3rd parties on Wii U

Recommended Posts

Now that Nintendo have removed the barriers for 3rd parties put their IPs on Wii U, what would you like to see?

Are there any particular series that you want?

What IPs could be given the Wii U treatment?

Are there any PC IPs that could be done on Wii U but not on the other platforms?

To be honest, I haven't been too fussed about the HD stuff. As much as possible for the success of the console but for me, I just want the best football game and probably dead Space series. The other stuff I like on the other consoles are all exclusive so Nintendo wouldn't get it anyway.

I'm very excited for Tekken. If I get a Wii-U, it's going to be for that.

I do hope SFxT and TxSF are released for the Wii-U, as well.

I would absolutely love a release of the Mass Effect Trilogy, with a lovely collector's box and everything.

Agree with you there Mr Cube, although I'd wonder how they would implement Umote specialism...

Anybody else want to see Skyrim on the system? The inventory/magic system is meant to be very complex and I'm sure a touch screen interface would really help that.

Will Call of Duty turn up in full HD glory?

Well, changing weapons/biotics and squad commands is a massive pain in the arse. So I'd be happy with buttons for that on the controller.

Better than shouting at your 360 huh?

I'm quite happy that Arkham City is coming to the WiiU, for I like all those characters and such.

What I'd love to see is a new 2.5D or 3D Castlevania game.

Not really fussed about the rest, maybe BioShock, and I wish for a Ratchet&Clanck game  or Sly Cooper

Here's hoping the Wii U controller or 3DS interactivity will pave the way and rebuke that stupid excuse for the reasoning behind there not being a POKEMON MMO - surely the next step after all these coloured/mineral games and a few new more Pokemans... But then a fully fledged HD Pokemon Stadium 3 will be just as respected.

on topic: Being a Command & Conquer nut (and if EA really are working on the online bits), I definitely want to see a C&C on a Nintendo home console; it will be a first since Command & Conquer 64! More strategy games in general.

When I look at the white Wii U, for some reason the image of the white background boxart of FINAL FANTASY also comes to mind. No Crystal Chronicles etc, I want full main series, numbered Final Fantasys on the Wii U! Do you remember the Active Event scenerio thingy in Final Fantasy 9? Something tells me great adaptations to that could happen with the Wii U controller.

Oh and ACE COMBAT - the Wii U controller would make a great pilots 'steering wheel'.

:bouncy:

Honestly just throw everything at us!!

Loads of 360/PS3 games like the earlier Assassins Creeds/Batman AA/Dead Space etc... are only selling for around £10 now online anyway... and especially by 2012 there'll be even more budget games out there... so really boxset bundles would be viable and a great options for the Wii U.

Tomb Raider

Skyrim

Mass Effect 2/3 Boxset [hopefully a way to get 1 included aswell by then?]

Assasins Creed 1/2/'3' Boxset

Assasins Creed Revelations

Dead Space 1/2 Boxset

Batman Arkham City [hopefully with BAA bundled in]

and I'm already looking forward to the likes of F1 2012 in glorious HD with a simulated F1 steering wheel/driver tracker etc... right there in my hands! :D

I'm on playing Castlevania Lords of Shadow on the 360 and it's an absolute blast. They could rerelease this with all of the DLC intact.

I agree with all of these, but i would love to see Fallout on the WiiU, use the controller as the pipboy (special edition game comes with pipboy coloured/theme WiiU Controller *prays*), you could do vats on that screen

hell they could even remove the pause aspect of Vats and leave the action going while you select vats on the controller! i always here it makes the game too easy with the pause*vats*kill enemy*next enemy*pause*vats etc

in fact i love my own idea there!

I'm sure Square would love the final fantasy series on it, have the commands on the touch panel so the main screen holds all the HD glory with no clutter, love to see FFXIII verses and XIII-2

In fact any RPG using that formula could be good!

Tomb Raider

I'm hopeful this might crop up for the Wii U as it looks great so far. It's not out till Fall 2012 so it's entirely possible they could do it. Sure Square Enix would be up for it, given how poorly they've been doing sales wise lately so sticking it out on another console with different functionality could help in shifting more units.

Other than that, others have mentioned things which would be nice to see on the console (although whether I'd buy them I don't know, especially a Mass Effect collection seeing as I'll have them all on the 360 anyway). I seem to post it in every thread which asks what we'd like to see but I think the new controller could make for a really interesting experience in Child of Eden (make it happen Miziguchi/Q? Entertainment). I'm more than happy to buy it twice but it could be rather interesting.

Wouldn't the fact that the uController isn't multi-touch hinder this title?

Personally I don't think the concept of the game is compatible with what Wu can do.

I was thinking more along the lines of a setup similar to the Baseball tech demo shown in the Wii U video reel where you'd move the controller around to highlight the targets you want to lock on to. Something like that. Touch control for that kind of game wouldn't be great. I think it'd work really well. Would be smoother than the Kinect setup and easier to manoeuvre than the analogue stick setup, which is slower in these types of games than the d-pad for some reason ::shrug:

Mass Effect collection, with 1,2 & 3 and all the DLC included in one package! With all weapon changes and abilities mapped to the touch screen, and a special Nintendo planet snuck in there as a hidden extra!

Oh and Namco better get to porting all the Tales games we've missed out on. Graces, Abyss, Vesperia and Xillia better make it to Wii U. Namco has no excuse now.

Konami could do some interesting stuff on it for PES too - imagine having four players with wii remotes playing on one side and then the player with the uController acts as the manager and has to view the action from the touchline, shouting tactics with the mic etc.

Call of Duty could do something similar, with one player on each team getting a bird-eye view of the battleifeld and using the screen to direct the rest to objectives or opposing players.

Lots and lots of 360/PS3 ports. Take the amount of PS2 games that were ported to the Wii and multiply that by 10, and there will be more yet. They'll be exactly the same with the exception of having menus on the controller and slightly better graphics (comparable to the PC versions for a lot of them, especially the older ones. This is assuming the rumors about the 47xx based graphics card are true). Some companies will be slow to jump on the bandwagon, but expect EA, Activision, Ubisoft, 2K, etc. to start releasing their stuff right away. The majority of multiplatform games getting released between the launch of the Wii U and the launch of the PS4 and next Xbox will make it to the Wii U, from that point on, it depends on how powerful the new consoles as well as the Wii U are. I can see a ton of shovelware DS games having their graphics upgraded being released on the Wii U as well so the publishers can make a quick buck.

Personally I'm not really that concerned about what 3rd party games get released on the Wii U though. I have a PC that can run anything anyway, and I doubt the Wii U will get that many exclusives, the industry is moving away from 3rd party exclusives these days. I do hope some of these games get re-released on the Wii U for the sake of those who only own Nintendo consoles though, it would be a shame for people to not experience games like Fallout 3 etc.
