Pyxis Posted September 2, 2009 Posted September 2, 2009 yeah, exactly. It looks a bit out of place. This pic with the plane showing off its angle of attack is much more sexy:
Paj! Posted September 2, 2009 Posted September 2, 2009 Candy Darling on her deathbed, by someone I can't remember.
franciszek Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 Hi Every body... Its simply outstanding work from all of you.I like all the snaps and keep going work like this. Thanks again for the post.
Goafer Posted September 6, 2009 Posted September 6, 2009 Some pictures I got from VW Action: There was a wedding/blessing on the drag strip. Lining the cars up: The ceremony:
Shorty Posted September 6, 2009 Posted September 6, 2009 I always assumed planes made them, pretty cool though. Those are not the skinny vapour trails you're thinking of... these clouds look like this from the ground: http://ozreport.com/docs/2007-04-20_MorningGloryAtSweers1_abc.net.au.jpg
davestack Posted September 17, 2009 Posted September 17, 2009 wow, these photos look cool andspecial to me.
Goafer Posted September 24, 2009 Posted September 24, 2009 Not one of mine, but I love this picture. Just a shame the focus is on the hair instead of the eyes. Everything else is perfect IMO:
Goafer Posted October 4, 2009 Posted October 4, 2009 A picture I took of my recently (as in this morning) stolen car: We had fun.
ReZourceman Posted October 4, 2009 Posted October 4, 2009 Wow thats awesome. Because it holds a story.
Goafer Posted October 4, 2009 Posted October 4, 2009 (edited) Wow thats awesome. Because it holds a story. I'm going to take it into work tomorrow and get the biggest print made of it that I can. Some more: Edited October 4, 2009 by Goafer

Retro_Link Posted November 7, 2009 Posted November 7, 2009 On the topic of great motor racing photography:
Goafer Posted November 7, 2009 Posted November 7, 2009 (edited) That picture is amazing. I love the complete lack of barrier between the track and the spectators. Some of my own from over the years, most are from before I learnt to use Photoshop to adjust levels and things: Up on 2 wheels. The owner was quite glad I got this! A bit sideways! The guy has locked the steering and accelerator and is climbing onto the roof while it spins. Edited November 7, 2009 by Goafer Automerged Doublepost
Retro_Link Posted November 8, 2009 Posted November 8, 2009 (edited) That looks awesome Goafer, what's the event? I only have a few half decent motor racing photos myself: Edited November 8, 2009 by Retro_Link
ReZourceman Posted November 8, 2009 Posted November 8, 2009 Where do you live Retro? You should totally come to the next one we go to. Don't wanna talk for Goafer but I believe that to be Santa Pod.
Retro_Link Posted November 8, 2009 Posted November 8, 2009 I live in Gloucestershire, so a county over from Goafer it would seem, where are you Rez, London way?
ReZourceman Posted November 8, 2009 Posted November 8, 2009 I'm in Bucks which is like a County over from Goafer too. Lol. Just down a bit.
Goafer Posted November 8, 2009 Posted November 8, 2009 (edited) Yeah, almost all of those pictures were from Santa Pod. It's a drag strip/show ground near Wellingborough. The pictures are from various shows that include VW Action, Flame and Thunder and the questionably named JapShow. The 2 pictures that were on an actual track (with corners and everything!) were from the Retro Rides gathering 07. That was at Mallory Park, which IIRC was near Nottingham. My old Scirocco was on display at the club stand for that show. I was quite proud: I didn't take that photo. And the more the merrier at car shows! Anyone from here is more than welcome to come. Goafer Posted November 14, 2009 Posted November 14, 2009 A photo a friend took of Buttons winning car when it came to Brackley, which is where they are based: And the boss himself:
Goafer Posted November 16, 2009 Posted November 16, 2009 Wahoo! One of my pictures is in the Scirocco Registers calendar for the second year running! And I came in second place out of all the entries (top 12 got in, obviously). Plus, due to the nature of my entry, they've decided to give me a free calendar! My entry: The other ones that made it into the calendars (in place order): Taken from here
Retro_Link Posted November 16, 2009 Posted November 16, 2009 Yours is a great photo. Wait which one came first, the snowy one? because other than that one and 'April' the others are, well, a bit rubbish.
Goafer Posted November 16, 2009 Posted November 16, 2009 Bear in mind that it's for people who are fans of Sciroccos . A lot of the photos were voted for because of the car in the photo, rather than the quality of the photography (although I do like the photography in a lot of the shots). The snowy one did indeed come first BTW, they're in order based on votes/position. A selection of ones that didn't get in that I quite liked: Again, not necessarily good photography but I love the cars in the pictures.
