bob Posted November 16, 2014 Share Posted November 16, 2014 I was thinking the other day about the Super Smash Brothers: Melee trailer (the one that was basically the intro to the game that they showed at E3) and it got me thinking about my favourite game trailers. I realise that there is currently some backlash at how game designers portray games (*cough* AC:U) and how they are often accused of lying and whatnot, but sometimes a really good trailer is a really good trailer, so i thought we could post our favourites? Obviously the one i mentioned above: I remember that this trailer was included on a DVD of E3 games that got released with NGC magazine. I think i had the Melee one on repeat for about 6 months. It's just a perfectly crafted hype-gasm. Another sequel, but i think that just adds to the anticipation factor. The first Borderlands game was fantastic, and when i heard there was going to be another one, i got very excited indeed. Then i saw the above trailer, and bits of my face fell off. I've never actually played Dead Island, it's just not my kind of game. However, the initial trailer was a brilliant piece of 3 minute story-telling. gaggle64 Posted November 17, 2014 Share Posted November 17, 2014 Two spring to mind - the first is the Mass Effect 2 launch trailer which is just a superb bit of editing up and down. The other is the debut teaser for Mirror's Edge. It's super simple but it immediately catches you with it's bright crisp visuals promising something totally new. EDIT:Beaten by Jonnas so I won't bother with the video again. One of my favourites in recent years was this Smash Bros. trailer. I was like a kid at Christmas when I seen this. flameboy Posted November 19, 2014 Share Posted November 19, 2014 (edited) For me it has to be the original Rogue Squadron reveal that was shown when the Gamecube originally launched. Such a great way to show off what ended up being a phenomenal game. EDIT: I couldn't find it on google...think it was part of a Spaceworld reveal. The 2nd one is their most recent and coincidentally features chat from the Alliance & Coalition I'm part of (Brave Newbies & Test, sister corps in the BRAVE Alliance - part of the HERO Coalition.)
