Mandalore Posted April 7, 2019 Posted April 7, 2019 Finished a 3rd playthrough earlier. It was definitely worth playing through a few times, although the story still seems mostly like a cryptic jumbled mess. I suppose it is a JRPG though. Spoiler I picked A2 near the end and got ending C. If I'd picked 9S, would I have got a different ending?

In fact, now that you've unlocked Chapter Select, you can still get that ending... neither of which are the true ending to the game. But you will be able to access the true ending after getting Ending D.
Julius Posted July 25, 2022 Posted July 25, 2022 (edited) So, this is awesome: a new secret room has been found in NieR: Automata which no-one else has been able to access. That if it is a mod means whoever modded it is leaps and bounds beyond what the game's modding is currently capable of is also just something crazy to think about too. Love stuff like this Edited July 25, 2022 by Julius
Julius Posted July 29, 2022 Posted July 29, 2022 (edited) Turned out to be modders, but certainly one hell of an achievement by the sound of things! Now would be the perfect time for a bit of news on a sequel Edited July 29, 2022 by Julius
MindFreak Posted June 12 Posted June 12 I'm (still) playing this, just started working towards ending C. I get the praise for the game, I do, but I do find it a tad... boring to play? The world is bland, the combat is a bit dull (I know, I might not have explored it thoroughly as I play on Normal), and while the story seems interesting, I think it has been dragged too far out with me having to play the same game twice to uncover the true story. I get it, it's a way only games would be able to tell a story but I think the revelations in 9S' story were... too weak. I will finish it, though, as I am curious as to what the heck is going on.

I'm in the fact same boat. Going through C now, but its been a three year journey, haha. 1
MindFreak Posted July 1 Posted July 1 Nice. I completed it the other day, at least got ending C. I don't want to go back. It was too tedious and the story didn't wrap up in any satisfying way. I might have to read up on it but at the moment I can't be bothered. It had a novel way of telling the story but the story itself is simply not worth the grind, I find. Ended up spending 27 hours on it officially but due to my Switch turning off sometimes, I might have lost an hour here or there.

I might just do a youtube watch of the story points, as I don't really feel like playing through it. I love the world, the characters and the atmosphere, but it's been a chore to get through the story. I kept hearing people say "you have to see it, it's the most gripping story" etc, but I honestly can't believe that. I've played the likes of Xenoblade 3, which made me ugly cry for 2 hours straight. Now THAT's a story I will forever remember. This on the other hand, I can't really recall what happened unless I do a recap and start to play the game. Hopefully a youtube walkthrough of Ending C will shed some light, and then I won't have to deal with the game being in my backlog all the time 😛 1
