Is anyone else watching this gem of a show? In my opinion it's one of the very best US series in recent years; the hype is totally justified.

If you haven't heard of it here's a brief summary: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1796960/

The opening episode is one of the most gripping I've seen. It's a series that draws you in right from the off and offers up devious twists and red-herrings at regular intervals - it never feels cheap like Lost used to though.

Basically, go watch if if you haven't!

I'm currently making my way through this (or I was, until Mass Effect 3 consumed my life). I have three more episodes left to watch, and it has been very good so far.

It's the kind of show where I don't see how a second season could possibly work, but then I haven't finished watching the first season yet, so maybe another season makes perfect sense.

BUMP

I only just started watching this...why have I waited so long? Well at least I won't have to wait long between eps...till I reach the end of season 1 and start season 2 next week anyway.

Also Why did nobody tell me your one who played Adria from SG1 and Anna from V gets naked in this!!!!!!!.... Now I'm really upset I waited so long to start watching :D

(Just hoping Danes gets her tits out too at some point *cough*....seriously nobody tell me yes or no on that I'm just talking out loud)

Seen the first 3 eps so far looking forward to the rest and seeing where it goes

I really think we need to reopen the Attractive People thread for Mokong.

Either that, or buy Mrs Mokong a negligee.

I can get Mrs Mokong to be naked every night, don't mean I can't get enjoyment of seeing other peoples boobies...esepcially actress boobies which are usually covered up on tv/film (excluding "those" films of course) :p

Finished season 1 last night.

My god was that last episode epic.

Cannot believe Brody is still free, was hoping to see him caught and Carrie to be given a heroes medal.

Can't believe Saul couldn't see something was wrong when Walker had a clear shot at the Vice Presient and missed!

At the very least you'd think he would have checked Brody when they came out of lock down, I kept waiting for someone to say "have you got something under your shirt" from behind you could see an outline at the top of the vest on the back of teh jacket, kept waiting for someone to spot it :heh:

Had thought season 2 would deal with a new threat but I guess we'll have to continue to deal with Brody

I don't think I've ever watched a show where I've wanted to reach into the screen grab a character and just slap them for being a dick...though I guess if anything it did help the veiwer empathise with the main character even more.

I actually started hoping Brody would blow himself up just to see everyone go "shit the bitch was right"

Hell she should have just not gone to Brodys house to see his daughter, she should have just left it happen then stood there later and said "told ya so, who's crazy now mother frakkers"...that would have been good :D

Damn it gonna be annoying when season 2 starts in a few days and I have to watch an ep at a time, haha

Don't watch "The OC". I'm currently going through the box sets due to my fiancee wanting to watch them.

My god... Season 3 of it, the biggest cast of douchebags ever assembled, although I think the reasoning to want to slap these guys differs to why you'd want to slap Homeland characters.

Season 2 starts soon!:bouncy:

I just watched the first episode of season 2, It's amazing how up to date the series is in terms of whats happening in the middle east right now.

Also i Loved...

Where she's in Beiruit to meet Sol, but someone spots her and followers her to the market type place, and after she knees the guy in the balls and gets people to help him... her smirk is just awesome.

And also... I can't get round Brody's daughter Dana.. I don't know if i like her character or not. Some scenes she can be a complete knob, but I also like the way she acts about the fact her Dad's a Muslim, she's very respectful of his choice and that is a good part of her.

On that subject...

over re-acted WAY to much when he admitted he was a Muslim. Gee'z get over it lady. Is that really what Americans are like??

"They tortured you, they're terrorists!".... No Lady... not all Muslims are terrorists you naive slut!

rant over :)

Yeah I loved that too, it was like was like you could see the actors herself was thinking "Owned that Bitch". haha

Might have to spoiler this...

I still can't get over how she can so close to finding the bomb vest in the last few eps of season 1. Dumb bitch will end up being an accessory to terrorism by the end or something.

But yeah it is kinda cool how respectful she has been of her dad converting to Islam.

On that subject...

I do kinda see where she's coming from though given the situation her and Brody are in...

