Kings of Left Field indeed. What an odd closer.

Daily updates on Switch 2 following next week's Switch 2 Direct.

It's up on Android and iOS now.

You get to choose a theme, making for some nice looking calendars!

Oh, and also, zoom in on the Switch 2 and...

...the previously faceless button has been confirmed to be the C-button!

The production values on this are kinda bonkers!

Also, this has themes! But Switch doesn't...
They're just messing with us at this point.

I find it interesting that of all the games that allow you to receive notifications on (Pokémon Scarlet, Fire Emblem Heroes, etc), Smash Ultimate is there. Why? That game isn't getting any new notifications these days.

There's a Mii Maker on this thing!

And I think I finally fixed my broken desktop Mii, so my next gaming calender should be accurate.
Maybe it'll finally stop suggesting I play Persona now!

The Mii Maker just seem to be a link that opens in a browser.

Yes, but it didn't exist before today, and you can't get to it on a Desktop, believe me, I tried.

I'll check it out then probably delete it and follow a BlueSky account that reposts the information.

This was pretty much my experience. Downloaded it, faffed on a bit and deleted it. I'll continue to get my news from the likes of Era.

I'm not really sure what this brings to the table to people who already follow gaming news elsewhere.::shrug:

Daily artwork is a neat idea, especially if they do more classic stuff like this (I wish it was a higher resolution, though). I'd love to see some obscure stuff, and any box art without titles that we've never had before would be lovely to see.

The calendar widget is pretty neat. I let the app know what games I'm interested in recieving updates on, and it gave me a heads-up that the Nobunaga's Ambition games are now on NSO, as well as some raid event starting on Pokémon Scarlet.

I downloaded it, nothing loaded and I uninstalled it. May try again when things have calmed down and the initial interest has died off.

Dang, Nintendo just announced the Zelda movie release date via this silly app.

They really want you to be checking this thing daily and aren't wasting any time by making bombshell announcements using it.  They're probably gonna be dropping some pretty big news using it over the coming weeks as they try to establish it as a daily driver.

Dunno how long the push will last for, but they're clearly taking it seriously.

My bigger question is why they didn't announce it two days ago.

To encourage people to check the app.

I'm betting part of the reason for this app is the whole Twitter fallout. Nintendo would rather establish the newsfeed on their own terms, instead of risk the platform they release news on turning into a Nazi safe haven.

Don't blame them.

But like...they could have announced it exactly 2 years before. That's what the hero of time would have wanted.

It better be a completely new reincarnation of Link.

I need to add another silly moniker to my list of Links.
