Jimbob Posted December 8, 2014 Posted December 8, 2014 (edited) Just tinkering with the settings, is everyone leaving it on the Dynamic setting weather-wise? Edit: Took some snaps earlier, loving this game. Edited December 9, 2014 by Jimbob
Fierce_LiNk Posted December 9, 2014 Posted December 9, 2014 TOMORROW! @Daft has been patiently waiting on this! It's a thing of beauty! Weather is so good. I was enjoying it so much anyway, but now it's just on another level.
Jimbob Posted December 9, 2014 Posted December 9, 2014 That gif cannot be used enough, love it. Did some challenges last night, managed to beat one of Cookyman's times before he trounced it. Would have had another go, but alas the dog wanted to go out for a walk. Loving the dynamic weather setting, driving around one minute it's dry. Next it's raining/snowy/stormy. It certainly makes this game even more better than it already was.
bryanee Posted December 9, 2014 Posted December 9, 2014 I finally went back to this yesterday after waiting for it be patched and shit. Well I'm glad I did. The weather is amazing and it also looks like the AA has been improved. Fantastic stuff.
drahkon Posted December 9, 2014 Posted December 9, 2014 (edited) OH COME THE FUCK ON, GUYS. How can you do this to me? I've got Far Cry 4, Dragon Age, The Binding of Isaac, GTA V and Destiny to play and now you're telling me that Drive Club is finally finished? I hate you all. *loads up Drive Club* You wankers. Edit: I need a Club to join. Edited December 9, 2014 by drahkon
somme Posted December 9, 2014 Posted December 9, 2014 Playing this when severely hungover is not wise.
drahkon Posted December 9, 2014 Posted December 9, 2014 I have yet to encounter any feature of that "Dynamic Weather" But I've done some races and marveled upon the beauty that is Drive Club's graphics.
Jimbob Posted December 9, 2014 Posted December 9, 2014 I have yet to encounter any feature of that "Dynamic Weather" But I've done some races and marveled upon the beauty that is Drive Club's graphics. Have you set the weather to "Dynamic" when doing a race?
bryanee Posted December 9, 2014 Posted December 9, 2014 My pic got faved by the director of the game on twitter lol My car did not survive unscathed.
drahkon Posted December 10, 2014 Posted December 10, 2014 Have you set the weather to "Dynamic" when doing a race? Lel, I thought the weather would've been automatically set to dynamic with the patch. Will have to look for this particular setting. :p
Jimbob Posted December 10, 2014 Posted December 10, 2014 My pic got faved by the director of the game on twitter lol My car did not survive unscathed. Sweet, i've not raced in Norway yet to experience the snow. Only had the rain so far. Lel, I thought the weather would've been automatically set to dynamic with the patch. Will have to look for this particular setting. :p Ah, there we are. It's a great feature, i love it being one minute it's raining. The next it stops or becomes stormy
somme Posted December 13, 2014 Posted December 13, 2014 I'm not really interested in new cars. Would much rather have new tracks, and hopefully one day a new country or two.
Fierce_LiNk Posted December 13, 2014 Posted December 13, 2014 I have to say that the weather update has made this game hit a whole new level of awesomeness. Dynamic weather and time transitions put together are just so fucking hnnnngggggggg. I played on a track earlier in Norway that started off at midnight/early hours of the morning. Pitch black with heavy snow. Couldn't see shit. It then eased off before going to no snow and then became heavy again. Whilst that was going on, it became early morning, making it much easier to see. It's incredible, tbh. Visually, it looks stunning. I'm glad I stuck with it and it seems like a bargain at the price that we paid for the pre-order. Digital, too, part of the reason why I play it so much.
khilafah Posted December 13, 2014 Posted December 13, 2014 regarding the weather patch. have any of the world tour races now got weather included in races as I have yet to come across it. do we only get weather on single races?
Cookyman Posted December 13, 2014 Posted December 13, 2014 I'm not really interested in new cars. Would much rather have new tracks, and hopefully one day a new country or two. You get free tracks every month and the odd free car. DLC gives you cars, liveries and events. As for a new country you'll get Japan soon. I'll be getting the season pass next week for the DLC.
Choze Posted December 13, 2014 Posted December 13, 2014 regarding the weather patch. have any of the world tour races now got weather included in races as I have yet to come across it. do we only get weather on single races? No. Not at all. This is why the game should have been delayed. The new events coming will feature them. Online stuff already does so thats fine there and over time it will be more common. The game feels much better with them. There are still no replays and afew other things. They only just added track layouts to the menus. I would wait abit more before i dig in. You will have a better experience.

I may indulge in a few paid DLC stuff down the line but am good for now.
Cookyman Posted December 21, 2014 Posted December 21, 2014 Got my first PS4 Platinum yesterday! still loving it and bought the season pass.
somme Posted December 21, 2014 Posted December 21, 2014 Is... is that all the game is? It's a racing game. What more did you expect?
EEVILMURRAY Posted December 21, 2014 Posted December 21, 2014 It's a racing game. What more did you expect? I'm not sure, for everyone to be fisting it, I was expecting something. Something that would stop it looking boring beyond belief... But s'just me
Fierce_LiNk Posted December 21, 2014 Posted December 21, 2014 I'm not sure, for everyone to be fisting it, I was expecting something. Something that would stop it looking boring beyond belief... But s'just me u wot m4x2? It's a racing game but a very dynamic one at that. Try a race in Norway, starting at 3pm with the time setting on 60x and with the weather set to dynamic and call it boring. The race will go from daylight to night with the weather alternating between dry, light snow, medium snow and heavy snow. If you set enough laps or if the race is particularly long enough (setting it to 10 laps is awesome) it'll even go back to daylight/morning time/dawn. It's fucking awesome. All the while, you'll have drift challenges and speed challenges where you try to best either your friend's scores or that of randomers. It's probably the best racing game out there, imo.

How is it without the weather set to dynamic?
James Posted December 21, 2014 Posted December 21, 2014 I have loved the racing itself without the weather. It's got excellent handling and just great fun to play. The world doesn't need open world racers.
