Dyson Posted January 5, 2007 Posted January 5, 2007 We haven't got many Chelsea fans here, so we don't get to hear what they think. Who do you think will be coming in? Also, who will be leaving? SWP will most likely be leaving. I wouldn't say it was a bad move for him to come to Chelsea - would you turn that opportunity down? He just hasn't fit in.
Platty Posted January 5, 2007 Posted January 5, 2007 Montella has joined Fulham on loan... Thats pretty damn good. Fulham already doing well this season and getting him can only make that better. Yeah he is 32 but damn he is still pretty good...83 goals in 180 matches for Roma.

harribo Posted January 5, 2007 Posted January 5, 2007 Whos SWP? !0 charecters sheffield wed ftw Shaun Wright Phillips. Also Sheffield Wed FTW indeed:D Apparantly our great and not in the slightest bit an arrogant tw@ of a chairman is in talks with a rich foreign Casino owner rumoured to be one Dr. Stanley Ho who also has a history of being involved with conflicts with the Triads which should be good fun.

I know you say your chair is a ****, but do you really want to sell out to some foreign business man? If Mr Hillwood sold Arsenal to some foreign tart who was in it for money, I'd be protesting oustide the Emirates.
harribo Posted January 5, 2007 Posted January 5, 2007 I know you say your chair is a ****, but do you really want to sell out to some foreign business man? If Mr Hillwood sold Arsenal to some foreign tart who was in it for money, I'd be protesting oustide the Emirates. You would not be saying that if you listened to our chairman. Hes arrogant, only interested in prrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrofit (joke from his radio sheff interviews were he was speaking about why he sacked Sturrock and why there is no investors as an invetor will expect prrrrrrrrrrrrrofit) and saving his own neck. He also constantly attacks fans and is obssessed with getting his hands on Wednesdayites(a supporters group) 10% shares saying he will give the manager cash to spend on the team as he does every time he asks for them. The reason he wants these shares? because the 30% him and the other directors have used to dictate the club arent enough to attract an investor no they need 51% for that. Picture from a Wednesday forum
Charlie Posted January 5, 2007 Posted January 5, 2007 Ally McCoist and Walter Smith are favourites to take the Rangers job, with Souness second favourite. I hope Smith doesn't take it with McCoist as he's the best manager Scotland have had in a long time.
antster1983 Posted January 5, 2007 Posted January 5, 2007 Former Everton defender David Unsworth has signed on a free transfer for Wigan Athletic from Sheffield United.
Eddage Posted January 5, 2007 Posted January 5, 2007 Apparently Bayern Munich would be willing to listen to offers of around 20 mil for Owen Hargreaves - I say go for it United!
harribo Posted January 5, 2007 Posted January 5, 2007 Personally I think Hargreaves is better than Carrick and how mich did you pay gor him?
Guest Stefkov Posted January 5, 2007 Posted January 5, 2007 Carrick is pretty poo. I dont even know why we bought him in the first place. tbh i dont even know where we got him from.
Eddage Posted January 5, 2007 Posted January 5, 2007 Carrick is a quality player! Hargreaves is a better defensive midfielder, so tackling back, etc he is great at (he's also versatile and would be able to handle himself in defence), whereas Carrick has the ability to split a defence with one pass - something that is lacking from Hargreaves' game! We paid 18 mil for Carrick, so on that basis 20 seems alright for Hargreaves!
BlueStar Posted January 5, 2007 Posted January 5, 2007 Yeah and we paid £8m for Boumsong, doesn't mean you can use it as a yardstick for how much piss poor defenders should cost. £18m for Carrick, Spurs must have been pissing themselves even more than we were when they gave us £7m for Jenas.
Atomic Boo Posted January 5, 2007 Posted January 5, 2007 Hopefully when Larsson comes on loan he'll want to stay at Manu. Unlikely but that would rule.
Max Posted January 5, 2007 Posted January 5, 2007 apparently, united are ready to make a 15 million pounds bid. ps. if carrick is worth 18 million, i guess someone like gerrard would be worth 566687778522 billion pounds. shouldnt have paid more than 8-10 for him.
Eddage Posted January 5, 2007 Posted January 5, 2007 I think the fact that it was a British transfer as well means the price was over blown a bit - like West Ham paying 7 mil for Dean Ashton - foreign players of the same calibre are usually cheaper!
Fierce_LiNk Posted January 5, 2007 Posted January 5, 2007 Scholes doesn't really have that much time left at United. So, the question is, can BOTH Carrick and Hargreaves play in the same team?
Max Posted January 5, 2007 Posted January 5, 2007 Scholes doesn't really have that much time left at United. So, the question is, can BOTH Carrick and Hargreaves play in the same team? problem there, carrick is no way as attacking as scholes. has good passing to behonest, both long and short but thats it, doesnt get into the box enough and not direct enough either. i really cant see scholes being repalced any time soon as there is a lack of attacking medfielders like zidane, ballack, fabregas, requeilme ect.
Noodleman Posted January 5, 2007 Posted January 5, 2007 Scholes doesn't really have that much time left at United. So, the question is, can BOTH Carrick and Hargreaves play in the same team? I think Rooneys the ideal replacement for Scholes tbh. Edit: something like this in the future Foster ???? Rio Vidic Evra Ronaldo Carrick Hargreaves ??? Rooney Saha Basicaly Rooney playing deep hargreaves to sit back and Carrick to ping balls about to Saha/the wings. Could work really well imo.
Goron_3 Posted January 5, 2007 Posted January 5, 2007 Hagreaves would rule at United. Also, Carrick pawns. It took him a while to settle but he's doing great now! One of the only players that can split a defense in two with one pass and make it look effortless. Such a class player.
Platty Posted January 5, 2007 Posted January 5, 2007 Carrick has one of the best ball distribution and pass completion records in the premiership. He is class. Just needs to get forward more. Next time you watch United, take a look at him, his movement off the ball and vision when he has the ball is 2nd to none.
Babooo Posted January 5, 2007 Posted January 5, 2007 Carrick has been poor especially for the £18 million you lot paid for him. FLOP!!!
gmac Posted January 5, 2007 Posted January 5, 2007 exactly £18 million for a midfielder, at that price you would expect a midfielder to have popped up with at least 6 or 7 goals by now and a few assists and Carrick has 0 goals and 1 assist
