Football Season 2019-20

Recommended Posts

I like Lampard and think he's got a great future ahead of him, but to dismiss the fact that he inherited a team with Kovacic, Jorginho, Kante, William, Pulisic, is a bit cheeky, regardless of the summer. Meanwhile he's got a system upstairs that has recently supported Sarri and Conte to major victories. Meanwhile Ole is stuck under the parasites that have seen us go from biggest club in the world to banter club. Not saying Ole is a great manager, but he's done pretty well considering. Wish he'd just quit to make a point.

Massive win for Villa tonight. I feared the worst when Watford took the lead but we managed to turn it around in the last seconds of the game to get a big 3 points. The last few games have been very nervy, we haven't had a striker since Wesley got injured so have looked a bit toothless in attack but we've thankfully bought Samatta from Genk so should be a bit more balance for the rest of the season. The next couple of games will have a big influence on our chances of staying up, if we can beat Bournemouth and get something at Southampton a few weeks later then things will be looking a lot rosier for us.

Sold our best player, had a transfer ban and we’re 4th.

Keane compares Ole to Lampard when Ole has spent how much in comparison?

Let's be real here for a second. Pogba is our most creative player and arguably our best one and he's been out for most of the season. We sold our top scoring striker, let go of our best performing midfielder (Herrera) for free (fucking madness) and didn't replace Fellaini or Sanchez. Losing McTominay a few weeks ago and now Rashford to injury is just the icing on the cake.

The upper management of the club have been complete tripe. Really fucking stupid footballing decisions with no forward thinking behind any of it. Moyes, Van Gaal, Mourinho and now Ole have all struggled, with the common link between them being Ed Woodward. He has royally screwed the club over. If Ole goes, he should also go, too. Without a doubt.

This just proves that you need to have people who know the game at least on some sort of level when appointing the upper management. Bankers only care about staying in the black. As long as United continues to turn over a profit, Woodward will continue to not give a shit.

Good win for us last night. I was saying to a lad at work yesterday morning that we were lucky to beat Wolves earlier in the season and it would be a tough game. They've been very unlucky to get nothing from us as they played stupidly well in both games.

It's amazing how we keep on finding a way to win!

I remember when Klopp first arrived he talking about changing the mentality of the players and the fans.

You used to always feel that when Liverpool went a goal down, there was never much of a hope of actually turning the game around to come away with all 3 points.. or, if we were ahead, even by a couple of goals, you didn't feel entirely confident we'd see it out.

Everything that has happened in the last few years has been amazing and I'm going to enjoy every second of it because you know it can't last forever!

Hopefully we can finally land the Premier League this year

It's happening, @MadDog 😢

I'm still waiting for us to cock it up and for it to be the greatest collapse of a lead in sports history.

We wouldn't be Liverpool fans if we didn't expect that to happen

We really should have beat there. Shrewsbury were by far the better team. That's the danger of playing a weaker side and now we've got an extra game to play.

Chat about football or cricket in the workplace should be curtailed, a management body has warned.

Ann Francke, head of the Chartered Management Institute, said sports chat can exclude women and lead to more laddish behaviour.

"A lot of women, in particular, feel left out," she told the BBC's Today programme.

"They don't follow those sports and they don't like either being forced to talk about them or not being included."

"I have nothing against sports enthusiasts or cricket fans - that's great," she said.

"But the issue is many people aren't cricket fans," she added, arguing bosses should crack down on sports banter.

Yeah, she can sod right off with this. What a ridiculous thing to say. I don't complain when people at work sit and talk about things i'm not interested in. When the whole Brexit thing was in full swing I had to listen to people go on and on about politics but I didn't ask them to discuss something else. It was their interest and had every right to talk about it.

Chat about make-up and summer dresses in the work place should be curtailed.

A lot of men, in particular, feel left out.

They don't follow those fashion areas and they don't like either being forced to talk about them or not being included.

I have nothing against fashion enthusiasts or make-up fans - that's great.

But the issue is many people aren't make-up fans.

Thanks Kanye, very cool.

Send nudes.

I increased my interest in football when I got my first job, to give me a topic to help socialise with work colleagues. Kinda baffled reading that article. None of my conversations have ever descended to laddish sleaze. Suggesting one leads to the other is quite insulting.

Looks like we're going to Wembley!

Leicester were undoubtedly the more threatening side across both legs but we showed plenty of grit to take the win. Grealish was superb again, absolutely long overdue for an England call up - he has been by far the best English midfielder in the top flight all season.

Grealish > Madison for me. Would love to have him at United.

Liverpool 19 points clear now they've caught up with that delayed match. Even if Klopp was incapacitated and they hired Kevin Keegan for the remainder of the season, don't think they'd lose the league now.

Which only makes it even more ridiculous that Klopp's refuses to play any first team players (or even turn up himself) in the FA Cup replay against Shrewsbury. They have a very good chance of going for the treble and he can afford to rest players in the league so he may aswell play the first team in the cup then give them all a winter break while he plays the kids in the league.

This is just absolute gold and shows the totally blind fanboy side of football.

The young lads actually pulled it off. Bizarre when you consider Shrewsbury managed to outplay a more experienced side in the previous match.

Cant believe Oxford have pulled 2 goals back in 10 minutes against the Toon. An upset could be on the cards...

You only won because the guys at Stockley Park disallowed a Shrewsbury goal when it was 0-0.

Yeah, the goal was never offside. Shrewsbury really knocked themselves out by scoring 2 own goals. Still, my point still stands that they seemed much better against a stronger Liverpool side.

Man City have been banned from all European competitions for the next 2 seasons. That's going to cost them an absolute fortune. Lovely stuff. :D

Unfortunately I can see it being lessened quite a bit after an appeal.

Sadly, I think you're right. Still, not a good look for the club at all. If it does somehow manage to stick then I imagine Pep will walk.

Yeah people have already been speculating he’ll leave sooner rather than later. This could push it to much sooner.