Ignoring the "they're terrorists" stuff she said, she's obviously starting to enjoy being the wife of a politician (and he is somewhat high up yeah?) she's mostly prolly worried how the voting public would react if Brody being a muslim came out.

Not to mention his chances for being Vice President.

Don't know exactly if Americans would be like that but I'd imagine a majority would prolly not look nicely on it. Would also likely consider Brody to have "broken" while in captivity to have turned to Islam even if it didn't "turn him terrorist" (but of course we know it did)

I don't know are there any elected officials in the states (small or big positions) that are muslim?

Go watch ep 2 now, it is awesome:awesome:

Go watch ep 2 now, it is awesome:awesome:

Watched it last night,

and yeah it was indeed awesome.

Wow... that was tense. I wanted Abu Nazir to show up so that Carrie would get some respect back, and when Brody gets his phone out to text in that small room, I just had vision of his getting caught.

However I was annoyed when..

Carrie storms into Fatima's apartment to grab documents, Okay I understand that given who she is, she was always going to do that. But given her background in the CIA, she should of calculated the risk of that move to herself and ex colleagues. She's being an action women alot this season.

However the end result of my 2nd spoiler, which ends up being a cliff hanger to the end of the episode was awesome.

haha yeah...

When he took the phone out I was hoping and begging for someone else in the room to spot him...grrrrr

Yeah when that happened I was screaming at the TV.... you stupid bitch just let it go.

But as you said the end result again proved her instinct to be right, haha.

Are you watching the show on UK TV (what channel) or something? (Just wondering why you seem to be a week behind)

I watched ep 3 yesterday another good one. Didn't go how I expected but again cliff hanger was "WOOT".

Yeah I'm watching it on channel 4 on Sundays at the moment, well recording it on Sundays and watching it when I can which tends to be Mondays.

I guess i could Find other ways to watch the latest episode on the internet But my fiancee likes watching it too, and we've only got a small netbook /tiny screen, so rather watch it on the TV.

But it's the same cliffhanger as episode 2 >_> I was disappointed actually.

I have to be honest, after watching the first episode of the first season for five minutes I got bored, thinking it was some lame Iraq version of CSI or something, so I quit watching. Then I come here to see if there was anything that could change my mind(I only started to watch it to begin with because I noticed this thread) and well, there were two of them if you get my drift :p So I kept watching for what 10 minutes more, and by that time the episode got slightly more interesting, boobies not included, so I watched the whole episode to the end. And I finished the whole series a few days ago, in about a week or so.

One frustrating thing about being a whole season behind is turning on the tv and basically get the whole previous season spoiled because the advertisement for the next season is all about what happened in the final episode. So I knew that

Brody had never carried out any terrorist attack and Carrie was still pursuing him. So I knew in the final episode that he would never blow himself up and Carrie wasn't totally out of CIA.

Back to episode 2 of season 2

Was anyone else expecting Saul to die when he saw the video? It kinda felt like writer's manual 101 that that footage would never see the light of day and Saul had to die because he had seen it, so I kept waiting for that other agent who conveniently went to the room behind him to kill Saul.

That's what I liked bout the end of ep 3

Even though as you said it was the same as ep 2, I kept wondering "WHERE THE FRAK IS SAUL" thinking "the dumbass didn't even email the damn video to anyone, surely he's gonna get killed before anyone sees it and we'll be left at square one.

When he was pulled up at the airport I thought, damnit...but then when he had the real SD card on the plane thought, "phew"... but then we don't see him again for the rest of the ep... I kept expecting a character to turn on a TV and see a news report of a plane crash and it be his plane.

Seeing him at the end and showing the vid to Carrie while it is almost the same cliffhanger as ep 2 at least here Carrie gets to see it and she knows herself that she was right all a long (I so want to see a scene with her, Saul and David in a room and her going "I was fucking right all along and neither of you assholes believed me and even went as far as drive me out of the CIA when I was the ONLY FUCKING ONE doing MY JOB RIGHT" or something along those lines :D

Surely there's no way Brody can possibly get away now, wonder will they make this the last season or will they come up with a new bad guy for a season 3... but as the whole show revolves around Carrie and Brody be hard to see them pulling off a good 3rd season without both those two.

