise.. I'm ranked 760th in the world, not bad eh!

You can throw back the sword from mission 8 boss if you time it right as he throws it.

I love the move Nero does when he grabs hold of the Goldish coloured one once you've gotten rid of his shield. Does some kind of wrestling move then he's one the floor. Bam in his face. I love watching that animation.
Daniel Posted February 13, 2008 Posted February 13, 2008 argh how frustrating is that bit near the end with the multi-levels and the dice and i cant defeat the flying snake!! argh
Dante Posted February 13, 2008 Posted February 13, 2008 I wonder if folks that not played DMC game before knows all the styles moves and what is important to upgrade for Dante?
Shorty Posted February 14, 2008 Posted February 14, 2008 Dante mission, use royal blocker 5x in a row. New biggest challenge for me driving me mental. Managed to get 4x so far....
McPhee Posted February 16, 2008 Posted February 16, 2008 Got this today (well, technically yesterday) and i've just completed it in a single sitting. Im impressed, was my first DMC game. The last boss is a bit shit though (the very, very last one)
S.C.G Posted February 16, 2008 Posted February 16, 2008 I've allready completed this on Devil Hunter (first file) and am now breezing through it on Human :P the extra modes are cool too and it's just so much fun to play. ^^
Shorty Posted February 16, 2008 Posted February 16, 2008 Just managed the Royal Block secret mission but... nonviolent resistance and unbreakable are still ridiculously difficult.
McPhee Posted February 16, 2008 Posted February 16, 2008 I've been wondering, where do you think DMC5 will go from here? Another Dante/Nero pair-up? Co-Op? Dante on his own? Nero with his own series? Basically it was so good i want more lol
Dante Posted February 16, 2008 Posted February 16, 2008 Beaten Devil Hunter mode and unlocked BP and SoS.

Shorty Posted February 17, 2008 Posted February 17, 2008 Beaten Devil Hunter mode and unlocked BP and SoS. How many secret missions did you manage on the way, Dante? Free running was a bitch, wasn't it!
Guest Stefkov Posted February 17, 2008 Posted February 17, 2008 Finally made progress in the game. I'm on the last Mission now. I'll save it for later tonight. I hope it's an epic end to a good game. Well it was. Now to leave it a while then start Devil Hunter mode.
