Posted April 12, 2006 It's iconic, it's more British than roast beef, and you ALL know the slogan. I eat Marmite on toast at least once every other day. However, I have to admit, I don't actually like the taste of it, in fact, the only reason I like eating it is because it makes me feel a small amount of elevation. Is that being addicted? Does anyone else get Marmite craveings? Oh and on another note, is it healthy?

Posted April 12, 2006 Marmite is extremely good for you, it contains Yeast extract.. which is an exceptionally good source of many vitaimins and minerals including B vitamins.. great for vegetarians as meat is often the only sufficient source of B vitamins in the diet. I like it.. in moderation though, I don't eat it every day.. but I am a vegetarian so I just take multivitamins as a top up instead.

Posted April 12, 2006 i thought marmite was made from beef or is that bovrill? Bovril used to be made from cows but they changed to a 100% veggie recipe during that whole BSE thing.