Hhmm... Shame you don't get RTÉ over there, just spotted RTÉ2 is only a few days behind the US broadcast, watching Ep 3 on RTÉ2 now.

I'll still download though cause I'm impatient, haha.

Just watched ep 4..... woot

I was a little disappointed with Davids appology to Carrie.... had hoped for more "I'm sooooooo sorry" and for her to be like "I fucking told you so"

Little upset too that they don't seem to trust her fully still bringing in that new guy Peter. She should be placed in bloody charge of teh whole CIA as she's the only one actually doing things right...kinda :heh:

Was also thinking when she met to meet Brody at the hotel bar that maybe the Peter guy was a double agent and or try to make out Carrie was Brodys handler cause he called her :heh:

Enjoyed the ep overall though. Just wish they hadn't fucked up and not had audio on the cameras in Langley so they could have caught that reporter one too....her time for handcuffs will come soon though hopefully.

Surprised by the ep ending though. Typical Carrie not taking orders but still I think it was more of a "fuck this, this bastard put me through hell I'm not waiting round any longer I want him in chains" than her thinking he had "made her".

Honestly too prolly a bit (very) unporfessional of the CIA to use her as bait to get to Brody....they should have known she was far too personally involved :heh:

Still though I'm bloody happy to see Brody finally in chains myself, haha.

Not how I expected things to go though. Thought the rest of the season (or at least next few eps) would play out a big game of cat and mouse of following Brody and trying to find his handler and get more info on Nassir. So be interesting to see where things go from here.

The side story with the daughter and VP's son though is bloody *yawn* why is that crap in there? Padding for the ep I guess...

I'm also looking forward to the drunk guy, Luader (sp?), finding out he was right of his suspicions on Brody and seeing him go "I fucking told everyone but nobody believed me....now lets celebrate with a drink" :heh:

Watched Episode 3 last night (I've been busy up till then :p )

This whole Sol dying thing, you know I think it can / will still happen. At the end of 3 Sol has shown Carrie, that's great and all, she knows she was correct, but if Sol were to have a car crash while driving to the CIA building and die, and he hasn't emailed this video, or made a copy. And in this crash the SD Card gets ruined....

Carrie will be all up in Davids face about she was right, there's proof, theres a video....David will respond let's see it, to which Carrie will be like... "Oh well Sol had it, and showed me, but the SD card with the video on it was destroyed in the car accident!"

Que the crying Carrie scene and the David all sarcastic/sympathetic "Of course he did, Carrie, yeah sure... but we don't believe you without evidence....!"

And Brody's wife only has one thing going for her.... She's hot. Her actual character on the show is so annoying.

"Hmm... Brody's not home, He sounded like he was panting and out of breath on the phone, he was fucking Carrie once before, so he must be doing it again now... So i'll allow his best friend who I've already had relations with into the house for a drink.... that'll show Brody, I'll seduce this guy and get it on, yeah.. take that Brody... How'd you like them apples.."

That's how that scene came across as.

Yeah I think something will happen to the evidence, though I hope they don't kill off Saul in the process as he's a great character and the relationship between him and Carrie is the best on the show.

Really he should have uploaded it to Langley straight away, I guess he felt he owed Carrie a chance to see it and he wouldn't have been able to show it to her once it became classified under national security. Very risky though.

I'll start with the side story bit, because I agree with you it's shit... "Oh no's I have a BF, Poor Zander", This isn't a teen love triangle show... move it on.

It wasn't one of the most exciting episodes until Carrie went to the bar, that's when It picked up for me.

I'm just glad that the video of Brody finally got revealed to David and not just Sol and Carrie know about it, just had this horrible feeling they weren't ever going to get it shown tot he CIA.

The new 'Analyst' guy seems like a prick, hopefully won't feature too heavily for the rest of the season, not keen on him at all..... he had one line that did make me chuckle..

Him - "Indian food?", Carrie - "No how about Greek??", Him - "I Like olives"

Can't see how the rest of the season will go now, Brody in chains, has admitted to Carrie the plan, and this was heard on cctv in the hotel room.

I can only imagine now the hunt will be for Nazir, and Brody will be a stubborn unhelpful person.
