Tonight's Smash games...

Yeah... items on high + custom stages might be a bit crazier than I thought. :laughing:

The one most important piece of advice I give kids who struggle with getting to grips with Dedede is that his Up Special can be cancelled if you tilt the control stick up after he reaches the apex height, you can then move left and right a bit after you do so, it might just be enough to edge yourself back on to the stage.

Anyway, excellent performance from @Ike tonight, you were on a roll!

Stamina format tonight.

7:30 for custom stages.

Right, forgot to ask @S.C.G and @BowserBasher. As you might remember, I mentioned @RedShell wanting to have the Custom stage half hour session stick to one set of rules each week.

Simply put, Time format with every item on, including the S Flag, and set to high frequency.

Are you two fine with that? Because if you think there's too many items, have your say and I'll set it down to normal. Or hell, if you prefer it it to follow the frequency I use for the main Smash session, I could put it down to low.

Based on last week I reckon high is overkill. :heh: So we should go for normal or even low, but I’m cool with whatever everyone decides.

BTW, just to let you know, I’m going to have be on Wi-Fi tonight *shudder* and playing in portable mode (with Joy-Con that drift) *shudder x2* :shakehead So yeah, not sure how well that’s going to go. :hehe:

Right, Halloween was two days ago, and Vampire Survivors is now an official Castlevania product, so I'm gonna open the coffin on this theme I did two years ago.

What a Horrible Night To Have A Smash

Like before, these characters can be crowbarred into a horror theme, with a few costume restrictions.
If you have a Mii that you think fits the bill, you're free to use them. Don't take the mick though, Goemon doesn't count.

  • Link, Young Link, Toon Link - Dark Link costumes only
  • Steve - Zombie and Enderman only

Stages are those that take place at night or in dark places.

Oh, and I actually purchased Kazuya the other day too, so will probably stick mainly to him tonight while I figure out how he plays in Smash. :cool:

It’s A,A,A,A,A,A,A,A,A,A. That’s about the only combo people remember. But yeah he does have quite a few moves that you’ll probably end up never using because you’ll just forget the button inputs.

Weird, but not as weird as Steve!

Remember, diagonal tilts are a thing with him, and I can never remember which one is which!

Probably my least favourite of the "Arcade Fighting Characters".

Are people opposed to using random characters for the custom stage portion of the night? I always feel that the set characters should be for the main event. Since custom stages now don't follow the ruleset too, what's stopping random characters?

Well, with a theme like this one it could be, seeing as I've got quite a collection of spooky themed custom stages now. ;)

Yay! More tilt moves that I can't do because of tap jump.

My first impressions are that he seems pretty sluggish, but has some powerful/annoying moves to compensate for that.
It's fun to finally be able to dish out the stupidly long combo for once. :laughing: Love the range on his Final Smash too, although it's also easy to whiff, as I expertly demonstrated on a few occasions. :D

Anyway, cheers for the games everyone.

My Bayonetta performance against @Ike's Ganondorf was not my finest moment. Got completely clowned on!

EDIT: Wow, @RedShell, you still use tap jump? Dude, you've gotta switch to button jump. Short hops are super useful!

I had Bayonetta and Mimikyu closing in, that was an all or nothing Warlock Punch. I still can't believe it killed.

It was an amazing comeback! I was pretty certain I had the match when it came down to us two. I even said so on voice chat, much to my karma-guided comeuppance.
