Edjamakated Posted August 1, 2006 Posted August 1, 2006 I just found out that we are taking this OVERBOARD. What is happening IS: Camelot as making a Yahoo! Games type of game for japan only. It is going to help launch a new search engine browser thing. It's online of course. Camelot is POST-PONING any projects they have right now to launch this game. After that, they will return to the Wii/DS....
Dante Posted August 1, 2006 Author Posted August 1, 2006 Yes, GoNintendo.com has updated saying "Reader Graham sends in an email stating that the source from which Gamefront received the news makes the story sound a little different. Camelot won’t be making any games with Nintendo for quite some time due to I Love Golf, but they aren’t ruling anything out for the future."
Fierce_LiNk Posted August 1, 2006 Posted August 1, 2006 Guys, you scared me there for a minute! So, yaaaay. I bet some people from Camelot are viewing this thread and are pleased that a lot of us would have missed them if they stopped making games for Nintendo.
Jamba Posted August 1, 2006 Posted August 1, 2006 Still sucks that they are leaving Nintendo alone to go make a golf game for Yahoo. Seriously, I can't think of a worse time than now for a close Nintendo dev to go AWOL. We won't see a Camelot game until 2008 now. Great that like a 3rd of the way into the Wii life cycle! Wii needs strong support not just at the outset but a sustained supply of quality games. What the fuck is going on?!
Hero-of-Time Posted August 1, 2006 Posted August 1, 2006 This news saddend me and then I read through the whole thread and breathed a sigh of relief. I cant believe that some people said that Golden Sun wasnt that great! I have yet to play the 2nd game but the first was a master piece.
DCK Posted August 2, 2006 Posted August 2, 2006 Man, that would've been a blow. I need more Golden Sun.
immy Posted August 2, 2006 Posted August 2, 2006 I don't get all the golden sun love, i'm playing it right now and it seems to be little more then a generic rpg.
mcj metroid Posted August 2, 2006 Posted August 2, 2006 i think the worst news would be if intelligent systems left nintendo.Imagine no more advanced wars or fire emblem.AGHHHH!
pedrocasilva Posted August 2, 2006 Posted August 2, 2006 i think the worst news would be if intelligent systems left nintendo.Imagine no more advanced wars or fire emblem.AGHHHH!That is really a Nintendo fully owned studio, so it can't happen. Most of the team were infact Nintendo R&D 1 back in the days, the first internal development studio in Nintendo. -> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nintendo_Research_&_Development_1 The Fire Emblem original director left in 2000 though, and he went on doing clones of the series for the Playstation... Nintendo even put him on court because he called his "new and inovative" game "Emblem Saga" he later renamed it to "Tear Ring Saga".
