Supergrunch Posted April 24, 2008 Posted April 24, 2008 I haven't seen the first episode, but I think the writing's a lot better this season, especially in terms of dialogue. "I'm Spartacus." "Oh, so am I."
Mr_Odwin Posted April 24, 2008 Posted April 24, 2008 Morrissey...? That's Morrissey, which is cool. In the recent BBC adaptation of Sense & Sensibility I thought he was good.
Coolness Bears Posted April 24, 2008 Posted April 24, 2008 I Love the Ood! In there on special way they are beautiful... Am i the only one who thinks this?
Tellyn Posted April 24, 2008 Posted April 24, 2008 I did feel really sympathetic for them, great episode. The writing has been fantastic thus far.
Dante Posted April 26, 2008 Posted April 26, 2008 The Medusa Cascade came up again when Doctor tells Donna of the "fifteenth broken moon" of the Medusa Cascade. The Medusa Cascade was previously mentioned in "Last of the Time Lords" and in "The Fires of Pompeii". The Sontaran Stratagem is very good ep of the series so far
Cube Posted April 26, 2008 Posted April 26, 2008 Is the temperature significant? "Intruder Window" was so bad it was great.
Dante Posted April 26, 2008 Posted April 26, 2008 Sontarans were far too shiney for my liking. Yeah but better than old designs from two doctors and The Time Warrior. There helmets remind me hitchhiker guide to the galaxy film version of Marvin the Paranoid Android. Bit odd that United Nations dont want UNIT to be understand as "United Nations Intelligence Taskforce" anymore.
Supergrunch Posted April 28, 2008 Posted April 28, 2008 I think I came a little when the doctor corrected that prodigous guy's grammar.
rokhed00 Posted April 28, 2008 Posted April 28, 2008 Yeah but better than old designs from two doctors and The Time Warrior. There helmets remind me hitchhiker guide to the galaxy film version of Marvin the Paranoid Android. Still prefer the old ones, the quilted silver suited them better, now they just look like over sized action figures. Bit odd that United Nations dont want UNIT to be understand as "United Nations Intelligence Taskforce" anymore. What are they known as now then, wasn't really paying attention. I think I came a little when the doctor corrected that prodigous guy's grammar. Prodigious? Wanky little git seems like a far more accurate description.
Cube Posted April 28, 2008 Posted April 28, 2008 What are they known as now then, wasn't really paying attention. Unified Intelligence Taskforce.
rokhed00 Posted April 28, 2008 Posted April 28, 2008 Unified Intelligence Taskforce. Fucks sake, that doesn't even make sense. On the subject of UNIT, where are all the old faces, obviously Lethbridge Stewart would have retired years ago, but what about some of the lower ranked characters like Benton or Yates, it's conceivable one of them would have been promoted to a position of command by now.
Supergrunch Posted April 28, 2008 Posted April 28, 2008 Prodigious? Wanky little git seems like a far more accurate description. Well yeah, but we were supposed to think he was intelligent.
Happenstance Posted April 28, 2008 Posted April 28, 2008 That kid kind of looked to me like they wanted Daniel Radcliff for the role and couldnt get him so they just found someone who looked a bit like him
Haver Posted April 28, 2008 Posted April 28, 2008 I've found it difficult to watch any of the T Grant seasons so far but this one I've seen every episode and really like. I think they have the fantasy-whimsy-comedy balance just right.
Esequiel Posted April 28, 2008 Posted April 28, 2008 Benton Heard a rumor hes in the next episode Also the director has said that this series brings to a close a huge story arc spanning 4 series....
Tellyn Posted April 28, 2008 Posted April 28, 2008 This epic story arc is simply Rose, they'll probably kill her off.
Cube Posted April 28, 2008 Posted April 28, 2008 This epic story arc is simply Rose, they'll probably kill her off. I'm not sure...would the team even dare trying to kill one of the companions? The closest they got was killing Jack...then he came back to life and started his own TV series.
rokhed00 Posted April 28, 2008 Posted April 28, 2008 I'm not sure...would the team even dare trying to kill one of the companions? The closest they got was killing Jack...then he came back to life and started his own TV series. One word, Adric.
Dante Posted April 28, 2008 Posted April 28, 2008 One word, Adric. Didnt some companions have there minds wiped?
LegoMan1031 Posted April 28, 2008 Posted April 28, 2008 The Doctor being the last of the timelords and the time war. Could that possibly be the 'story arc over 4 series coming to a close'?
Tellyn Posted April 28, 2008 Posted April 28, 2008 I'm not sure...would the team even dare trying to kill one of the companions? The closest they got was killing Jack...then he came back to life and started his own TV series. Why not? They kill everything else. (The Autons, the Master, Daleks, Cybermen, the Time Lords, Racnoss, they seem to go through the seven gates of Hell to ensure that nothing survives).
rokhed00 Posted April 28, 2008 Posted April 28, 2008 Didnt some companions have there minds wiped? Peri had her brain removed and exchanged, don't remember any having their mind wiped.
Dante Posted April 28, 2008 Posted April 28, 2008 Peri had her brain removed and exchanged, don't remember any having their mind wiped. It must be her that i am thinking of but wiki says second Doctor's companions had there memory of their experiences with the Doctor wiped by the Time Lords.
